The Shadow Alpha
CHAPTER EIGHT

We led them to the pack house in silence. Questions were swimming in my mind, I could hardlywrap my head around things, I didn't want to believe what I was thinking.

I needed answers and I would get them today.

We led them straight to my office where, but before Jake and Dris could enter I blocked their path,“Would you guys mind giving me a moment to speak to them alone?”

They shared a look, but nodded anyway.

“Thank you guys, could you please get someone to prepare a room for them and notify the kitchenteam that we have three extra guests tonight.” I requested before entering and shutting the doorbehind me.

"Please have a seat.” I gestured to the seats as I walked towards my table and picked up the framedpicture that I placed there when I first occupied the office. The youthful, smiling faces of my parentsgreeted me causing a familiar pain to bubble in my stomach.

"When I was eight years old my parents were abducted by rogues before my eyes. Seeing the wayyou protected little Ana today reminded me so much of how they put themselves in danger toprotect me.” I took my seat behind the desk, still holding the frame in my hands.

"How long were you both in prison for?” I asked, placing the frame flat down on the table and metthe gaze of the couple before me.

“We're not sure. We woke up one day with no recollection of whom we were or where we were. Aman by the name of Kane told us that we were held captive and drugged by a pack which is why welost our memories and that he and his men saved us. He convinced us to join his rogue group andfor years we worked for him, till we found out the truth a few years ago. We have been planning ourescape since Tatiana was born and finally succeeded a few weeks ago.” Asher explained, finallyopening up.

“Can you tell me what the rogues are planning? Surely it must be something big if they kidnappedpack wolves just to increase their numbers?” Asher nodded.

“They are, but I'm sorry, I don't know much of what their plans are apart from the fact that they planto derail as many packs as they can and take over the whole world.” He sighed, seeming ashamedfor not knowing much, causing my heart to lurch.

“Please don't feel bad, we will figure out what they want in time; I am just glad that you three madeit out alive.” I smiled.

"You are a good person Alpha Allison, your parents would be proud of you.” Hannah said in such amotherly way that tears gathered in my eyes.

“I hope they will be. Would you like to see a picture of them?” she nodded hesitantly and I pushedthe frame across the table to her.

Asher looked up at me before picking up the frame from the table to not disturb Tatiana who fellasleep in her mother’s arms on the way to the pack house.

"What is the meaning of this!” Asher burst, pushing up from his seat in anger.

“Asher!” His wife scolded, reaching for the frame that he waved around in anger.

A gasp escaped her lips when her gaze landed on the picture, “Who... Who are they?” She askedshakily as Asher paced from side to side behind her.

“Those are my parents who were kidnapped by rogues almost eleven years ago, it was taken at myeighth birthday party, the boy in the picture is my brother.” I revealed slowly, letting the informationset in, “Their names were Asher and Hannah Trust.”

The room fell into silence, when I looked up; both of them were looking at me with disbelievingeyes.

“I never told you our last name.” Asher observed softly. I shook my head, still feeling thrown off bytheir sudden appearance.

"You see, I was originally from the Full Moon pack where you both were the Beta and Beta Female, but when you were kidnapped, things changed and I was treated differently ever since. Three yearsago I ran away when my mate rejected me and Alpha Jamie took me in and adopted me as his owndaughter, I took over the Alpha position three months ago.” I explained, hoping to ease the shock alittle.

“I'm sorry, I know that this is a lot to take in and I'm just as surprised as you are.” the tears in myeyes fell before I could stop them, I quickly swept them away and faced Hannah.

“Can I hold her?” she smiled down at the picture in the frame and nodded towards me.

“She's a spitting image of you.” She sobbed as I kneeled down and gathered my baby sister in myarms

“She is so precious.” I looked up, still in disbelief. Before me sat the two people I thought I'd lostforever. The parents I mourned for and wished back to life so many times, it all felt like a dream.“Allison...” she reached out to me to wipe the tears from my cheeks, “Oh, come here.” She wrappedher arms around both of us and together we cried, before long, we were surrounded by strongarms

“Mom, Dad, if this is all just a dream I want to tell you that I love you.” I cried harder, wishing I couldfreeze this moment.

“I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry that you had to face all of that alone.” I shook my head furiously, breakingout of their hold.

“It's not your fault, none of it is. You protected me, I couldn't ask for better parents.” Dad turned myhead to face him.

“This is so surreal, never in my life would I have guessed that I was a father to such a wonderfulyoung lady, but it's not a dream. None of this is a dream.” I couldn't fathom why it felt so natural tobe in their arms after all these years, but in case I woke up in the morning and they were gone, Iheld on tighter.
