The Unwanted Luna -
Chapter 51
How about I start from the beginning", I tell them.
They all nodded. While we talked with Sophie, I decided that I would stay in the pack for one week, then I would leave to begin my quest. I didn't know about the rest, the adults, but Jax, Freya and the children would have to be taken to my kingdom even if I was no longer its leader. "So after everything happened, I woke up in darkness. I remembered very well that I had lost and that Khoas had killed me. I was honestly devastated but I also didn't know how to get out", I began.
I left out the part about seeing them. Seeing how they were doing and how they were struggling. They didn't need to know that and I didn't want them knowing that I had witnessed that.
"So you were truly dead?" Xavier's mother asked.
I turned to look at her. "Yes and no, I was sort of in between."
They look at me in confusion, so I elaborated.
"I didn't know that the fates had made contact with me. That they had given me a heads up. I had no memory of it though I kept feeling that there was something I was supposed to remember but I just didn't", I tell them. Selene looks a bit shocked. "Didn't they tell you? I assumed that they had."
"Tell me what?" I asked. I didn't know what she was talking about, but by the looks of things, she knew something concerning what I was talking about.
"After you were taken by Hades, there was a day you woke up but you weren't really awake. You spoke but it sounded like someone else was speaking through you. Given the white color of your eyes, it was right to presume that it was the fates and that they were giving us a prophecy." She answered.
I try to rack my brains but nothing comes to mind. I have no memory of that.
"I don't remember" I state. "Anyway, while I was in the void, Hades came for me. He is the one that got me out."
"Hades? The one and only selfish Hades?" Nolan asks, looking unsure and confused.
I give him a look. "Stop that, he's my friend and yes, he is the same one. Turns out I reached out to him for help. Before the war, I remembered what the fates had said. We couldn't figure out the entire message, so we decided to have a back-up plan just in case things didn't go as planned."
Nolan gives me a hurt look and I know he is hurt that I went to Hades instead of me. I ignore it for now, planning to explain things later when we are in private.
"He was to take a part of my soul and hide it. That way, incase something happened, my soul wouldn't be able to cross over and he would be able to bring me back to life.. We did that but I immediately forgot after the process was done. Hades theorized that it was probably because Khaos didn't want me remembering. It would have interfered with her plans."
"As much as Agron is Hades' brother, he doesn't support him, so we were able to create an alliance. It was because of him that I knew when and where Agron would attack. He gave me the heads up and also the weapon. Too bad Khaos was more powerful than we had predicted." "So he helped you get the missing piece of your soul back, then brought you back to life?" Sophie asked.
"Pretty much, I don't know whether Agron and Khaos are aware that I am not dead, but at this point it doesn't matter" I replied.
I watch as they download the information. Each one of them computerizing the information.
"Who exactly is Khaos?" Xavier asked me.
I sighed, knowing that what I was going to tell them would blow their minds.
"She's a primordial deity"
I heard a gasp of shock and I turned to look at Selene.
"That's impossible! They were put to sleep a long time ago, it says so in the texts" she all but yells.
Nolan also seems shell shocked. I guess none of them had heard Khaos introducing herself right before she killed me.
"None of the higher deities know, neither do the fates, but Agron found a way to wake her up."
"Why are you talking like Khaos is bad news? Yes, she's powerful, but it can't be that bad" Bianca whispers. Almost as if she was afraid of speaking.
"Because she isn't just a normal goddess. She is the first of the primordial deities, who are the first generation of gods and goddesses. They came to be when the universe was first formed. The primordials were really powerful. The second generation of deities were afraid of them, because they couldn't kill or destroy them, since that meant destroying the very structure of the entire universe. They instead put them to slumber and they have been asleep for thousands of years. Khaos particularly was the most powerful of the primordails"
I see worry in their faces as they download the information. It was now hitting them that this time our opponent was basically unbeatable. Even if I got my powers back, it wouldn't be enough to win against Khaos, so I needed something else. I needed an Ace to win against the powerful dual.
"So you're basically saying that we are up against an unbeatable opponent?" Xavier asked.
"Yep" I replied calmly. "The sorcerer we visited told me that I needed to go to the dark and forbidden forest, that's where I will restore my powers and replace the answers on how to defeat Agron and Khaos"
"You don't have your powers?" Nolan asked. Shock clear in his voice.
"Yeah, when I died I stopped being the dark goddess, I'm now just a hellhound, but like I said, the sorcerer said there is an elixir in the forbidden forest. It will help me restore my powers."
"I still don't get what Agron's and Khaos' motivation is. What will they benefit in destroying the world?" Jayden poses the question.
"I got to know a lot from Hades about Agron. He wants vengeance for the pain and cruelty he underwent when he was a child at the hands of the other deities who thought he was weak. I do understand his anger and bitterness since I have been there myself but it still doesn't warrant him to destroy everything. His fight is with the gods and goddesses only."
I see everyone except Nolan, Selene and Sophie look down in shame. They know what they did to me and if I had chosen a different path, I would be on a vengeful path just like Agron.
I continue, ignoring their looks. "As for Khaos, we don't know her motive but I strongly believe that it's possibly the same thing. She wants vengeance against those that put her to sleep".
"That makes sense" Selene says. "I wasn't there when Agron was young, given he is among the older generation of deities, but I dug into his background and some of the things they did to him when he was young were just horrible. A source told me that the leading deities tried swiping things under the rug, especially when it was discovered that some of the gods and goddesses raped him from when he was about nine or ten and continued to do so until he ascended into his powers."
I and everyone else in the room cringed at that. To rape a child and continue to do so for years was just beyond inhuman. Humans, werewolves, and other beings worship these gods and goddesses. I wonder if they would continue doing so if they ever found out some of the nasty things they do.
No one says anything. Everyone was trying to internalize everything they have learned today. I was going to try and help Agron as I had already promised Cronus, but if there wasn't a way to redeem him, then I was going to put him down for good.
I yawn, starting to feel drowsy. I haven't slept in who knows how long and everything was starting to catch up to me. I needed to end this meeting and get some shut eyes before I can start planning my journey.
"When do you plan on leaving for the dark forest?" Nolan asked.
I looked at him. He looked tired and haggard. In fact, all of them look like that. Bianca looks much worse though. She has dark circles under her sunken eyes, her clothes are hanging off her, like she has lost a lot of weight.
She looks tired. Like she hasn't had a peaceful sleep in a long time. She seemed pale and drained. Like she was fading slowly by slowly.
I pulled my head from her direction and shook it. Trying to get rid of the nagging feeling in my gut.
"In one week. I wanted to spend time with Tristan and make a plan before setting off", I replied.
"I'm going with you" both Nolan and Xavier said at the same time, before turning to glare in each other's direction.
I was about to refuse when Bianca joined in.
"I'm going too" she says, casting her eyes down.
I study her, wondering why she would volunteer. Was it because she wanted to make sure nothing happened between me and Nolan or was she running from something? Or maybe it was a mixture of both of them. Either way it was going to be a long journey especially if all three of them joined me.
