Chapter 1054

The Substitute Wife My Poor Husband is a Billionaire

Chapter 1054 Suspecting The Turner family

Janet gasped as she recalled the exhilarating details of the car accident that day. The fruit knife in herpalm slid from her grasp and to the floor as her fingers shook.

Brandon picked up the sharp fruit knife and placed it on the table. As he carefully examined Janet’sfingers, he didn’t hide his nervous expression until no wound was found on her hand.

“You should be careful.” Brandon put his arms around her shoulder and asked worriedly, “What’swrong? Is there something on your mind?”

Staring at the photo on the table, Janet asked with a frown, “Have you found the man yet?”

Brandon took a look at the photo and said, “I still haven’t found him. The man has vanished, but he waslast seen in the position depicted in the photograph.”

Janet turned to face him and her eyes widened as she grabbed his arm. “So, what are we still waitingfor? Let’s go to this location to look for him.”

After she realized that Brandon’s wound hadn’t completely healed yet, she paused and then added,

“You should stay in the hospital to recover. Sean will accompany me there.”

Brandon immediately stopped her when he heard this and bitterly said, “Honey, listen to me first, okay?” He knew Janet wanted to solve the problem as soon as possible, but they needed to remaincalm for the time being. “The location in the photo is actually an unfinished building that belongs to theTurner Group. As such, you can imagine why getting inside would be easier said than done.”

“Since it’s the unfinished building of the Turner family, why did the man appear there for no reason?”The frown on Janet’s face deepened, and her eyes were filled with confusion.

Suddenly, she looked at him and lowered her voice. “Do you think the Turner family did it?”

With a complicated twist on his eyebrows, Brandon said, “It’s hard to say anything without concreteevidence. Anyway, I’ll replace a way to deal with it. Since the Turner Group is involved, we can’t take anychances that might lead to a conflict. Let’s just wait and see.”

Janet felt deeply unsettled at the thought of having to deal with the Turner Group. After all, she wasfaced with a big problem that had no easy solution. “We’ve had our share of conflict with the Turnerfamily before. If we continue to oppose them, I’m afraid that our families will completely fall out witheach other.”

The turmoil between the Larsons and the Turners was known to almost everyone.

“No, I won’t let that happen. You just stay away from the Turner couple and Vivian for now. I’ll handlethe rest.” Although Brandon didn’t like the people of the Turner family, he was certain that Luke andCatherin would not approve of going up against the Larson Group again. “The Larson Group isundoubtedly powerful, but after Charis’ death, the partnership between the two families has beengreatly compromised. This had caused a lot of ups and downs in the real estate industry and theInternet industry at Barnes. As a result, the Turner family suffered heavy losses. Even if the Turnershave the desire to compete with the Larson Group, they will lack the necessary strength.”

Brandon was certain of it. He took Janet’s small hand in his and stroked it gently. “Even if a new conflictarises between the Larson Group and the Turner family, it must be the result of Vivian’s actions. She’smaking her own grave. Someone will punish her without my assistance.”

The two looked at each other and shouted at the same time, “Luke!”

They smiled at each other, letting the stunned expression on their faces settle down.

“You’re so smart, honey.” Brandon pinched Janet’s cheeks and added, “Even if Luke won’t do anything,I still have a backup plan. Now that Vivian is an employee of the Larson Group, she can’t escape soeasily.”

“I have faith in you,” said Janet with a relieved smile. There was no doubt in her mind that Brandonwould definitely try to minimize the damage. She stared at Brandon with her bright eyes and said,“Honey, thank you for everything you’ve done in the past few days. In fact, let me know if there isanything I can do to help you.”

Brandon understood what she was thinking. He picked up the knife on the table and peeled the skin ofan apple in his hand. “Have some fruit first.”

“Wait a minute,” said Janet, moving away from Brandon as he tried to feed her a slice of apple. She gotout of bed and rummaged through the bag of snacks on the bedside table. With a surprised look on herface, she took out a bag of onion-flavored crisps and said, “I like these a lot! I wonder why Derekbought this flavor.”

Her expression softened and she chuckled to herself.

When Janet looked up, she noticed Brandon leaning against the headboard and staring at her. Hepatted the spot beside him with a gentle smile and said, “Come on, sit on the bed and eat.”

Janet dashed over to him, snacks in her arms.

Brandon placed the sliced apple on a plate and opened the bag of crisps for her. He lovingly poked hercheek with his fingertips and said, “Don’t eat too much junk food or you’ll have a stomach ache.” With a

satisfied smile, Janet lay down on the bed with the bag of crisps and turned on the TV. Janet burst outlaughing because the TV show was so amusing.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open from the outside by a nurse, who came inside and said, “Mrs.Larson, two people claiming to be your parents are outside, waiting for you.”

Janet crumpled the bag of crisps in her hand as she jumped out of bed with incredulous eyebrowsknitting in confusion. “Who informed my parents?”
