The Unwanted Luna -
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 34
-POV
Ayame-
I gasped awake, replaceing myself tied to a bedpost while I was propped up on the floor. Doing my best to shift my weight was almost impossible, but my back was killing me with no support. The burning pain radiating from my leg was obvious. I sighed a shaky breath realizing my ankle was probably broken again. I don't know...if I can run a second time. So much pain.... No one is that lucky. I was terrified.
I looked around, assessing my situation. The worn red and gold carpet with bland colored drapes and decades-old upholstery covering the lone chair in the far off corner confirmed it. I was in a hotel room. It wasn't too glamorous, but I knew my accommodations had to at least be a one-bedroom suite. I couldn't see the front door and the only thing in my new prison, aside from the chair, was a king-sized bed. The smell of Richard's cologne made my body shake.
The repugnant smell was horrid as it burned my nose and eyes, thrusting me into my memories. "Please! Someone please!" I shouted as the tears started to fall. How could this have happened?! I saw him right behind her and did nothing but watch it happen. I should have said something. I should have ran then. I had people that wanted to protect me this time and instead I cowered in front of Richard. I let him win...again.
I gasped through my hysterics. Not to mention she will hate me after this. Kyle will hate me after this! What do I do? I'll loose everything again. I gasped as the door flew open.
"Oh thank the Goddess, can you please untie me. I need to get back to my -"
Crack!
I was slapped across the face so hard I saw stars. I didn't know who hit me, but they were not here to save me. My head slammed into the wooden bedframe and bobbled back to it's original place. As I tried to replace my equilibrium, a large hand wrapped around my throat and tightened mercilessly. "Shut the fuck up! Because of you, my brother lost his job! I don't want to hear your crying! If I have to come in here again, you will wish I was Richard instead!" The man shouted in my ear, finally letting go of my throat. I slunk my body into a ball, terrified of what he meant by that. Nothing is worse than Richard and there was no way I wanted to replace out if that was true. "Stupid bitch." He kicked me in the ribs and I gasped for air before he slammed the door behind him.
I bit my lip...hard, as I tried not to make any noise. I cannot let him hurt me again. I will be in enough pain when Richard gets back. I'm sure he will leave me here for days while he enjoys his new bride. I shook, feeling for her. What if this is what she has to deal with now because I ran away? I feel.... I feel so guilty.
Maybe I should just give up. I don't deserve happiness. Tanya seemed like a beautiful heiress with the world at her feet. She shouldn't suffer because I've become greedy in only a few short weeks. Everything was pulled away from me so easily. I should just accept it. I should just let my life be as it was. At least I will get to save his new bride. I'll...I'll get to be useful to someone in my life. I'll...I finally won't be a...a burden.
I saw darkness again and I didn't hear anything else until I heard the howl of a wolf? "Angel, please wake up!"
"Come on, princess!"
"Edon? V-Vil?" I whimpered through a cracked and unrecognizable tone as I forced myself to open my eyes. Those were their nicknames...but I don't know if those were their voices. Forcing my eyes open seemed to be a harder feat than I thought. One of my eyes was welded shut and there wasn't much I could do about that. After the hard slap I received earlier, it was rightfully swollen and this could most definitely be a figment of my imagination. I tried to open my mouth once more. "E..." I didn't get much else out.
"She said something! She's okay. Let's get her to the hospital now!" Vil shouted. I was lifted off of the floor and rushed out of the room. After the elevator signaled our arrival onto another floor, I heard sirens.
The gust of cool air met my face and I didn't realize how much I craved some fresh air while my small body was nestled into...fire embers and pine. So yummy. Only a few minutes later, I was pulled away from the scent and rested on a cool mattress. "Is she talking?"
"No, she was unconscious when we made it to the room. She mumbled a few words and that was about it. I think she recognized us at least."
"We will arrest Richard as well. Don't you worry. He will be exported right back to the States for his proper punishment. We will look the other way about the...other guy." "Of course, lieutenant."
There were so many people talking and now there was a bright light over my head. I'm so disoriented. "Sorry, but only two of you can ride back 'ere. You are...rather large." "I'll drive." Conri called. I can finally identify their voices. That was a level of comfort I didn't know I desperately needed right now.
I felt my hands being held and I could feel it was Vil and Edon. I wanted to tell them I was okay, but passing out from the shock earlier was enough to render me speechless.
All the shouting and sirens had been replaced by a subtle beeping noise. I winced trying to replace my way back to reality but it slowly faded away again. "Ayame." I gasped and heard the beeping accelerate as my eyes darted around the small white room. It was...no....it couldn't have been. I heaved desperately, feeling my chest squeeze at the sudden shift within my consciousness.
"Baby...shhhh.... It's okay. You're safe. We are here." Edon's warm hand wrapped around mine and Vil looked at me with concern while Conri was leaning on the wall across from my bed.
"Alphas, we need to check her vitals." Someone called from the left of me. I didn't want to look anywhere else but at my triplets. Edon hesitated before attempting to pull away. I gripped his hand tighter and glanced at Vil with a pleading eye. Vil didn't even budge. "Or...you can stay on that side as long as you don't get in the way of the nurse."
Edon smirked and nodded while Vil shifted to stand next to him. The nurse started with my blood pressure and heart rate, then she checked my breathing as each labored breath slowed down to normal, soothing breaths. The gentle circles Edon's thumb was drawing on the back of my hand helped immensely. "Perfect, doctor, she is calming down without medication. I think we can let her stay awake." The nurse said. I felt like liquid heat was being poured down my throat. I didn't even want to attempt to talk, but I knew at some point they would want some
answers.
The nurse left my line of sight and another young woman with a pristine white coat came around to replace her. "Hello, Ayame. Can you tell me where you are?"
I looked around and shook my head. "Can you talk, princess?" Edon asked.
I winced and shook my head again. "Will you squeeze my hand if we are telling you a truthful response, Angel?" Vil asked.
I nodded and Edon and Vil switched places. Edon sat next to my legs on the edge of the bed and Vil sat on the stool Edon was previously occupying. "Are you home?" Vil asked.
I shook my head. He took a deep breath and nodded. That seems like a good sign. I know I'm at least in a hospital. "Were you at a wedding earlier?" Conri asked.
I went rigid and squeezed Vil's hand as requested. Vil shook his head slowly. "Sorry Angel, that was three days ago."
I whimpered, not really able to say anything, but I nodded at the revelation. "Did you see Richard when you were taken?" The doctor asked and all three men growled while I felt my face pale.
I squeezed Vil's hand to answer this as true, and Edon stood to his feet immediately. "So that asshole lied! I knew it!" Edon shouted.
"Edon." Conri warned, as Edon breathed heavily. I agree with Conri on this one. This is not the place for him to shift.
I turned to him and I hoped he could understand the plea from my eyes. Thankfully, it worked. He slowly sat down and I forced a smile. It hurt, but it was worth it. "Well, that will be great when Richard is charged!" The nurse said excitedly.
The doctor cleared her throat and the nurse gasped and bowed her head. "Now, I will tell you, you are at a hospital in the Willow Tree Pack in Corsica, France. We are a little ways away from Paris, but the Alphas felt more comfortable being here instead of with the humans." I nodded and squeezed Vil's hand once. He sighed in relief. "I'm glad you feel comfortable here too, Angel." Vil added.
"Exactly. Now your throat may be a bit rough from all the screaming and um...the...the ligature marks around your neck that were most likely caused prior to losing consciousness. Your voice will come back to you in all due time. Are you in pain, Luna?" The doctor asked. I squeezed Vil's hand, and another sigh of relief was heard throughout the room. "Good, she knows who she is, so no long-term memory loss. However, I'll go get some pain medication for her now and figure out the best methods for when she flies home, you can get your doctors to heal her broken ankle. The concussion will need to be cleared before she flies anywhere though." She warned.
"Of Course. Thank you, Doctor." Conri said.
She nodded and left with the nurse. Conri finally came up to sit on the other side of me and I couldn't help the tears. Oh, how I wish I could mind link them right now. I wanted to tell them how much I loved them for coming to replace me. How happy that made me feel that they didn't abandon me. How relieved I was that my thoughts were not a reality. "Other than the pain, are you okay?" Conri asked.
I hesitated, but nodded slowly. Honesty was the best option here. I looked around the room before nodding at the whiteboard. I need to communicate with them somehow. Edon looked quizzically between my expressing and nodding, then towards the whiteboard. "Oh! Paper!" He said.
I nodded and he darted out of the room in search for something to write with. When he came back, I took the pen and he pulled the portable desk up to me. I started writing on the paper and tapped it when I was done. "Thank you for replaceing me. I was so...." Edon stared at the paper and cleared his throat. "... I was so scared you would be mad at me for ruining the wedding and hurting the beta female. I hope you can forgive me."
Before I could even blink, the table was gone and all three of them were hugging me. "You are way more important than you think, little one." Conri whispered in my ear.
"We are never mad at you, princess. I'll destroy a hundred weddings to replace you without question." Edon said, holding onto my torso gingerly.
"I'm going to kill him when we get back to Canada." Vil growled.
I held onto whomever I could and let the tears fall. After a while, they pulled away and I rubbed my face gently, making sure not to aggravate the bruise I felt on my cheek and eye. "Do you want some water?" Conri asked.
I nodded and he disappeared to get something for me to sip on. "Anything else you want to tell us?" Vil asked, glancing towards the notepad.
I nodded and Edon pulled the desk back up to me. I stared at the blank paper looking back at me and...I began telling - well, writing - everything Richard said and what the other man did to me when I woke up, tied to a bed post and even everything before I ran away the first time. I even wrote about that horrible night that forced me to make that decision in the first place. Once I was done, the notepad was almost full, but my mind was finally at ease. Letting everything all out was worth it. It was...priceless.
Edon was the first to read it, then Conri, and finally Vil. They all sat quietly while, one at a time, each of them was filled in. "I cannot believe this is what you have been holding back all this time. Next time, tell one of us okay. We will always listen, princess." Edon said once Vil placed the notepad back in my hands.
I nodded and opened it to a clean sheet. I wrote down my answer and Conri read it this time. "Of course, I will, now please stay with me. I don't want to be alone." He placed the notepad on the desk and kissed my forehead. "I'll take the first shift on the cot." Conri said.
After kicking off their shoes, Vil slipped in next to me and Edon plopped in on the other side. The bed was huge, but they did say this was a hospital for the supernatural. After seeing them shifted, it makes sense why they would need so much space per patient. I snuggled into Vil's chest and even though I was asleep for three days, I welcomed the much needed rest.
-POV Tanya-
"She ruined everything!" I screamed, throwing another thing across the room of the suite I was holed up in while a cop - yeah a cop - was watching my room just outside the door. I wasn't allowed to see Richard, my father wouldn't even look at me like this whole ordeal was my fault, and it was all because of that stupid, disgusting tramp! I hate her! She even had the audacity to show up at my wedding with those gods among men and I got stuck with Richard?! The easily enraged man baby! Ugghhh!!
I threw something else, and it shattered this time. I winced and felt the bruise on my back burn a bit against the sweater I had been stuck in for the last three days. Let's just say... Richard wanted to let off some steam before the wedding day and it still burns. Dammit! "Everything is her fault."
