Phoebe POV

I saw Miriam watch the car leave, without any explanation or convincing she knew that was her husband's car.

And where she couldn't pair the puzzle was how I linked up with her husband. I don't miss the furious look on her face, anger building up inside her.

This is even the littlest of it all, does she know how her dog couldn't keep it in his pants around me?

I act oblivious to her as I step into the Supermarket, it seems the rain was the reason she was waiting behind.

"Hey," I hear a voice call out, I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me who it was, the last thing I want here is any show that will attract unnecessary attention to me.

So I pretended like I didn't hear her calling me, hellbent on picking the stuff I needed in the house and buying some chocolates and sweets for my baby sister, Emily.

Emily was my sweet angel, loved her so much, she always prayed for me to be healthy whenever I was dressing her up for School. Her prayers worked, that's all I can say because it helped me.

"Hey," I hear her voice again. This time it was closer than the first time, which means she had covered a distance trying to reach out to me. I don't still flinch or turn, I just keep doing my shopping. "Phoebe, what the fuck were you doing with my husband? You shameless slut,"

I didn't want to answer her because I knew where she was heading with that, Miriam liked causing scenes she did not have shame.

"What the hell are you talking about, don't you ever call me a slut in your goddamn life ever again," I yell at her staring at her dead in the eyes, she thinks it's those school days? I've grown so much courage now.

The confidence I used to speak cut her off balance for a moment, but then she recollected herself, she knew what she saw and that car was her husband's car, but there was doubt written all over her.

She quickly pulls out her phone and I don't keep looking at her. I continue my shopping. After checking what she was checking on her phone she turned to me with all her strength and placed a phone directly in my face.

"This is my husband's car, Phoebe, have you got no shame? Everyone thought you were going to be different from your mother but it seems you're even worse than her because you graduated from a slut to be a homewrecker....." I didn't know when I forgot my hand on her face.

I feel guilty but I think she deserves another one so I leave my fingerprints on her other cheek, she knows how strong I am now, that slap is for the pain she caused me years ago, she could have dodged the repercussions but she's so stupid, she never grew after all, I've put in so much effort to clear my name and show people that I'm different from my parents, I won't let her talk me down no matter what.

I use my hand to hold her jaw and bring it up so she can look me in the eyes while I speak some sense into her snarky brain.

My grip on her her jaw is so tight that I could feel her teeth, "Now listen to me, my voice laced with a depth of anger, "Don't ever in your life call me a slut ever again, I am nothing like my mother and don't try comparing me to her, The days have changed Miriam I hope you understand that you can't bully me forever, this is no longer the enclosed walls of our school I can do whatever I want with you and don't try me or else you'll pay for everything you did to me years ago." I say, giving her a sinister smile.

She looked surprised and dumbfounded as I dropped her jaw, she must be surprised at how much confidence I have grown now.

"And," I say turning to her again, "I might have fucked your dog a few times, but he's so obsessed with me and he won't let me be even when I told him to go his wife, here's some piece of advice," I say leaning on the shopping basket, "Drop this sneaky and stupid character of yours and be a sweet wife to your husband and see if he'll love you more, just maybe it may work but I still have him wrapped around my finger," I say leaving the place heading to pay for my goods and leave the place.

She doesn't say a word to me as I walk away from her, she'll be too stunned to speak, she didn't expect this she thought it would be like the other times when she bullies me and gets away, I scoff.

I flip my hair back, balancing the Aura of triumph resting on my shoulder with just one call. I could get her destroyed, and make her pay dearly for the pain she caused me.

I walk off the supermarket after making the payments for the things I bought. I feel so relieved, not so relieved though, but I've planted something in Miriam's mind that she won't be able to uproot easily.

I stand with my drugs and the things I bought in the supermarket, I take out my phone trying to book a Uber.

I successfully booked the Uber and stood on the roadside patiently waiting for the Uber to arrive. I've waited for a few minutes and suddenly I absentmindedly tilt my head and it lands on a familiar guy from my past.

I feel my heart sink in my stomach, "What is he doing here?" I ask myself.

With each heartbeat I become weaker, I feel my knees buckle but I try to gain balance.

A car suddenly stopped in front of me, "Are you, the customer waiting for me?"

The Uber driver came just in time, I opened the door, slumped into the back seat, and quickly reached for my medications.
