The Unwanted Luna
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 53

-POV

Ayame-

Once the four of us finally made it back to the pack house, I was not expecting the first people to 'welcome' us home would be my triplet's mother...their sister...Malerie...and for goddess sake! Adolpha?! I glanced at Charlie and Poppa Oden, who were fuming behind them, along with

Kyle, Vince, and Emily.

"Oh, this will be good!" Kyle growled menacingly while Vil smirked behind me.

"Where have you three been?! And do not even get me started on the fact that you put poor Adolpha in the dungeon?!" Their mother shrieked. "All because of some damaged child?!"

All three men behind me and all four men in front of me growled enough to raddle the pack house. Forcing all those around us to either show their necks or bow in submission. "Would you like to try that statement again, mother, or would you like to return to the dungeons along with your daughter and Adolpha?" Conri said with the calmest voice I have ever heard from him, but if it wasn't for his hand intertwined with mine, I would be terrified of that tone of voice coming from his lips.

Their mother stuttered for a minute with an incoherent jumble of words forming from her lips. Then, she finally shot her glare towards me, enraged with violent yellow eyes like... Edon?! Wait...she's a werebear?! I felt my breath hitch almost immediately and my fear made her whole demeanor shift from angry to a smug victory. "I think you have this all wrong Conri. The only person who should be going to the dungeons is your supposed mate."

"Enough of this, Donna!" The Alpha Father shouted. It didn't seem right to call him anything else at that moment. The power radiating off that Lycan was more than enough for me to not even second guess that decision. "You went against your current alphas and pulled those two traitors out of their cells, assuming that your current and previous alphas would take your side on this? That is treason. I cannot condone this even if you are my chosen mate." Chosen?!

Luna Mother Donna turned to him in shock. "How could you speak to me in such a way?! Chosen or otherwise, I am your mate, Connery, and she is a vermin that needs to be extinguished! Many paragraphs are missing. Read the complete book on Jo-b n-1 b. c (o) m. As the Luna Mother, I have a say in this matter as well!" She shouted again in this ridiculously whiney voice of hers.

"With all due respect, Luna Mother. You should probably stop while you are ahead." Kyle interjected, but the way he was talking almost sounded the same as Conri's response. Cold, calm and calculated. Completely terrifying.

I felt a shiver fall down my spine as the stand off continued in the middle of the pack house's main floor living space. The three of them against the eight of us. How did they think they would win in this situation? A lightbulb went off and I realized exactly how they thought they would win here. "You.... You three really did think you could get them on your side." I said in nothing higher than a whisper, but I - again - forgot about their freakish hearing.

"That will never happen." The triplets answered with all their rage pointed at the woman they called mother and the other they called a sister. I'm not too sure what they were calling Adolpha at the moment, but it could not have been anything good.

Luna Mother chuckled darkly as her once vibrant blue eyes remained a sickening yellow. "You don't have a say in the matter. You may be the alphas now, but I'm sure you are aware that I am your mother!" She is right. How could they go against their own mother? I...I don't know how to feel about this.

The triplets stared at her for a moment, then they moved me around the childish women and walked up to Kyle. "Welcome back Alphas." Kyle said with a big smile. Then he tapped my nose. "Sup, Luuuna." He added playfully.

I smiled up at him. "Hey Kyle." I don't know why, but I picked up on the vibe that they were just going to ignore them. I don't know if this is the best course of action, but I'm not going to go against the alphas right now. We just fixed everything. Reverting back to our old ways is not a choice right now.

"Any updates?" Conri asked.

"Unfortunately. They are on their way here. He brought about ten guards with him, which seems like an awful lot for a friendly alliance chat." Vince chimed in.

"How are we with the boarders?" Vil turned to his gamma, and he nodded once.

"Doubled up patrol but it's not how I thought. There aren't any attacks at the moment. Like...it was before." Vince rubbed his chin. "Do you think the idiot is getting too cocky?"

Edon groaned. "Probably."

"Let's finish this in the office. Hey Charlie, would you mind escorting them back to the dungeons and take my mother with them. We will deal with that headache another day." Conri said again with that calculated tone.

I bit my lip, desperately wanting to say something, but my thoughts shot from undermining them to the anger misdirection and I chose the safest bet. Staying silent. "Of course, Alpha. With pleasure." Charlie smirked dryly and shoved Adolpha and Malerie out of the door first. "Don't try anything stupid or being demoted to a shittier cell will be the least of your problems." He growled threateningly.

"I'll help Charlie, my boy." Poppa Oden called, showing his happy-go-lucky attitude again.

"How could you do this to your own wife?!" Donna shrieked and he winked at us before slinging her over his shoulder.

"I've been wanting to do this for years." He growled and disappeared after Charlie.

I turned back to the guys and all five of them were looking at me with concern. "Wh...what?" I asked.

"Oh, don't worry about them. They are still worried about your mental state, which is to be expected. I don't know how you deal with those three always popping up like crab grass." Emily said, throwing herself on top of my shoulders. "I'm so happy to see you!!!" She shouted in my I giggled and tried to toss her off. "I'm fine guys, I just want to make sure you three are okay. I know it's not easy to do this."

ear.

Conri's hands rested on his hips, and he looked up towards the exposed wooden ceiling. "I wish I could say it was, but it isn't. I don't know where we went wrong with those two. Adolpha is my problem, but she shouldn't keep doing this to herself. Both her and Malerie would have been released in a week, but now...now they might be facing a death sentence." He shook his head in disappointment and headed upstairs.

"Alpha floor. Got it." Kyle called, running after him.

"Let's go, princess." Edon ushered me to him and Emily finally let go.

"I'll meet you guys there with snacks." She added.

I beamed. "Can I -" I was about to ask if I could help, but then I remembered my promise to the guys. "I mean, can you bring some sandwiches too? I'm starving." I said, smiling up at Edon, who immediately sighed in relief.

"You got it Luuuuuna!" Emily called over her shoulder, mocking her mate.

I started up the stairs, happy that I could finally make it up all five flights without the need to catch my breath. "Now that mom has officially lost it, we can add that to the list of problems." Vil said behind me.

I wanted this to work. Everything between me and the triplets, but the longer we stay together, the more pain ensues. Edon pushed open the door to their office and I filed in. Conri stood up from his desk and walked up to me. He rested his hands on my cheeks and stared at me seriously. "Do not do that. This is not your fault."

I nodded slowly. "It is my fault. Your mother hates me and you might have to kill her because of it.

"No one is above the law, little one."

"Then why do I feel like that rule does not apply to me? You are willing to kill for me."

He let his hands fall and I looked down at my feet. "I am not willing to let anything harm you. I will not kill needlessly, but if anyone harms our pack or our ranked members, it is our right to remove them."

"Then remove them. Don't kill them." I countered.

He rubbed his face and pursed his lips before sighing. "Angel, that might not be the safest option. Malerie and our mother are very vindictive people. They don't see the good in people and they sure as hell see everyone as the bad guy. Letting them go might be the death of us." "It could be, but then we will deal with that then. Please, for me. Keep them in the dungeon, then banish them. I don't want you three to live with the memory of killing your mother and sister." I begged, finally replaceing my voice. This was important to me. I...I cannot be the reason for this horrible memory.

"Okay...we will think about it, princess."

The three of them looked hesitant but at least they heard me out. "Now! Let's discuss the other asshole at hand." Kyle said, removing some of the tension.

I smirked and plopped myself on the couch. "Which one?"

"The one that's on his way to the pack house." Vince added.

"Right...Chaz." I rolled my eyes.

"Yes, him. The main goal is to keep Ayame out of sight." Conri ordered, sitting on the arm rest while Edon and Vil sat on either side of me.

"I agree. We will need to keep our eyes peeled for anything suspicious and, even with the guard increase on the borders, we need to keep our security close just in case." Kyle said, laying out a map.

"So, how do you plan on making this happen? I can't just disappear."

"No you can't, but Prince Chaz doesn't need to know that." Vince said deviously.

"What did we miss?" Charlie asked a bit out of breath, while Poppa Oden followed in behind. I glanced up to see his split lip and held back the urge to help. He glanced at me knowingly and shook his head. "Don't worry about it, Luna."

Don't worry about it.... It seems to be the thing they all want to say these days. Either way...it only makes this hurt even more. The more they say it... the more I feel like a burden, too weak to do anything else.
