Chapter 15

Zack’s POV

Waking up with a headache, I take in my surroundings. I have no idea where I am. I am in a low-lit room that smells of bleach and mold. I am laying on a hospital bed. I try to move and the pain radiating from my back is unmistakable. The events from last night unfold in my mind. I remember feeling razors slice through my back and being thrown into a wall. Then everything went black. ‘Where am I and how did I get here’ I ask myself. I slowly start to get up and lay eyes on someone sitting in the corner. It is Charles.

“Where am I?” I ask gruffly.

“I brought you to our rouge wolf hospital. I went to grab a late meal for the wolves, and I watching your place and returned to see the wolf’s dead. I heard the commotion in the house and when I saw the girl being carried away, I came looking for you. I found you unconscious and got you out of the house before they came back to kill you. It seems the doctor informed the Alpha of where the girl was.”

“Thank you for getting me out. I owe you. I guess we need to come up with a new plan for me to get Emily back” I say back to him.

He gets up to move closer to me. “I have been thinking about that and I have an idea for you if you are interested in learning more about it.”

I make a hand gesture for him to continue.

“I was thinking you need to be on more common ground with the werewolves instead of just hiring wolves to help you. I happen to know a few vampires and one may be willing to turn you, for the right price. The upside is that you will be quicker than a wolf, have the same strength, more healing powers, and you can bend a wolfs mind to your will. The downside is that once you are turned you will have to wait to go after your girl until you gain control of your b***d l**t. It could take you a few years to gain control over yourself. This is an option for you if you want to think about it.” He continues

“No need for me to think about it. I will do it if it means I can have Emily back. If I can bend her mind to forget about her wolf lover, that is even better.” I state to him matter of fact.

“I think you are making a great decision. I will seek out a vampire to turn you. Until then I would suggest you stay here and recover from your injuries. I will come back for you once I replace a vampire to turn you.” He tells me and leaves me alone.

I lay back down and begin to picture my new life. Having the option to bend Emily’s mind will work perfectly. I will be able to make her the perfect partner. A smile forms on my face as I picture our future life together. If only the wolf would have told me about this option, the first time around. I would have taken it instantly. ‘Enjoy your time together now little wolves. I will destroy your world again soon.’ I think to myself before falling asleep.

Braxton’s POV

I have wolves searching for Emily’s captor everywhere. Rouge wolves are notorious for covering their tracks and outsmarting pack wolves. It will be difficult to replace him if he has the help of rouges. I will not give up. I know Emily will not feel safe until her captor is dead and I will always have worry on my shoulders for her and our pup’s safety. Pulling me out of my thoughts the doctor walks into the waiting room.

“Alpha, we were able to stop and control Lunas bleeding, but she has lost a lot of b***d. We found significant damage from her rape while in surgery and are not sure if she will be able to ever have any more children. We lost her twice on the table, but we were able to revive her.”

He pauses, and then looks at me with saddened eyes. “Alpha…. There is no guarantee she will ever wake up again. The swelling in her brain from the blunt trauma she received plus the amount of b***d she has lost has damaged her. Only time will tell.”

His words make me knees buckle and bring me to the floor. I cannot lose her. I just got her back. Our pups and I need her. I will not ever give up on her. “Can I see her?” Is all I can say.

Nurses bring me to a room and Emily is laying so peacefully on the hospital bed in the middle. She has machines all around her making noise and monitoring her. Even through all the bruises, cuts, and b***d she looks so peaceful. I pull a chair up beside her and grab her hand. “Please come back to me. I cannot do this without you. You are the only reason my heart beats.”

Emily’s parents walk into the room and all I hear is her mom start sobbing. Her father comes to my side and rests a hand on my shoulder. “She will wake up son. We have to believe that.”

“I’ll never give up on the fact of her waking up. I know she will. She won’t leave me or our pups.” I say back to him.

Her parents sit on the opposite side of me in silence. I do not want to talk. I just want to listen to Emily’s heartbeat and think of the good times we will have once she wakes up. I have the nurse bring in our pups so her parents can meet them. Emily’s mother is the first to break the silence. “Have you thought of any names for the babies?” She asks me.

“No. I can’t imagine picking names out for them without Emily.” I say back to her.

After a moment of silence, she speaks up wearily to me. “Braxton…. I know this is hard to hear. This is hard for me to say, but Emily would want them to have names…. What if she does not wake up? She says. Her words breaking at the end of her sentence.

“She WILL wake up. I can’t decide names without her.” I saw with an edge to my voice.

“I’m sorry Braxton. You’re right.” She says back

Emily’s parents leave shortly after to give me some time with Emily and our pups. They tell me they will be back in a few hours to check on us. After they leave the nurse comes in offering to take the pups back to the nursery. My low growl is enough to make her leave the room without a word. I reluctantly leave Emily’s side to pick up my pups placing one in each arm. They both settle in and fall back to sleep. I slide as close as I can to Emily and fall asleep holding our pups in my arms.
