Meanwhile, Tyshawn, confident in his disguise, made his way to Franco’s ward.

Dotson had returned to the ward, briefing the bodyguards outside.

Franco, who had woken up and started recovering over the past few days, was aware of the plan.

Hearing Dotson’s report, he felt a twinge of disappointment but remained silent.

The hospital was eerily silent, especially after nightfall.

The fire from the previous night made tonight even quieter.

Tyshawn, dressed in a doctor’s uniform with a hat and mask, walked down the corridor.

His disguise was convincing enough that no one could recognize him.

He made his way through the silent halls and paused outside Franco’s ward.

Adjusting his glasses, he announced, “Ward check.

The two bodyguards exchanged a look and signaled for Tyshawn to stop.

“Why are you making your rounds at this hour?” one of them asked.

“This is the special care unit,” the other added.

“And this ward is exclusive to the Mitchell family.

Only the one doctor or nurse is allowed in this area for any given time.

Tyshawn snorted derisively.

“I am a doctor.

Just because it’s nighttime doesn’t mean we don’t make our rounds anymore.

Don’t you know that patients tend to get unstable during the night?”

Hearing this, the guard silently convened with each other again.

After a brief moment, they stepped aside and pushed the door open.

Tyshawn began to walk in, but then he paused and asked, “Is there a family member inside? It won’t be appropriate to check the patient with their guardian present.

“No, Doctor.

Tyshawn was delighted to hear that, but he maintained his calm expression.

“Excellent.

After walking inside, he took a moment to observe his surroundings.

When he saw that nothing was amiss, he breathed a sigh of relief and proceeded to the ward.

Once inside the room, he scanned his surroundings yet again.

He only relaxed when he was sure that the ward was empty except for Franco, who lay sleeping on the bed.

Tyshawn produced a syringe from his pocket, its tube filled with a clear liquid, and slowly approached the hospital bed.

“Don’t blame me for this, Grandpa,” he whispered coldly.

“I won’t live a good life as long as you’re alive.

But just as he towered over the bed, Franco suddenly opened his eyes.

Tyshawn was so startled that he stumbled a few steps back.

“Grandpa?”
