Chapter 55

Subtitle : her burial.

*** general POV***

The atmosphere was stilt as the only sound that could be heard was that of heavy pained breathing.Everyone was certainly not happy to be there, they were in deep grieve and silence as they paidrespect to their late friend.

From the dragon, to the Vampire, both brothers had only known their grand niece for just a shortwhile but she had became a part of their lives they would always live to remember and carry on intheir graves hearts.

Lulu was frantically cold and couldn't even bring herself to believe in what was happening at themoment.

She found it hard to believe what the others were saying but her eyes betrayed her, no matter howhard she tried to not believe it, her dear friend was lying six feet beneath the cold floor.

But she couldn't cry, she was numb.

Jaxon could only hold back his unending tears as he held his unconscious mother who had faintedawhile ago in his arms, his mother had cried and wailed for a long time, she hasn't had a rest or agood sleep since she found out about her daughter's demise which had left her broken to thebones.

The entire crescent moon pack was present and everyone was sad as they could only hold onpatiently to finally sent her off to the immortal world.

But one thing was missing, the Alpha king was nowhere in sight, he hasn't come around since twodays ago.

It was getting darker as the full moon was beginning to disappear, signalling the dawn.

But he still has not turned up.

Everyone waited patiently for another thirty minutes before he showed up from among the thickbushes.

He looked different from his usual self.

The alpha king who used to look cold and dangerous was now looking like dead itself.

His clothes were shredded in pieces and he looked like he has not taken a decent bath in years.His whole face was disoriented and his hair was longer and looked freezy,his face and body wascovered in blood and it looked like he had went on a late night hunt alone and had killed a lot ofpreys.

As he approached the center of the stone all eyes were on him, no one broke contact from him asthey all anticipated what he would be thinking of and do next.

He walked up to the dead corpse on the stone that was laid between long logs of dried wood andsmiled out painfully at her.

Yes, even a child can easily tell that it was a painful smile, that of regret, pains and unturnedemotions.

He stared at the dead body for a long time before uttering slow words to it.

"I still replace it hard to believe that you will leave me that easily, I told myself if I go on a hunt andcome back later on I will see that you have woke up from your long sleep but it was all pointless.I've kept you with me for a week and had refused to let go of you, I tried to look for ways to bringyou back, I was willing to exchange my life with yours but believe me, it was pointless.

I did tried Melanie, I swear I tried my best!

He broke down to tears and fall to his knees, it will be the first time his pack members will be seeingtheir alpha cry like a baby.

"I've being a coward and haven't loved you enough, now you've left me even before you could baremy mark or bare my pups, it's all my fault mate.

I swear to you that I'll be a better king, I'll try to rule my people with your kind of good heart. And ifwe will ever have a chance to meet again then I will gladly choose to see your pretty smile first.

He muttered and bend his head to the floor sobbing had, Jaxon walked up to him and gently parthim on the shoulders but he wouldn't stop crying.

Melanie's father walked up to her slowly with a head that is bowed all along, he had a guilty andswollen face on and looked like he had cried all night since he had heavy eyesbags beneath hiseyes.

His family followed behind as they stood some steps away from the Alpha,not to provoke him.

"I am ashamed to face you as a father, I'm a failure that doesn't deserve to be called a father.

But I wish you will forgive us and leave a peaceful life in the afterlife daughter...

He said croakingly,he made to say something more but sighed, turned around and walked awaywhile his wife and children followed behind him.

After the alpha had sobered down he gently stood up from the floor, walked towards the grave andlight a match, he then shakingly threw it at the grave and the people watched as it bloomed intolife.

"Pack up every single ashes left from her burns and bring them to me!"

The Alpha instructed his beta and walked away with his hands crossed behind his back.

Melanie sat on the stone as she watched them burn her remnants into ashes, she was sad as shewatched everyone cry over her,but she just had to leave.

But one thing troubled her, when she had thought she was death and had left the human world togo to the immortal world she was not allowed to cross over to the real immortal world, according tothe gate keepers, she has not completed the task that was given to her yet.

She didn't understand what they meant untill her grandmother came to explain to her that she wasdead but her soul was not accepted there yet, she need to go back and complete her task, shehasn't wiped out all the evil in her generation yet and still had a Luna duty to take care of.

She was given just a day to hunt for a new body to settle in, but she can't tell anyone that it is herother wise she will be killed instantly,her her soul will never get a pass to the immortal world everagain.

It was confusing,she can't go back into her old body because it was already dead and she can'tadmit to anyone that it was her no matter who it was else she would have to live the rest if herimmortal life as a demon.

It was a bad call for her, slowly she stood up from the stone and walked away as her brother hadbegun to gather the remnants of her body ashes into a nice glass bottle.

She didn't looked back as she walked ahead.

A bird suddenly flew to her and landed on her shoulders, she gasped and looked over to seeLatisha.

"Latisha! You can see me? *

She asked and the bird laughed.

"or are you also dead? "

She quickly asked but the bird shook it's head.

"you and I aren't dead yet, just that your body gave up the ghost because it couldn't take itanymore while mine kept on fighting.

Anyways, have you found a new body to settle in just yet?"

The bird asked while Melanie shook her head.

"I'm going on a hunt now, care to join? "

She asked and the bird nodded as they quickly disappeared into thin air.

In a dark room the Alpha king sat quietly as he smoked heavily from blunt he had in his hands.There was a knock on the door and he groaned not liking the disturbing noise that came from it.He had personally told Jaxon that he didn't want to be disturbed but the dude was not getting in.The door opened slowly and Jaxon showed up I'm front of the alpha in less than a minute.

"I'm sorry to disturb...

Ryker cut him shot by rising his hands in the air.

"I told you not to freaking disturb me but you would listen would you? *

He snapped coldly and Jaxon choked on his throat and swallowed a lump.

"lulu said she needed to talk to you urgently and kept disturbing me saying it was important shetalks to you."

Jaxon said.

Ryker kept quiet and took a drag from his blunt without saying a word.

"the fox? What's so important that she will rather go agiants my rules? *

He asked and Jaxon shrugged.

"let her see me..

He muttered quietly and concentrated more on the blunt in his hands.

The door creaked open shortly and a female figure emerge walking briskly to the front.

"I'm sorry to disturb you Ryker.. But I needed to talk to you. "

Lulu said and Ryker didn't even glance at her.

"what do you want? *

He asked coldly.

Lulu sighed.

"I strongly think that Melanie is not dead! "

She said loud enough for the Alpha to hear.

Ryker snapped his head towards her in a moment and she jerked with fear.

"you wanna die? My mate just left us,i understand it's hard for you to believe it but you shouldn'thold unto her like that and say things like that about her.

Do not make me get angry, I burnt her body myself...

She said angrily and lulu bite her lips.

"yes, I believe she is dead.

But the thing it, why is the Phoenix desert still intact even though no one has succeeded her sinceshe died, the desert stills smells like her and only those she had allowed in there when she was alivecan go in there now, the shocking fact is that her body is binded to that of her firebird the bird issupposed to die or weaken after seeing dies. She is dead but Latisha is not dead..

Why is that so? *

Lulu spelled out the bees to him and it couldn't help but get him confused.

His eyes were thobbing with lots of unanswered questions and his fingers tightened
