The Runaway Groom
Chapter 605

Chapter 605

Ember gasped in surprise. "Are they here to save her?"

Winston was getting nervous-he could see at one glance that therewere a lot of people below, whereas he and Ember were just two, not tomention that Ember was a woman.

In fact, they would never win even if she was a man-not when theyhave them outnumbered ten to one!

"What should we do?"

Ember started to panic, but Winston was no better!

Eventually, he asked, "Why don't we just bolt?"

Ember was certainly reluctant. "We haven't gotten our money!"

"Which do you think is more important, the money or staying alive?" theman asked in return.

Ember thought about it briefly and soon replied, "Staying alive.”

What good was money when she was not alive to spend it?

"That's right-there will be opportunities as long as you stay alive,”Winston said as he pulled her along, leaping out of the hole that wassupposed to be a window and onto the scaffolding, where they climbeddown and fled into the bushes.

"They must have noticed US and bolted," Zachary said flatly.

"Do we go after them, sir?" one of Isaac's henchmen asked.

"No," Isaac replied-they were enemies of Debbie, not his.

Moreover, what they were doing was exactly what he had in mind, albeit far less savage!

Still, Isaac asked Zachary about it since Ember was involved.

Zachary shrugged-he had already cut all ties with her. "It's not an issue. We're divorced, and what she wants is her business.”

With that, Isaac strode toward Debbie, who was puzzled as to whythose two had bolted.

Naturally, she understood once Isaac showed up.

"Help me, Isaac!"

Debbie still had no idea that the antidote Irene made had cured Tommy, while Isaac had rescued Ricky as well.

She had no leverage against him at all!

However, before Isaac could speak, Zachary walked up to her andasked, ’ You never saw this coming, did you?"

Then, before Debbie could say a word, Zachary continued, “I didn'tknow that you're that heinous."

To think that what Ember said about her was on the money!

Debbie averted her gaze. "What are you talking about?"

"James Cross recovered." Zachary grinned. "You planned his accident, didn't you?"

Debbie was left in shock and disbelief. "H-He recovered?"

Still, she soon composed herself. "Does he have proof that I did it?"She knew very well that she had cleared away all the evidence so thatJames would never replace anything even if he had his suspicions.

They could not do anything to her as long as she refused to admit it.Moreover, she would marry Isaac soon-when that happened, Jameswould amount to nothing!

Still, Zachary saw through her and sneered. "You're really delusional.”"What would you know?!" Debbie snorted and turned toward Isaac."Please, I'm hurt-you need to take me to the hospital."

“The hospital? Even hell is too good for you!" Zachary growled icily. How was she still unable to see the situation after things had come tothis?

Debbie finally did a double take and turned gingerly to look at Isaac. There was no emotion to be seen on his face, but the sinister air thatseemed to spill from his bones left her heart racing!

Debbie started to stammer in fear. "Isa... 1-1 mean, Mr. Jefferson...”Although she managed to stop herself from calling him Isaac, he wasnot willing to hear anything she had to say now. "Gag her and take herwith US."

“Yes, sir," his henchmen replied, walking up to free Debbie but keepingher restrained.

Debbie tried to struggle. "Where are you taking me-Umph!" She wasgagged before she could speak.
