Chapter 1148

The Substitute Wife: My Poor Husband Is A Billionaire

Chapter 1148 Cancel The Cooperation

Full of rage, Mandy ran out of Tasha’s house and drove away in her car.

Draco’s expression stayed the same, and he didn’t even bother moving an inch in her direction. Heturned to everyone and explained, “I and Mandy have known each other for a long time. She’s not abad person. She just forms biased opinions of others quite easily. I beg you to give her time to calmdown.” They all generously nodded in response.

Elizabeth had been walking in front of Janet but then turned and saw her staring back in the directionMandy had left.

“What are you staring at? Mandy has treated you so badly, yet you’re still worried about her?”

“I’m concerned about her and Draco’s conflict. I wonder how it would affect the project they are workingtogether on,” Janet whispered in response, shaking her head as she looked back. “Even though Mandyis not necessarily a bad person, she has a huge ego. It seems things aren’t over here.”

Everyone headed back to work after lunch at Tasha’s house.

Immediately Janet got to her desk, she saw the door to Draco’s office wide open.

Janet watched in silence as Draco entered the office and shut the door. He didn’t step out again afterhe entered.

Draco entered the office only to replace that half of the files on his table were missing. Mandy was likelythe one who took them.

There was a handwritten note by Mandy on his table as well, to no surprise. She had removed the filesrelated to the project they were working together and wrote that she needed to consider some designdetails.

Draco’s expression stayed the same. He phoned Mandy multiple times to no response. He phonedagain and this time her phone had been switched off. Mandy was aware how important the cooperationwas to Draco so she was capitalizing on it. Her plan was to get him to yield to her by holding the projectin the balance to pressure him.

Draco had worked many years with only a few having the guts to go against him like this.

He moved over to the water dispenser, and downed a glass of water to calm himself. He then pickedhis phone and dialed Mandy’s line again.

He was connected directly to voicemail. Draco’s eyes darkened, and he said, his voice rough, “I’ll haveto cancel Brenna’s order if you keep this up, Mandy.” His harsh voice echoed through the door despiteit being closed.

Janet was holding her pencil so tight that it snapped without her noticing. She wondered what Draco’sexpression was in his office right now.

It was impossible to knock and interrupt him at that moment.

“Focus on your work and stop looking. Mr. Wesley is really upset right now. Nothing would distract him.”Elizabeth had worked for Draco the longest among all the designers. She knew him well.

With a frown, Janet sighed. “Mandy doesn’t think before acting.”

Elizabeth could not help but smile. “Since she arrived, she’s always been trouble. Always reckless.”

She paused and then added jokingly. “Mandy just needs to gain her power back. Unfortunately, Dracowon’t give in. It’d be best if you leave them to their business and focus on your work. Oh and also, areyou done with the design for Hannah?”

Janet remembered then that she really wasn’t done with her work. Forcing herself out of her ragingthoughts, she hurriedly completed the design and sent it to Hannah.
