Phoebe POV

While I was touching Emily, I quickly remembered that I was supposed to wash and clean up the house.

I quickly took off my dress, this has to be the most expensive wear I have for now, and I have to handle it well.

I put on something casual, I sort out the clothes I want to wash, and I go over to the washing machine to wash the clothes when I see Lily walking towards me.

She takes it up from me, "Let me help you with that, Don't worry I'll take care of it,"

I'm quickly stunned by her actions, not like she won't help me do some chores, but why is she acting like I am some cripple, I know Lily more than anything in this whole world. She's eating up inside. "You know it's fine, you helping me wash you've also prepared something for Jake and Emily, but is there something you're yet to tell me?"

Lily doesn't look at me immediately, she puts the clothes into the washer and punches a button that makes the clothes inside start spinning.

She gets up and holds up her arm against her chest, "When were you planning on telling me you had stage four congestive heart failure? Do you want to die or something?"

She sure as hell looks like one feisty bitch right now.

I see through her how pissed she is, on my side, I'm seriously shocked about how she got to know the one thing I've hidden successfully for the past few years.

"Um...i... I was gonna tell y..you," First things first, I know I suck at lying and this just proves it.

"You were gonna tell me? When?" By this time I could see the anger rising within Lily as she spoke with disdain in her tone.

"Babe, it's not what you think," I tell her, as I close my eyes to deliver this impromptu speech, I never imagined a day in my life she'd replace out without me telling her, come to think of it, how did she replace out? "How did you replace out?" I ask narrowing my eyes at her to make sure I don't miss any expression, "Your fucking Doctor called me?" She replied, her tone firm and assertive.

"My Doctor? How did he get your number?" I ask, surprise evident in my tone as I speak, "Why should he not get my number when filling in your details at the hospital, what name did you fill in as your sister?" She gives me a look I don't know how to place a name on.

"Babe," I reach out for her arms once again, "I swear, I didn't keep it from you because I wanted to, we were already going through so much at the time, I just had to keep it to myself, and if I had told you it will only make matters worse because you'll worry more, Okay?" I cock my eyebrows at her for approval.

She takes a few seconds to digest what I said to her and then she realizes I'm telling the truth.

She drops her shoulders that were hanging, guess she didn't realize because she was furious, the fury in her eyes slowly fading away.

Her dark mood lightens up, I guess she's realized more than I've detailed.

She quickly pulled me into her embrace, hugging me so tightly, as she began to cry, I could feel my bone cracking from inside.

"Babe, why are you crying?"I managed to say.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that alone, I didn't even know for all these years and I wasn't there for you...." When I realize where she's heading with that I quickly shun her.

"Hey, don't say that Babe, you are the only family I got the only person I trust with my life, you've helped me and my siblings in ways we couldn't express, I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier, I didn't want to bother you," I say caressing her blonde hair from the back.

"I'm sorry," she says still crying, "it's okay, babe, there's nothing to be worried about, I'm fine," I lie, yet again.

"Don't tell me you're fine 'cause if you were the doctor wouldn't call me," Lily quickly objects, pulling from the hug as she wipes her tears.

My remark certainly betrayed a staggering contempt for the truth.

"Well, I didn't tell you, that guy from last night tipped me off with a few grand that will be enough for me to pay for Emily and Jake's school fees, I'll also clear some of my debts and I'll have some extra to get my medication." Lily looks at me with regret in her eyes, "I wish I could help" she mutters.

"Doesn't matter anymore, I got a better job, things won't be so hard for us anymore, all I just need from you is to be here like you've always been." I pleaded with her.

"Sure, I always will," she assures me.

"Since you'll be helping me, I guess I should leave already, so I could come back early."

"Alright," Lily says, turning back to the washing machine.

I had to freshen up, after I was done with that I put on comfy wear, jeans, and a white casual long sleeve.

I style my hair in a half bun, put on my lip tint and I'm ready to go.

I head for the living room to replace Jake still glued to the book he was reading, he notices my outfit as he looks up at me.

"Where are you going, gorgeous," he says in a flirty tone, he's been learning too much rizz lately.
