Remington, lounging on his sofa with a glass of wine in a darkened room, asked, “Are we talking about Mr.

Mitchell’s business or your recent dealings with me? I hear Miss Moore recently faced some difficulties in Cadilind.

“It’s quite considerate of you to be concerned about me from abroad, Mr.

Lyons,” Hannah said with a smile.

Hearing this, Remington chuckled and asked, “Isn’t it natural for me to care about you, Miss Moore? After all, we’re friends, and…”

He paused for a moment before adding, “I have a deep affection for you.

Ignoring the last remark, Hannah asked, “Did you instruct the Moreno family in Muvrand to oppose the Mitchell Group?”

“Miss Moore, you might be overthinking.

The Moreno Group there is unrelated to us.

The Lyons family can’t control everyone.

Sure, I know the Moreno family, but I have no ties to them.

After saying this, Remington then inquired, “Aren’t you planning to return to Caditown and honor our agreement?”

“I still have unfinished matters here, so I won’t be going back just yet,” Hannah replied.

“Is it about Bryson? You were once at odds with him, but now you’re going all out for him, It seems you really care for Mr.

Mitchell, right?” Remington asked.

His voice carried a hint of amusement.

“But what of your engagement to the Pierce family? It complicates things with Mr.

Mitchell, doesn’t it? Trust me, that’s not good.

Wallace mentioned you can only inherit the Compton family if you marry Maloney.

Are you considering breaking our agreement?”

Hannah replied coolly, “Who I choose to be with is not for Wallace or you to decide, Mr.

Lyons.

As for the Pierce family marriage, it’s my concern.

As long as I eventually inherit the Compton family, I’LL uphold our agreement.

Before ending the call, Hannah warned, “Since the Moreno family isn’t connected to you, if anything happens to them, don’t blame me for taking action without prior notice.

”

“They’re not my concern.

You may handle them as you see fit,”

Remington responded.

With a darkened expression, he added, “However, I must stress that regardless of who you want to help, I won’t act against the Mitchell family as long as you uphold our agreement.

”

“Of course I will address our business once my tasks here are completed.

”

After hanging up, Hannah remained unsettled for a while.

Even though Remington denied any connection to the Moreno family, the situation seemed more complex.

But…

Hannah decided that the Moreno family’s actions were likely due to Remington’s indirect support.

He wasn’t planning to confront Bryson directly.

Moreover, he assured her that he wouldn’t take any action against Bryson today.

She had no reason to doubt his word.
