Phoebe's POV

After forcing myself to sleep despite the turmoil I was under, I was able to get a little rest. While I was sleeping I had a dream when I and Ethan were coming out of a restaurant. We had a lovely time together and Ethan whispered something into my ears and I was laughing uncontrollably.

Unexpectedly a car screeched in front of the restaurant and my ex came out with a gun pointing at me and Ethan, and he asked Ethan to hand me over to him, Ethan who was already holding my hand before the incident refused to let me go, I gestured for him to let me go but he refused, when My ex saw that he was not wanting to leave me he shot him, the bullet landed on his stomach and my ex quickly drove off, I bent down giving pressure to the wound asking Ethan to stay back because his eyes were fading.

I woke up from the dream shouting, "No, no, no."

My whole body was dripping with sweat, like I was running a marathon.

Jake got up from the sound of my voice, "Are you okay?" He asked, his voice showing so much concern.

"Yes....I think," I say holding my chest, as I gulp on my saliva.

Jake rushes out of the bed and goes to the kitchen to bring water for me.

"Here," he says, giving me a glass of water to drink, he sits beside me holding my shoulders.

"Is something bothering you? You know you can tell me anything right? I'm here for you," he assures me.

I laugh inwardly because he doesn't know the gravity of what I'm keeping from him, he thinks it's just a mere secret.

"Don't worry, Jake, it's nothing you should worry about," I lied, so he could be eased.

"If you say so," Jake says and shrugs, trying not to worry much since it's personal to me.

I get up and grab my phone, the time is past five in the morning, I urge Jake to get a little more rest while I go and prepare what they'll eat at school.

While I'm cooking in the kitchen my thoughts race back to my dream a few minutes ago and my mind goes to Ethan and I think of giving him a call.

I grab my phone and go to my contacts and search for his name. I had already saved his number in my phone but I forgot that he doesn't have mine.

I place a call across and it rings, my heart beats faster, remembering the stunt I pulled back at the hotel, and how I took his boxers. I wondered what his reaction would be when he realizes I'm the one calling.

I brace myself for his reaction, waiting for him to answer. He picks up the call and his voice comes through the phone loud and clear, "Hello," and I speak immediately, closing my eyes.

"Um..hello, it's Phoebe, I'm so sorry I didn't call earlier,"

"There's no problem, what's more important is that you called, we are supposed to see today concerning the job offer," he reminds me, how could I forget I need that job more than anything in the world right now. "Yeah I remember clearly, how can I forget about it," I tease, "What time will be convenient for you?" I ask.

"This morning, I'll like that we see this morning,"

"Okay, that's fine, I'll start preparing,"

"Alright, I'll send the location where we would meet to your phone in a few, is this your number?"

"Yes it's my number," I reply.

"Alright, see you soon then," he says and hangs up the call.

I look at my phone with my eyes wide open in shock, I thought this call will be harder than this, or he'll be fiesty with me.

I do the cross sign and go back to what I was doing, after cooking I clean up the kitchen, arrange Jake and Emily's food in their food bags, I make them enough food for the days they bear with me.

I cleaned up the house and arranged it, I woke Jake and Emily up for school, I took Emily to the bathroom to bathe her, and she was praying for me as I was dressing her up for school. That's what she does every morning, pray for me when I'm dressing her up for school.

Jake was getting ready himself and soon both of them were ready, I brought them out to the living room and I went to the room to change into something better than what I was wearing. Since I won't be leaving them at home today I decided to walk them to school.

I walked them to school and the look on their faces was refreshing to my soul.

I get to the school entrance and I peck Jake and kiss Emily, "Close your eyes," they tell me as if they planned a surprise for me.

I close my eyes, "open your hands," I hear Emily's voice.

I open my hands, they put something that feels like a piece of paper, "Should I open my eyes now?" I ask them.

"No wait, till we count to five," Jake says.

I open one of my eyes a little and I see them taking steps backwards and counting. Once I hear them get to five I open my eyes and look at what they put in my hands. It was two papers. I quickly open them and I read what's written in both papers.

"I LOVE YOU," in the middle of the note and "Emily" by the right bottom of the note.

The second one was, "I LOVE YOU," in the middle of the note and, "Jake," by the right bottom of the note.

I look up at them as they are running and laughing, I blow kisses to them even if they don't see it.

My phone beeps and I bring it out, it's a message from Ethan "Are you ready yet?"

Oh my goodness, I rushed home immediately.
