Gratefully, Hannah took the towel and skillfully wrapped the wound, staunching the flow of blood.

Within minutes, the sound of sirens heralded the arrival of an ambulance.

Medical personnel rushed into the kitchen where the makeshift triage was happening.

Firefighters and police officers arrived almost simultaneously, quickly extinguishing the flames engulfing the rear of the car and averting further disaster.

Once the medical team had transferred the bodyguard to the ambulance, Hannah took a moment to gather herself before surveying the damage at the restaurant’s entrance.

Bryson was already speaking with the police, aiding in their initial inquiries.

Seeking further clues, Hannah approached the still-shaken restaurant manager.

“Do you have security cameras at the front of your restaurant?” she inquired, her tone indicating the urgency of verifying the events leading up to the incident.

“Yes,” the manager responded promptly, eager to assist.

He led Hannah toward the surveillance system.

“Please wipe your hands.

” The restaurant manager noticed the almost dried blood on Hannah’s hands and quickly grabbed a wet towel from the side, offering it to her.

“Here, Miss Moore.

“Thank you,” Hannah replied, wiping her hands with the towel before following the manager to review the surveillance footage of the incident.

Bryson’s car was meticulously maintained, making a brake failure highly unlikely without external interference.

This, coupled with the bodyguard’s last words before losing consciousness, intensified Hannah’s suspicions that the crash was no accident.

From the restaurant’s surveillance footage, Hannah watched as the car drove straight toward them.

The video showed no signs of the driver losing control other than the failed brakes.

“Can I watch the surveillance footage from the underground parking lot?” she asked, hoping to gather more evidence.

The manager looked apologetic as he responded, “We don’t have access to that here, Miss Moore.

You might have to request that from the police.

“Understood.

” Hannah nodded.

“Please be assured, we’ll cover any damages from today.

“Thank you, Miss Moore.

Let me know if there’s anything else you need,” the manager said, relieved.

“Go and look after your staff.

They must be shaken,” Hannah suggested, turning her attention back to the ongoing police investigation outside.

As she approached, the police were still questioning Bryson.

One of the officers noticed her approach and paused to address her.

“Officers, since you’re here, could you assist us with checking the surveillance from the underground parking lot?”

The officers exchanged a glance, then one replied, “No problem.

Bryson, grasping the gravity of the situation, accompanied the police and Hannah to view the surveillance footage from the underground parking lot.

As they watched, it became clear that foul play was involved.

The footage revealed a man stealthily approaching Bryson’s car shortly after Hannah had entered the restaurant.

Using another car as cover, he tampered with Bryson’s vehicle.

The police paused the video, highlighting the suspect’s face, and turned to Hannah and Bryson.

“Do either of you recognize this person?”

Both studied the unfamiliar face.

Neither had seen him before.

Hannah shook her head in negation, and Bryson confirmed, “I’ve never seen him before.

Concerned, Hannah asked the officers, “Can you catch him?”

“Yes, his face is clearly visible.

We should be able to apprehend him soon.

Don’t worry,” one officer reassured them.

“We’ll take a copy of this footage back to the station for further analysis and keep you updated on any developments.

With the immediate issue addressed, Hannah and Bryson exited the restaurant to replace Brayden’s car waiting outside.
