The Supreme God of Martial Arts -
Chapter 126 Raymond's Revenge (Part One)
Finally, faced with a truth or death situation, the Blood Wolf Teamspilled the beans pretty quickly, with no details to spare.
"All right, all right! It was Raymond!" the man blurted out. "Raymondfrom the Flaming Sun Valley hired us to kill you!" There was a briefmoment of silence as Austin took in the news.
"Hang on, WHAT? Raymond? From the Flaming Sun Valley?"
Austin was utterly confused. Of course he had heard about the FlamingSun Valley. It was touted to be the second strongest among all the fivesects in Violet Orchid Empire. In fact, people said it was even morepowerful than Sun Sect!
That was exactly why he was confused, though! As someone who wasmerely an outer disciple of the Sun Sect, why would someone from amore powerful sect want him dead? Yet here they were, even willing topay others to kill him? As far as he could remember, Austin hadn't hadany associations with the Flaming Sun Valley ever in the past.
“Hang on a second!" something suddenly struck Austin. The nameRaymond sounded a little familiar to him.
He began to search the depths of his mind, and sure enough, it wasn'tlong before the revolting face of an arrogant man came to him.
"Ah! It was this guy! The bastard!"
Austin recalled everything clearly. It had happened the day he had goneto dine in the Lotus Tavern in Peace Town, together with Evan andDenali.
Right on the main street outside the tavern, he had taught a youngruffian a good lesson. The punk had a loyal attendant with him calledWeaver. This Weaver guy and all the others were calling their master“Raymond".
Austin had never expected that he was from the Flaming Sun Valley."Tell me! Who exactly is this Raymond? What's his position in theFlaming Sun Valley?"
Austin asked with his eyebrows furrowed. It would have been a costlyaffair to arrange murder.
He was surprised that the ruffian could have afforded it and that he hadborn a grudge against him since that time. It really was unexpected thathe would go so far as to hire the Blood Wolf Team to hunt him down."He is the grandson of Flaming Sun Valley's leader,” the man from theBlood Wolf Team answered. Things made a lot more sense now, as theman continued, "and he offered us fifty thousand vital energy crystals inexchange for bringing him your head!"
The grandson of Flaming Sun Valley's leader! So that was why he hadbeen so angry.
A person with that sort of background never would have toleratedeating humble pie!
Fifty thousand vital energy crystals were a very heavy investment and itwas obvious only a very high profile person could have afforded that. Itseemed that this Raymond character was rather generous, but alsohated Austin bitterly.
"Well, well! I never thought that I have offended Flaming Sun Valley'sbaby boy. Luck be a lady!" Austin sighed, inwardly laughing at his ownself. "Looks like I am a fish in troubled waters right now! All is wellthough.”
Austin shook his head. .
"Now," he turned his attention towards the man once again, "let's talkabout that celestial energy ginseng. Tell me more about it," he askedand the man complied.
"It happened several days ago. A cultivator accidentally discovered it inan area haunted by level 3 diabolic beasts. At that time, it was beingguarded by a level 4 red blood magical python, I can't say for surewhat's up right now," the man from the Blood Wolf Team told him."According to some cultivators who have thoroughly studied thespiritual plants, this celestial energy ginseng keeps on growing andevolving all by itself. Every once in a hundred years, it would make asort of breakthrough, with one more halo surrounding it.
It is said that a ninth halo was being formed just as the ginseng wasfound. Once this stage of its cultivation has finished, it would haveabsorbed an enormous amount of vital energy from this world. Its valuewould also increase over time. People say its vital energy is of betterquality than the usual one.
There's a high possibility that numerous cultivators are keeping a closewatch on it as we speak, waiting for it to finish its final refining stage.Once the ninth halo is completely formed, they're sure to scramble forit. They will fight against each other because it is extremely valuable."Austin was quite amazed by his words. "Wow! I never knew that aginseng could make breakthroughs just like a cultivator! It is truly a rareand invaluable thing! Most mysterious indeed!"
he thought inwardly.
"Alright." Escaping from his ruminations, Austin fixed his eyes on theBlood Wolf Team with a stern look. "I am going to spare your life thistime, if you just get out of my face. But if you dare to offend me again, Iwon't show you any mercy at all!"
Austin had totally pinned down the man in front of him, and hisopponent could no longer gather even a half level blade intent now.Austin also believed that this fight was going to cast a shadow over himforever, which would prevent him from entering into a higherrefinement level in the future. He could try as hard as he liked and aslong as he wished, it was going to be of no use
Thus, there wasn't any possibility that the man could pose any threat tohim.
With that in mind, he decided not to kill him.
Austin then turned on his heels without so much as a look at him. However, he had hardly taken just a few steps before his spiritual senseperceived something. The man was secretly and softly drawing out acylindrical thing from under his clothes. Austin frowned at once. Fromwhat he could sense, it felt like a signal shell.
It looked like the man wasn't going to give up on the idea of killing him50 S00.
Austin turned back swiftly and made a lunge. He was back in front ofthe man in the blink of an eye, before the man could even grab thesignal shell properly.
"You asked for it this time!"
As soon as Austin finished speaking, his arm flung forwards and struckthe man right in his stomach. It was such a powerful punch that eventhe air around seemed to shake with its force.
The signal shell was flung into the air instantly, and so was the manfrom the Blood Wolf Team. He spat blood out of his mouth as hisinternal organs ruptured and the bones in his chest got smashed intopieces. He seemed to have been punched by an army all together. Hecouldn't even feel it as he died instantly. Flying through the air, hisbody hit the ground 50 feet away like a sack of potatoes. And there helay motionless and lifeless with his eyes still open, gazing out from thehole his corpse had made when it had fallen on the ground.
Austin's punch was strong enough to beat a level 3 violent ape, acreature famously known for its strength, to a pulp.
And this time, its target was a mere weakling of a human body. Eventhough the man was a cultivator who had refined himself all the way tothe Energy Gathering Realm, his flesh was still vulnerable. Andcompared to the tough skins of demonic or diabolic beasts, his skinand flesh were like butter.
