The Unwanted Luna
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 17

-POV

Ayame-

The three of us were now sitting on the couch while the Alphas were hovering over us. I usually see them as my triplets, but I can't ignore the fact that they are livid right now. Each step they took as they paced the rich, red hardwood floors made time slow and my heart rate jitter. "So, let me get this straight. The girls left without you and you were not aware of it because no one came to tell you, including Ayame, who had direct instructions to do so. Now, Emily was running with her and you two were completely fine through the whole run until you ran into my sister and Adolpha. Then you two started making out. Do I have all that right?" Edon asked, looking between the three of us.

"Yes." Emily and I muttered quietly.

Kyle was holding her hand and I knew what Vincent said was true. She is definitely his mate. "So what, they are fine. Don't worry so much." Kyle's eyes darted between Emily and I and I was grateful for the back up.

"She just healed, Kyle. What if those chackling children thought it was a good idea to hurt her? Then what?!" Edon countered.

Kyle laughed harshly. "Then you would be out one sister and two whores. I don't see the issue here." Kyle concluded.

To be honest, I don't want them dead, but...I don't see an issue with them being removed either.

"We don't have time for this. Ayame. Please head upstairs. We are about to leave on some pack business, but we would like to talk to you first." Conri said.

The jitter in my heart came to a halt and a soft ringing rose in my ears. Sh*t...okay...I've been here before. I guess for them it's only a month of wooing before I get the boot or the whip. For Richard, it was six. I nodded and looked directly at the floor running out the room. I didn't want to be in there anymore. My heart was pounding when I made it to the fifth floor and I heaved to pull some air back into my lungs. Heading straight to my room, I sat on the floor in between the bed and the TV. Thankfully, there was a rug on the floor for my knees. I kneeled and placed my bum on my heels and my hands on my knees. I wasn't to move. I knew that much.

Eyes to the floor.

I don't know how long I was sitting there, but I do know I was terrified, concerned and conflicted. So many emotions that made this so hard for me. Mates...? How could I have been so stupid to play into this fairy tail. Even if they are supernatural, that explains why everyone is feeding into their world. The world that they created for me to believe in. They are the alphas. They can tell them to tell me whatever they want me to hear. I'm just some orphan girl they found encroaching on their territory.

Let's face it, I'm....I'm still stuck in hell...just like with Richard. I thought after this last month I had drawn closer to them. They kept to my boundaries. They respected my hesitations. I haven't even kissed any of them yet. However, they did everything that Richard did, especially Vilkas. He was always angry at me. I was stupid to dilute myself into thinking he and I were getting better. I'm so stupid!

The door finally opened and I was immediately picked up off the ground. "Why are you sitting on the floor?!" Conri asked, resting me on his arm.

I didn't respond and I could tell he was staring at me. I couldn't face them. I couldn't look them in the eye. That would make all the horrid thoughts real. They are angry. They will hate me. Immediately, I had my arms around his neck on instinct, and I instantly regretted the warmth and comfort of his touch on my palms as the sensation tried to comfort me into a false sense of reality. "What's wrong?" Edon asked.

"I found her kneeling on the floor. Her head is going a mile a minute. What were you thinking about?" Conri answered. It's all a trick. Look away!

Edon laughed shortly. "We gotta stop meeting like this, princess."

"No, Edon, seriously. She's terrified, and I hate to say it. I think it's of us." Vilkas said. I need to keep my focus on the coils making up the rug beneath Conri's feet. Vilkas wasn't wrong. I'm terrified. Every nightmare is coming true.

"Why?" Edon asked.

"I know you can't sense it, but she has been freaking out since we told her to go upstairs. It's been making Conri and I irritated." Vilkas noted.

"So that's why you told Kyle to cut his monologue short?" Edon clarified.

"Yes!" Conri and Vil answered.

"Now, Princess. We need you to talk and use your words. What did we do?" Conri begged.

He was begging? No, this is what Richard does when he's trying to get back to my good side, but they haven't hurt me, yet. Maybe I can keep it that way? Maybe I just...jumped to conclusions? Maybe...they will hurt me later? I'm...I'm so confused. "P-please put me down." I whispered and Conri gently placed me on the side of the bed. "Th-thank you."

They didn't press me for more information. They all stood there quietly, waiting for me to continue. "Alphas, the car is ready." A guard came to the doorway and the rage the man got from the triplets would make the sun look cool. All three of them walked past him silently and the guard looked at me, emotionlessly, before nodding and closing the door.

I think I know that guy. I think he was the one who was there when they found me. It didn't take three guesses to know what he was thinking. The pack will always protect their alphas. I am nothing.

-POV Edon-

"She hates us. I know she hates us! I might not have that whole six sense thing ironed out, but I can still tell." I shouted to my brothers while we made it to the car.

"The question is, what did we do?! We have been so patient. Almost to the point where I'm about to lose my mind! I'm not even arguing with her as much. At some point I'll apologize, but that hasn't been a problem so far." Vil growled. "I don't think I can take this anymore. I want her and now she's pushing away!"

"Maybe that's just it. Maybe she's angry with us because none of us have tried to push it past comforting her. It was necessary. She won't even let us kiss her, let alone mark her." Conri grumbled. There is no way I'm going to push anything after I saw that face on her gorgeous features. "Again, that Richard guy is a dead man walking." Vil added, showing some emotion towards her other than annoyance for once. At that moment, I had a flashback to Ayame and I hanging out in the backyard. She was yelling at Vilkas as per usual and when he walked off she called him a kindergartener. Now I'm starting to see where that insult came from.

"I don't care about him anymore, I just want Ayame to look at us again. Her entire demeanor shifted completely. I want our princess back!" I shouted. Screw that asshole. I'm not going to waste any of my energy on him anymore. We asked her to go upstairs and she completely stonewalled us. I don't want to lose our little princess. She's my world.

"Okay. Okay. We will apologize, grovel, whatever we need to do to get her back to normal." Conri agreed.

"Fair." Vil and I said together.

We headed down the road towards Montreal and the entire trip was long and exhausting. Once we finally made it to our hotel, the first thing we did was call Emily. "What did you three do?!" She shouted. I almost dropped my phone at Emily's outburst. "Watch how you talk to us!" I warned her without hesitation. I don't care if she is the beta female now. There is only one woman in this entire realm and the next who can talk to me like that and Emily isn't her. "Sorry alpha."

"All three of us are on the phone, Emily. Where is Ayame?" Conri asked.

"Right, alphas. Anyway, she isn't coming out of her room. Kyle wants me back in his room, but I can't just leave her like this." Emily answered.

I rubbed my face and looked between my brothers. "Get her on the phone."

"Y-Yes alphas." She fiddled around with something then I heard a knock. "Ayame. Please open the door. I...I have some really sorry men that want to talk to you." She called. I'll get her for that snarky comment. She's just as bad as Kyle! They were meant for each other. I heard a door crack and Emily sighed in relief. "Hello?" Ayame sounded like she had been crying as her voice cracked through the mic. Yep. We were right. All that time is now wasted. We are back to square one.

"Hey princess. Vil, Conri, and I wanted to call and see how you are doing." I said.

There was a pause on the other end of the line. "I...I'm fine." She whispered.

"Princess...we know you are lying. Please tell us what's wrong. We didn't want to push earlier, but we need to know. We don't want to go to bed knowing you are hurt, sweetheart." Conri asked. "I...I made a mistake."

"A mistake?!" The three of us asked beyond concern.

"Oh, you mean running by yourself? That was fine. We just wanted to tell you -" I started, but my words were cut short by her own. "N-no. That's not it."

"Then what is it?!" Vil asked. Conri and I slapped him in the back of the head. This wasn't the time for their normal banter.

"I...I should have left." She said and hung up the phone.

No...No! She can't be serious. "We need to go home now!" I shouted.

"How exactly do you plan on doing that?!" Vil shouted back, pacing the room.

"She is going to leave!" I shouted back. "Are you seriously going to let that happen?!"

"Then we will replace her." Conri said and I froze, remembering one of the nightmares I woke her up from a week ago.

"That's it! I know why she wants to run!" They both turned to me while I desperately called Ayame's phone. No answer like last time, so I called Emily and she picked up immediately. "I don't care what you have to say right now. Put Ayame on now." I shouted. "Yes, alphas." Emily recited.

There was a shift on the other line, but silence followed. I had a feeling she was there, even without her words. "Ayame! We are not him, okay? Remember what I promised you a week ago? I will never turn evil and neither will my brothers. We were never mad at you. We just wanted to tell you goodbye. We are in Montreal right now. We will be home as soon as we can. Please baby, don't leave." I said all in one breath and Vil and Conri stared at me in shock.

"But...but you told me to go upstairs. You seemed so mad...you...you...." She was crying now. "He would lie to me too."

"We will never lie to you, Ayame. You know that. We have been nothing but honest with you. We taught you about our supernatural spirits. We gave you access to all our tomes, texts, and rules about our kind to teach you about our world. We...we will never harm you." Vil added through gritted teeth. For someone who didn't like her so much, he sometimes had a funny way of showing it.

"How can I be certain of that?! You left!" She shouted.

"We had to, sweetie. We will be back as soon as we finish this meeting tomorrow. We were going to stay for three days, but we can't stay with you like this. I can't leave you to worry." I added.

I have to get her to believe us. We need to have this meeting, but I need to have my mate. She kept crying and my heart burned. I can't do this. "I'll be home in six hours. Wait for me sweetie. I'm coming." I told her and hung up the phone.

Conri groaned and rubbed the back of his head. "I hate to say it, but I'm glad there are three of us right now. Edon, head back to the pack. Vil and I will stay here for the three-day conference begrudgingly. There are other Alphas we need to chat with. It is of upmost importance, but so is she."

I nodded and left everything behind while I sprinted out of the city. It only took me an hour to get to the treeline. "Okay big guy. Time to assist." I may not be as fast as the wolves, but never underestimate the speed of a Kodiak bear and the will of a desperate mate.
