The Treasure Hunter and The Mirror -
Chapter 9
Walter sat up as he coughed violently, he spat out sand and dust from his throat as he was growing accustom to. But something was off…what was it? Walter looked at his hand and saw this mechanical thing attached to it. It looked like a sword or something that had been combined to his body.
“Agh!” Walter said as he looked at it. “AGH!” Walter yelped again when he looked at his other hand saw the same thing. He looked down at his body and saw that of a robot!
“What the hell?” Walter said his voice sounding robotic as well.
He followed the mural exactly, he did all the steps. How did this happen? Maybe there as more to it than what he had thought. But how? He even went into the mirror naked! There had to something else something else that he was not thinking about or it could be that he wasn’t thinking about it because he did not even suspect it.
Walter got up and used his enhance speed to make himself to the murals. He looked around saw the drawing of the monkey on the mace it had a new set of numbers 178. It read, Walter looked at the numbers and using his processing of a computer he had here he was able to decipher that the letters were AGH.
Walter felt strange his robotic mind was processing this data at a million miles per second. He quickly figured out that the clues were on monkey’s Arm, gut, and hand. He looked at all of them and process that the monkey was pointing behind Walter from one of its hands.
Walter turned around facing opposite of where the monkey was, and he saw that directly across the monkey in this mural was an opening. Walter processed the information and he headed in that direction. He triangulated and calculated the exact jump he needed to get to opening and he made it there with ease.
This was such a weird feeling for Walter. Everything was just processing on its own, far and beyond that which he was ever accustomed to. He felt that he didn’t need to even think the solutions were just coming to him. Walter figured that since he had this enhanced thought process then he could use it to figure out what he was doing wrong.
Walter looked over the mural to make sure he didn’t miss anything. He didn’t see anything that was obvious. His scans didn’t show anything worth merit. He looked around at the other murals. Here in this dimension, even the man who walked out of the mirror was a robot. Walter scanned that mural he didn’t see anything of merit.
Walter then walked over to the mirror that was in the mural room before going into the one that the monkey-man pointed to. Walter scanned the mirror. He looked at the frame, he looked at the strange runes all over the mirror and he started to look them over. He noticed something that he had not noticed before. There were these numbers. Walter wondered what would happen if he touched the numbers he saw on the monkey’s mace.
Walter walked over to the mirror and touched the number one then the number seven then the number eight. When Walter did this the swirl in the mirror suddenly inverted. It was spinning in the other direction now. Walter scanned the swirl to make sure there was nothing else that he was missing, he didn’t see anything.
Walter looked back at the murals he double checked his readings from earlier. He was growing tired of this, all he wanted to do was go back home he didn’t care if he never collected that billion credits reward at this point. This jumping around through the dimension was getting the best of him. Walter gave a sigh, who knew robots sighed he thought. So, he put robotic hand to the mirror.
