The Revenge of the Mute Wife by Melanie Paulson -
Chapter 263
Chapter 263
After that glorious Valentine's Day, the days flew by with work, time spent with James, and the last details of the wedding being finalized.
Fortunately, arranging for the music, DJ, photographer, and videographer was a breeze.
The only hiccup came with Caroline's dress, which needed some adjustments due to her noticeable pregnancy. When she tried it on, it was a bit snug, but David quickly resolved the issue by adding a lace panel of the same color to expand the dress. Now, only one crucial detail remained: James's suit.
At that moment, Deborah and Jayden arrived at the store where David was already waiting with the tailor to take James's measurements.
"Wow," James exclaimed, his eyes widening at the colorful clothes displayed on the mannequins. Sparkling outfits were everywhere.
"You're going to look very dapper," Deborah said, noticing the boy's excitement as she admired the suits.
"Welcome! You must be the Coopers, one of the salespeople greeted as they approached the counter.
"Yes, we are," Jayden replied.
"Please follow me. The tailor is ready for you," the salesperson said, leading them to a special room where David was conversing with the tailor.
"Good afternoon," David greeted as they entered the room.
Good afternoon," the couple responded.
"Ah..."
"Today, James, you're going to be the center of attention," David said, picking up the little boy and placing him on the table where he was laid down to have his measurements taken.
Jayden and Deborah laughed, watching closely to ensure James remained calm and didn't cry.
Once the tailor had taken his measurements, he went to fetch some pre-made white suits, ensuring they matched the color of his father's outfit.
James stretched out his little hands, smiling as he touched the suits and noticed no one scolding him or taking the fabrics away.
Deborah smiled, pleased to see her son cooperating with the various outfits until they found the perfect one. The good news was that after trying on the third suit, they only needed to shorten the sleeves slightly. The suit would be ready in two days. With everything settled, they went to the cashier to pay and leave David a note.
"Excellent. When it's ready, I'll pick it up to have everything set for the big day," David said, taking the purchase note and filing it away. "And with this, we've officially completed the wedding payments."
"Is everything already done?" Jayden asked, astonished

"Well... I'm still missing the bachelor and bachelorette parties for both of you," David said.
"Bachelor party?" Jayden repeated, feeling a twinge of jealousy at the thought of Deborah seeing other
men.
"Don't worry, Jayden. I'll replace the sexiest dancers for you and your friends to enjoy that night," David said, giving him a pat on the shoulder.
"What dancers?" Deborah asked, sounding a bit jealous.
"Um..." David noticed the annoyed looks from both parties. "Well... it's a tradition, and..."
"Well, we're a couple now, and actually, we'd prefer a different kind of farewell," the brunette said. "We're both a bit possessive, and I don't think we'd enjoy the night because we'd be imagining what the other is doing."
"I agree with my wife," Jayden said. "Hehe, and by the way you're talking, do you already have an idea?"
"Yes, I was thinking we could have an afternoon..." Deborah started, outlining a plan that promised to be fun and entertaining.
"Oh... hehe, I like that. In that case, I know exactly how to organize it for that afternoon," David said, winking.
"Buaa..." James started whining.
"Calm down, James, we're almost done," Jayden said, soothing him.
"Poor thing, he's already bored," David commented.
"I left the diaper bag in the car," Deborah said.
"I'll go get it. It's time for his nap anyway" anden said, trying to calm his son. "Don't cry.. I'll go get your milk."
"Ah... buaaaa..."
"Debbie..." Jayden called as he saw Deborah still standing.
"Go ahead first. I want to discuss something with David about the decorations for James's suit," Deborah said.
"Okay, don't be long, love," Jayden said, turning to head towards the car.
"Now, about the brooch you want..." David began, looking for images of the decoration they had discussed.
"Shh..."
"Hm?"
"That's a lie. Actually, I need your help to make a slight adjustment to the wedding program," Deborah said, pulling out a white envelope and handing it to him
David raised an eyebrow at the secrecy, but took the envelope and pulled out the paper inside to read it. "Oh! This..."

"Shh..." Deborah smiled at his reaction.
"Wait, don't tell me I..."
"Yep, you're the first to know, and I'd like you to make space in the schedule for me to announce it."
"Wow... I love this kind of surprise. Count me in. Let's see..." David started thinking. "Oh! How about we modify the presentation of the candy table? You can announce it there since we'll be making the sweets with a special theme to surprise Jayden." "That sounds good, but won't it affect the pastry chefs' work?"
"We won't change any decorations; we'll just ask them to add those little flags to make it clear that it's a surprise. I'll also check if they have any pre-made decorations with that theme. Does that sound okay?"
"I like how that sounds. So, I'll count on you, and let me know the additional cost."
"Don't worry, I can include those decorations in the cost of the bachelor party."
"Thank you so much. In that case, it's settled. See you in a few days," Deborah said, taking back the envelope and tucking it safely into her pocket.
With that, she said goodbye to David and rejoined her family to go out for dinner.
