Chapter 190 A Crisis For The Li Family (Part One)

The package was still lying intact slap bang in the center of the hall. Itseemed to be bulging with something.

Thanks to what had happened just now, everyone in the hall nowclearly knew that whatever was inside it, it certainly wasn't a birthdaypresent. It had to be something special and sinister.

Lots of people looked at the package with curious gazes, wonderingwhat could have been sent with death packed along with it.

"You! Come here and unwrap the package. Let me see what's in it."Lanny ordered a servant who was standing beside him.

Even though the servant had witnessed a man die just by touching thepackage, he did not dare to disobey Lanny's order. He clearly knew howatrocious Lanny was. And besides, Lanny was quite angry after seeingthat arrow, and therefore, if the servant disobeyed him, what waitedhim was certain death anyhow. Therefore, he had to walk towards thepackage.

The servant kicked the package hesitantly but nothing specialhappened this time. He then stretched out his hand to unwrap thepackage. This time, no poisoned arrow shot out from it. Instead,something rolled out from the package when it was unwrapped.Something bloody, something hairy. A head!

Everyone in the hall had been gazing at the package and as soon asthey saw what was inside, they all stood up and exclaimed in surprise.The head was familiar to them all.

"Benson!"

"Brother Benson!"

"It is Benson!"

No one in the hall wanted to believe what he was seeing, but it was asclear as day.

The head was Benson's. He was Lanny's third son.

Lanny had three sons. They were Ellison, Logan and Benson. But now,there were only two.

When Lanny saw his son's bloody head roll down in front of him, hetrembled slightly and his face turned a curious shade of red and pale.Ellison and Logan were also staring at their brother's bloody head withsadness and anger.

Especially Logan, who was walking up and down, with his fists clenchedtight. His green veins stood out on the back of his hands and it lookedlike he wanted to smash something.

"Who killed my brother? I swear I am going to peel off his skin and fryhis bone!"

The other people of Li Family were also full of righteous indignation.The Li Family had been considered superior in Valley Town over thespan of several years. They had never made a promise they couldn'tkeep and they always felt superior to others no matter where they were.Up till now, no one had dared to disrespect Li Family and lived to tellthe tale.

But now, someone had killed the Family's head's son, and sent hisbloodied head as a package, which was direct humiliation for Li Family."Dad, there seems to be a letter in the package.”

Ellison suddenly exclaimed, pointing towards the paper that lay inside.On hearing Ellison's words, everyone looked towards the package. Theytoo, saw a piece of paper in the box.

"Open the letter."

Lanny was in a towering rage at the moment, but he looked calm. Hehad already sworn to himself that he was going to replace the killer nomatter what it cost him and torment that bastard in the cruelest waypossible.

The servant immediately picked it up and skimmed through it. Thecontents seemed to stupefy him, and he looked at Lanny with aquestioning look.

"Read it out! I want to know who has dared to kill my son!"

Lanny ordered coldly. People who knew him well understood from histone that he was extremely irritated now.

"I'd like to invite the Li Family to witness something: Today I have givenBenson's head to Lanny, the head of the Li Family, as his birthdaypresent. I hope you all will like it. In addition, since the Li Family haskilled so many people of the Zhang Family, we are going to make youpay for it hard. And our retribution is going to be ten times as bloodyas you are. "How is it possible that the killer was from the Zhang Family? I haveheard the that there were 300 to 400 people in the Zhang Family atfirst, but less than twenty remained who survived that massacre. Theyare so weak at the moment that it simply isn't feasible for them to takerevenge.”

Someone in the hall exclaimed loudly.

"Well, since the killer is a remnant of the Zhang Family, I will kill the lotof them. I have searched for them in vain for a long time; it is really abig surprise that they have dared to declare war on me.”

Lanny gnashed his teeth in anger.

"Everyone, listen to me carefully. Finding out this surviving supporter ofthe Zhang Family is your task and our top priority. We must spare noeffort and leave no stones unturned in trying to replace them out. We willkill all who remain of that family!"

"My lord, some bad news."

Just as Lanny had ended his words, a member of the Li Family, who wasof middle age, rushed into the assembly hall and shouted from the gateitself.

"What is the matter?”

That man had always been sober and composed, but right now, helooked fluttered, which was why Lanny had a bad feeling.

"Three of our gambling houses, two whorehouses, two grain stores, andone pawnshop in the town have been burned down.”

"What?"

Lanny was shocked at the news. He felt desperate as if his world hadfrozen around him.

The stores which the man had mentioned were the most profitablestores of the Li Family, and they had all been destroyed in one go.Lanny was struck with fright.

"Call out all the people of our family! We are going to replace theremaining people of the Zhang Family and kill them all!"

Lanny's voice was full of anger now and echoed in the meeting hallfuriously.

One-third of the Li Family's stores in Valley Town had been destroyedby a dozen men clad completely in black. The men had broken intothose stores, killed off any members of the family who happened to beinside, and burned the buildings down.

When the family sent out people to replace the perpetrators, they wentinto hiding without leaving any trace at all.

This event caused a great uproar in Valley Town. The people of the LiFamily searched for these killers in every nook and cranny and upturnedevery house, but always drew a blank.
