Janet was inclined to agree with Brandon.

If Garrett had not been giving way to the Harding family constantly, Laney wouldn’t have been soheartbroken and broken up with Garrett so decisively, given her personality. “Are you going to helpher?” Brandon asked gently.

Janet hesitated and replied with uncertainty, “Garrett is your friend. Wouldn’t it be bad for us to helpLaney run away with the baby?”

Brandon didn’t answer her. Instead, he asked, “But what about Laney?”

Janet felt even more conflicted.

Laney was her good friend. She couldn’t ignore a good friend in need.

Not to mention, Ian had informed her that Vera had brought some bodyguards to snatch Laney’s babyaway. If Garrett and Ian had not been there, Laney could have been hurt. The future seemed bleak forLaney and her baby if things continued the way it was.

Brandon understood what Janet was thinking about. He encouraged her gently, “Janet, just do whatyou think is right. Don’t worry about Garrett and me. I won’t tell him.”

Knowing that Brandon supported her decision, she breathed a sigh of relief. She was initially worriedhe would persuade her against breaking up Garrett’s family.

She now felt clear about what she had to do.

“Thank you, Brandon,” Janet said gratefully. She wrapped her arms around Brandon’s neck, k*issinghim.

Brandon held the back of her head and returned the k*iss.

After a long time, they finally let go of each other, breathless.

“Brandon, control yourself. I’m almost out of breath! We’re still discussing something important,” Janetsaid playfully, caressing Brandon’s chest with her fingertips.

“We can talk about it later,” Brandon murmured. He took off his tie excitedly and held Janet in his arms,eagerly wanting to take her to the bed.

“No,” Janet rejected him. She hurriedly gripped Brandon’s hand and added, “I want to settle Laney’sproblem first. I’m worried about her!”

Since Janet was adamant, Brandon could only respect her wishes.

He sat on the sofa with his arms around Janet, trying his best to restrain his desires. “Anyway, there’sno need to worry too much. If Garrett and Laney break up, it’s his fault. It has nothing to do with you,”he said casually.

“I understand. But I’m worried that he might approach you for help,” Janet replied with a nod. Brandonchuckled, “He knows he’s in the wrong. He wouldn’t dare to trouble me.”

With Brandon’s assurance, Janet finally made up her mind.

She must help Laney escape from the Harding family.

However, Laney had just given birth. It would be bad for her health if there was no one to take care ofher.

As such, Janet decided to call Ian and told him her plans.

“You’re saying that Mrs. Harding wants to leave Barnes?” Ian clarified with Janet again as he wassurprised by the sudden decision.

He didn’t expect Laney to be so firm about leaving Garrett.

Janet confirmed and continued to ask, “Will you leave Barnes with her? If it’s inconvenient for you toleave, I’ll get someone else to assist her.” Ian smiled and happily agreed, “There’s no need. I’m willingto go to another city with Mrs. Harding.”

Janet never thought that Ian would agree so readily. She asked in surprise, “Do you know which cityLaney is going to? It’s far less prosperous than Barnes. “

“I’m not really concerned about the environment. It’s my job to take care of Mrs. Harding. So, I’ll helpher in any way I can,” Ian replied in a low voice.

Janet felt relieved by his words. Ian was a very capable assistant. He would definitely take good care ofLaney and her baby.

She sorted out her thoughts and related her plans to Ian.
