The Unshackled Queen: Never Say Never -
Chapter 1935
Glancing at Bryson, she added, “Remember, though, those who defy Bryson’s decisions in the future won’t have it easy.
”
Her words, though playful, carried a weight that made everyone tense.
The shareholders exchanged nervous glances, realizing the formidable pair they were dealing with.
No one fancied meeting themselves on the duo’s bad side.
Bryson tapped his fingers on the table and said coolly, “If there are no further issues, this meeting is adjourned.
”
In the meeting room, the last shareholder packed up their things and left.
The tension in the room evaporated.
It was just the four of them now-Bryson, Hannah, Yosef, and Dotson.
Bryson turned to Yosef, his tone firm.
“You two, wait outside.
”
“Yes, Mr.
Mitchell,” Yosef replied, and with a quick nod, he and Dotson slipped out of the room.
Outside, they exchanged a glance, a silent understanding passing between them as they stood guard at the door.
Inside the meeting room, Bryson’s gaze locked onto Hannah’s.
“Why are you here?” he asked, his voice softer than before.
Hannah took a breath and began recounting the day’s events, her tone steady.
“Everyone involved has been captured, including Melina.
Dilan will take her back soon.
I thought I’d come by and see if there was anything else I could do.
I didn’t expect to walk into a battlefield.
”
Bryson rose from his seat, his tall frame towering over her.
With a fluid motion, he stepped closer, wrapping an arm around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.
His voice was low, almost tender.
“I booked you a flight for the day after tomorrow.
”
The sound of her slap echoed in the room.
Hannah pushed him away, her eyes flashing with anger.
“So, you’ve already decided everything without me?” she snapped.
Bryson, usually so composed and unyielding, faltered under her glare.
He glanced away, his guilt palpable.
“I just want you to be safe.
Let me handle things here.
You should go abroad, get away from all this.
”
“Do you even hear yourself?” Hannah’s voice was sharp, cutting through the silence.
“You keep making decisions for me like I’m some fragile thing that needs protecting.
But you don’t get to decide whether I stay or go.
That’s my choice, not yours.
And if you can’t respect that, then there’s nothing more to say.
”
She turned on her heel, ready to leave, but before she could take a step, Bryson grabbed her arm, pulling her back into his embrace.
His grip was firm, almost desperate, and his scent-cold, familiar— wrapped around her like a blanket.
“Let go of me.
” Hannah’s voice was cold, cutting through the tension like a blade.
Bryson tightened his grip slightly, his voice low and burdened.
“I know you’re angry,” he admitted, his tone almost defeated.
“I don’t want you to leave either, but with the Chadwich family taken down, it’s the safest option right now.
Nowhere else can guarantee your safety.
”
His words were uncharacteristically soft, each one carefully chosen.
Bryson wasn’t one to explain himself, but with Hannah, he always found himself saying more than he intended.
