The Unwanted Luna -
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 73
-POV
Ayame-
After she was dragged to the dungeons, I could breathe again. It was like something was choking me the entire time she talked. I knew she hated me. I knew Malerie hated me, but everything she was doing just seemed completely ridiculous. "Ayame?" Edon was holding my hand while I focused my attention back on him.
"Stupid bitch!" Vil growled and stood to his feet, thrusting the office chair into the wall behind him. "I mean did she really think we wouldn't have caught her? I'm sorry, angel. Even if you didn't tell us, I'm sure we would have noticed something was off." "Yes, but when? Before or after Ayame took the poison?" Conri said, leaning back in his chair.
"That's irrelevant. The good thing is, we caught her and they thought Edon was the one to mark her first. That might work in our benefit." Vince added.
"It could, but it could also backfire. Wolves only need wolfsbane to weaken or kill us. Werebears need one of the most deadliest plants around, nightshade. We could prevent problems with wolfsbane, but nightshade is a whole different level." Charlie sighed reluctantly.
"Yes, but you heard the conversation. Maybe if you could get back down there before the Luna Ceremony, you could be her escort." Conri chimed in. This book has many missing chapters and scenes if you're not reading it on [J] o b nib.c[o] m "If you think that's a good idea. She does have a witch on her side now. We need to know who that is so we can remove the problem before it gets worse. That complicates things."
"But how did she even replace a witch? Like we said before, that house is on twenty-four-hour watch. They are on twenty-four-hour watch. How did a witch get in there without us knowing?" Vince mumbled, trying to put the pieces together in his mind. "Yes, I agree with Vince, but -" Conri started.
"Alright cub, let's get this over with!" My heart literally dropped out of my chest when my dad burst into the room in workout clothes, smiling from ear to ear. "What?" Conri growled.
After a moment, Edon started laughing and Conri looked between the two of them curiously. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I had to deal with some alpha business this morning with my brothers, but yeah, we can get this over with." Edon turned back to me and the worry fell again. "Talk to me, princess."
I shook my head. "No, it's fine. I'm fine. Let's go." I said breathlessly before hopping off of Vil's desk and rushing out of the room.
Now I not only have to deal with getting my memories back, I now have the Luna ceremony, shifting for the first time, and the possibility of imminent death or imprisonment. I'm going to lose it. I didn't get past the third floor before I was picked up and I screamed and literally punched them in the face and they dropped me immediately. I skidded onto my feet and turned to see who it was. My face paled and I slapped my hand over my lips. "I'm so sorry Kyle! I didn't mean to!"
Everyone else was laughing behind them and I'm glad they thought this was funny! "Okay, you have a serious right hook. Damn, my eye." He huffed but I could tell he was already healing.
"Don't do that to me then!" I heaved through the harsh breathing.
"It's okay. I don't think he realized you were so deep in thought." Charlie said mockingly.
"Keep it up and you will be the next one in the ring." Kyle growled.
Charlie's eyes flashed. "Challenge accepted.
Vince, Charlie, and Kyle bolted around me and the triplets and my dad looked down at me concerned. "I'm fine!" I shouted back and ran after them.
"You're right, Ayame. We will be fine." My wolf cooed.
We need to be.
The crowd around the mat was huge! It was like all the warriors stopped to watch this fight. After a while, Vil put me on his shoulders and I was blushing bright red, feeling like a child, but he was big enough to hold me so...I guess it was okay? I pressed down all my concern about the conversation earlier and rooted for both Edon and my dad, almost falling off a couple times. "Angel, hold still." Vil grunted.
I giggled and rested my hand on his head. "No!"
He squeezed my thighs and I gasped at the contact. "You still haven't gotten your punishment from yesterday, do you really want to make it worse?"
His wolf hummed in my mind. I flinched and kept my body as still as I could. "No, sir." I whimpered.
He slowly petted my thigh as a low growl fell from his lips. "Good girl. Now focus on the fight." He ordered and I nodded before turning back to Edon and my dad.
In this round, my dad had flipped Edon, but he got right back up and clocked dad in the jaw. I winced at the pain they should be experiencing, but the both of them just kept going. Finally, Edon pinned my dad and he tried his best to get free but Vince called the match and both of them collapsed.
I flipped off of Vil's back, landing on the balls of my feet and ran over to the two of them. "Thank you." I whispered to my wolf, knowing the agility was all because of her.
She giggled and I turned to look at those two. "You guys are crazy!" I shouted and they both looked at me before looking at each other and laughing. I huffed irritably. "I'm serious. What would have happened if you two actually really hurt each other?"
My dad started laughing harder and turned on his side. "I think we did." He said breathlessly. "Yeah...I need a doctor."
I felt the tears prick in my eyes and Edon rested his hand on mine before pushing himself upright. "He's joking. We have some bruises, but nothing's broken. We will be fine, princess."
"Now who's the one joking?" Papa Oden said, coming to help my dad up. Conri helped up Edon and both Edon and my dad leaned into them for support.
"We will be fine. Don't worry about it. That was fun. I'm down to go another round." Dad said.
I squealed and before I could help it I yelled at him. "No!" I shouted and he froze and looked at me with such care before he cleared his throat.
"Just like your mother." He mumbled before walking off with Papa Oden.
"Come on princess, you can help me wrap up." Edon said and I glared at him. "What?" He asked, feigning innocence.
I sighed and walked past them towards the hospital. "Hey, wait up little one!" Conri called, with a subtle laugh.
All of them...children. Every last one of them!
-POV Malerie-
I heard the front door close and I stepped around the corner to see my mother hanging up her purse. "So?" She asked without even thinking about anything else.
"She...she was weakened, not killed mother." I said, giving her an update.
She smiled darkly and walked up to me, resting her arm on my shoulder. "Good...good. That means we have a Luna ceremony to get to. And of Charlie?"
I blushed at his name, remembering he still hasn't called or responded to anything I'd sent him. I thought he was joking, but maybe he's really done with me this time. Well, I won't let that happen. "He's um...."
I immediately stopped muttering when a phone call came through my cell. It was Charlie. I gasped and turned to my mother. "Well, answer it." She said sternly.
"Y-yes mother." I said before answering the phone and quickly putting it on speaker. "Hello?" I whispered, surprised at my softer tone.
A chuckle came through the line before he sucked in a breath. "Hey Mal."
I bit my lip hearing my nickname for the first time in almost a decade. "Are you not mad at me anymore?" I asked, leaning towards the more docile approach.
"You know that's not what I want to hear." He growled and I knew he was about to hang up.
"Wait! No!" I called desperately while I could feel my mother's anger increase. The other end was silent, but I knew he was still there. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I rejected you and was so cruel to you. I...I want to fix it." He sighed heavily. "We will talk soon. I'm on my way." He said before the phone went dead.
I stared at the screen go black and my mother walked up to me slowly while her heels clicked into the floor. "Fix this or I will step in. Be useful." She warned me and my face paled.
"Yes, mother."
She smiled and kissed my cheek before heading upstairs to her room. I fell onto the stool and heard my lycan howl happily. "Finally, we got our mate back."
I winced at her joy that she was not holding back and the only thing I could think of was...I'm sure he doesn't want me back.
