The Unwanted Luna
Chapter 32

Amelia

I was in an open field and I had no idea where I was. The ground was drenched in blood and the body parts were scattered all over the place. The moon was blood red and the air was filled with something sinister.

The wind blew strongly whipping past me in a dizzying speed making it hard to draw air into my lungs while my hair whipped in different directions

There was a battle going on but no matter what I tried to do I just couldn't help so I resigned myself to being a spectator, crying as I watched the people I loved and cared for fall one by one. It was heart wrenching and I couldn't take it anymore.

I tried begging to be taken away from whatever nightmare this was but nothing happened and I stayed until the last person fell.

I didn't want this to be true and I didn't want to witness it. The scene before me was forever burned in my mind. Everyone was dead including me and all the deities had also fallen.

Once everyone was dead, the ground split open and all kinds of unnatural creatures started crawling out of the ground while dragging the dead bodies back inside the ground where they had crawled from.

"This is the future that awaits you" my head snapped to the right where the voice had come from.

The person standing beside me was a beautiful woman but there was something not human about her. Her eyes were pure whites, her skin bronze and her hair was black and long, reaching her calves. I had no idea who she was but I knew she was powerful. "Who are you?" I asked

"We are called many names my child..." she replied, confusing me about the 'we' part when I could only see one person but the confusion soon cleared when right before my eyes she splits into two other enchanting women. "Though we prefer fates" they finished unanimously which was weird as shit.

I was shocked to have the fates before me, I had wanted to replace them and discuss the mate bond but damn this isn't how I envisioned meeting them.

They all looked the same except the second one had flaming red hair and the last one had hair almost as white as Selene's.

They all turned their eyes towards the massacre and after a while turned back to look at me.

"This is what the future holds, total annihilation" the second fate spoke repeating almost the same line as the first one with a voice eerily similar to that of her sister. "But why? Where will things go wrong for this to happen?"

"You underestimated your enemies and because of that the world will fall" the third one responded.

"You keep talking about it like it's sure to happen, isn't there a way to prevent it?" I didn't want this future.

I didn't want the innocent people to die. I just can't and won't let it happen no matter what.

"The future has already been set in stone my child, it can't be prevented" this, they said in unison sending chills down my back at how in tune to each other they were.

"No, that can't be...what's the point of showing me all this if I can't prevent it?" I was frustrated because I just couldn't imagine that this is what awaits us.

"You cannot prevent it from happening but you can manipulate it and make sure that innocent souls don't perish and the world isn't destroyed." The first one answered. Her face revealed no hint of any emotion, it was just blank.

"How do I do that?" I asked, almost begging. Right now I would do anything to make sure the people I cared about and the innocent souls survived.

"That we will reveal in due time because revealing it now would be dangerous" the last fate said

"But for now we want you to know this, Agron isn't your only enemy, there is a being far greater than gods and goddesses that has aligned herself with him since they crave the same destruction and chaos." The second one says before continuing.

"If you think Agron is the worst then you haven't met this being, she has been asleep for millennia but has now awakened. Don't underestimate him thinking you are one step ahead of him when he is actually twenty steps ahead of you. He has a trick up his sleeve, something neither of you will see coming!"

"He has found a way to extract your power and once he does he will be unstoppable unless you replace a way to prevent that from happening. Because if you fall so will the rest of the word" The first one says and I am left completely speechless.

I honestly didn't see that coming and it has me on edge because now we have a new powerful enemy and Agron has a way to get my power. That explained why in the vision we were defeated.

"Like we said, you can't change the future since it's already set in motion but you can manipulate it in such a way even though it does happen the results won't be the same"

I have no idea who it is that spoke this time because I was completely lost in thought and I was also in shock because I never expected this turn of events.

"You're about to regain consciousness so listen, Amelia. No matter what, try not to forget this conversation because the fate of the world depends on you. We may not be able to reveal everything that will happen and we are not supposed to interfere, but we have given you a head start so use it well." The dark haired fate said just as I started getting dizzy and my vision became blurry.

"Remember Amelia! Remember!!"

************

I woke up with a headache to end all headaches. I squinted at the bright light that was assaulting my eyes.

The smell of disinfectant lets me know that I am at the hospital. I try to bring my scrambled thoughts together but the last thing I remember is squeezing the shit out of Hades.

I feel like there is more to my memory, like I should be remembering something important but no matter what I do I just can't remember anything after I almost severed Hades head.

"Fuck, that hurts" I said as I tried to position myself in an upright position wincing in pain while I grabbed at my ribs. I took all my effort just to sit up

I was still weak which honestly comes as a surprise to me, because even after I have taken my dark form I am usually spent but never weak.

"You're finally awake... let me page the doctor" Sophie said next to me. I was happy that at least one of us was okay.

"What day is it?" I asked, I was curious because time moves differently when you are in the underworld. We may have been in hell for a few days but in the human realm that would translate to day or weeks or even months. "Well, it's Tuesday, two weeks after you two were kidnapped. It took us almost a week to figure out where you were and to replace you and you have been out of it for about a week" Xavier answered me while entering the room. Somehow seeing him set goosebumps all over my skin. And I didn't like it because it meant that the bond between us was getting stronger.

I needed to replace the fates and make them destroy it.

Thinking about the fates brought something forth in my mind but before I could grasp it, it disappeared leaving me with the same feeling that there is something I should be able to remember.

I check on Onyx glad to have her back. She was asleep and also still weak so I am guessing the poison given to us was pretty strong to knock out even Onyx for more than two weeks.

"Well, I see our VIP patient is awake, I am just going to check your vitals first before updating you on your state" a doctor I have never seen said.

What was with people just entering my room without even knocking for fucks sake, who was going to be next to walk into my room? Santa clause?

"Your vitals are fine but I want you to take it easy for a few days until the poison is completely out of your system."

"I don't understand, why is the poison still not out of me...Sophie is fine, shouldn't I be the same?" I asked because I was honestly confused.

"My guess is that first of all it was given to you in a high dosage as compared to Sophie, second of all you had been exposed to obsidian for far too long and you were also already been weak from the physical and internal trauma your body had taken and lastly when you changed your form it drained the little energy you had left" he said before continuing.

"As I understand you need to feed off energy to replenish your own source and since you have been unconscious that has been impossible thus your energy tank is still low, plus your beast is still inactive ...all the above reasons are also why you haven't healed completely" he finished.

I didn't need to ask how he knew about my supposed weakness and how I replenished my energy, I guess Sophie and probably Nolan filled him in.

I

"When can I be discharged?" I asked. I hated hospitals and I couldn't wait to get to my room.

"Today, as long as you promise me to take it easy"

I quickly nod, eager to get out of here. He replies with an okay and tells me to get ready while he signs my check out forms.

I was so busy listening to the doctor that I didn't even notice Sophie leave. It was just me and Xavier and I wished that he could just leave or something, but by the looks of it he wasn't going anywhere.

"Where did Soph go?" I whispered once it clicked that he wasn't going to leave.

"She went to prepare your room for your arrival...to make it more comfortable." Xavier replied.

His voice was soft which irritated me because he has never directed that softness towards me before so I didn't understand why he was doing it now.

I don't reply because there is nothing to reply instead I get out of bed and stand on wobbly legs.

There were no clothes for me to change into but at least my hospital gown wasn't one of those that were open in the back.

Within seconds Xavier is by my side, his hand around my waist, holding me up before I could collapse on the floor and sending sparks flying everywhere. Damn the mate bond!.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked irritably and went ahead and slapped his hand away but he just firmly kept them in place.

"What does it look like I am doing? I am helping you"

"I don't need your help, I can walk by myself" I ground out trying to free myself from his grip.

The last thing I wanted was to feel the sparks of the mate bond sending sparks throughout my body.

I don't get a waning before his hand tightens around my waist and his other hand threads itself in my hair. He pulls me so close that there is literally no space between us. His mouth was so close that I could taste his breath. My feelings were at war. My hate and arousal caused by the bond fighting for dominace.

"I wasn't asking for your permission" he says in a deep and sexy voice.

Damn it, I need to replace Nolan and get laid the minute I was well enough to stand on my own, otherwise I was afraid of what I might do.

"Fine! But you are not carrying me" I snapped.

He lets go of my hair but continues holding my waist, and then we are moving. He walks me gently almost as if he was afraid I would break.

I hated him for that because I didn't want his gentleness, I needed it seven years ago but he showed me nothing but hatred.

As we walked down the hallway and people openly stare at us, I kept reminding myself that I hated him, that he was the bastard that rejected me in favor of my sister, that he has put me through hell, just so I can distract myself from the tingly sensation overriding my body. Once we are outside I breathe in the clean and calming me air that soothes me while the wind cools my skin but I don't get to enjoy my new found peace for long because a man rushes towards us at super speed with a dagger in his hand, screaming;

"She must die so our master can rise...all hail Agron"

I don't have to guess who the 'she' he is referring to is. Before he could strike I let go of Xavier and grip the man's throat.

Using all the energy I could master I rip his throat out and we both fall to the ground with me on my knees breathing heavily and in complete exhaustion.

Xavier picks me up, holding me to his body while staring at me.

"What?" I gasped when he continued to stare at me as if I had grown a third head while still trying to bring my breathing back to normal.

"You do realize that you have killed an elder, right?" he asked me puzzled though his voice wasn't hard nor angry.

Killing an elder was equivalent to treason and was punishable by death but I honestly didn't give a shit.

I look at the man on the floor missing a throat and just shrug, already beginning to feel drowsy.

What's the worst that could happen anyway? Furthermore, there were people around who had seen what happened so I was in the clear.

And even if there hadn't been any witnesses I still wouldn't lack any sleep over it.

I was a freaking goddess, I would like to see them accuse me of murder and try to kill.

My eyes began to grow heavy so Xavier lifted me in his arms before I could fall asleep while standing and began to walk.

Right before I closed my eyes I heard a voice shout in urgency;

"Remember Amelia!! Remember"

It was so clear as day and it resounded in my head over and over again, but for the love of me, I couldn't remember what the hell I was supposed to remember.
