A luxurious Maybach sped along the winding road, heading towards the wealthiest area in Barnes.

In the warmth and comfort of the car, Janet sat at the back, her frown deepening as she listened toIan’s report through the phone. Ian told her every single suspicious move of Garrett’s.

“What? Are you sure of what you’re saying?” Janet’s eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. She just had to besure that Ian wasn’t mistaken.

“Of course, I’m sure!” Ian answered immediately. Janet stayed silent for a moment, deep in herthoughts. But Sean, who was driving, couldn’t stay quiet after what he had heard. “Mr. Harding is goingtoo far! His wife is still on her way to recovery after giving birth to his child in critical condition. How canhe, in good conscience, cheat on her?”

Janet was also angry, but she calmed down and tried to reason things out. It wouldn’t help to act out ofanger.

She caught Sean’s eyes through the rear-view mirror and shook her head for him to recover himself.

With a heavy sigh, she said into the phone, “Ian, keep this from Laney for now, okay? Let me look intoit first.”

After hanging up, she leaned back into the seat and gently massaged her temples. She was starting tofeel a headache coming on from all these.

What the hell did Kailee have on Garrett to make him acting this way?

Was Ian right? Did Garrett really cheat on Laney?

Seated by Janet in the car, Brandon watched her and sighed softly in resignation.

He had come to pick Janet up after work to take her out on a nice date. But of course, Garrett just hadto ruin it in one way or the other.

Brandon pulled Janet into his arms and rested her head on his shoulders. His kissed her hair tenderlyand murmured, “Are you okay?”

She wasn’t, and he could see that. Her chest heaved, showing how much she was ttying to calm down.

Laney underwent premature labor and hemorrhage because of Kailee. What did Garrett do? Nothing!As a matter of fact, he was still embroiled with Kailee.

Janet shook her head in confusion. Wasn’t he supposed to feel guilty towards Laney for doing this?And what about their child? Didn’t he care?

Suddenly, Janet left the warmth of Brandon’s arms as though she had thought of something and turnedto face him. “Brandon, it was one of your men who found Garrett last time, right? I need to know everydetail of what happened.” Brandon sighed and pulled out a document from the storage compartment forher as though he had been expecting this.

“You’ll replace everything you need in here. Even Kailee’s itinerary is in here.”

Indeed, Brandon had anticipated that Janet would want to look into this. So, before meeting her today,he had someone gather both Garrett and Kailee’s itinerary on that day. Janet took the document fromBrandon with apprehension, scared of what she would replace inside. The expression on Brandon’s facedidn’t really reassure her either. Did Garrett really betray Laney?

Janet took a d*eep breath, then opened the document and started going through it.

The further she went, the more shocked she got. “Oh no,” she muttered.

From what Janet was seeing, it was clear that Garrett and Kailee did go to the same place that daythough they took separate flights. That wasn’t even the worst part.

The worst part was what Janet saw on the last page of the document. It was a clear picture, showingGarrett and Kailee checking into the same hotel.

That was the same day that Laney gave birth prematurely and almost got k*illed by hemorrhage.

And while that was going on, Garrett… the scumbag, was off the grid. But now, it was obvious why hewas unreachable. That bastard was having the time of his life with Kailee. Kailee was behindeverything that happened to Laney—her premature delivery and all the complications that followed.Janet could only be grateful that she arrived on time that day. If not…

Filled with rage, Janet clutched the document so hard that her fingertips became white. Her breathingsuddenly became shallow, and came in short gasps.

“Janet!”

Brandon called in panic when he saw what was happening. He quickly asked Sean to park at the sideof the road so he could check on Janet more easily.
