Alissa Soleil's POV

"Soleil"

"Soleil"

"Soleil, wake up"

I slowly opened my eyes and lifted my head.

I looked out the bus window and realized that we were already outside the hotel.

I looked around and realized everyone has gotten off as well.

Calum chuckled.

"Let's go. You can sleep again in the hotel room" he said.

I stretched my arms and nodded.

Cal held my hand as I sleepily walked out of the bus.

Cal kept chuckling and I just pouted.

We got out of the bus and I was told that our luggage was already taken inside.

Everyone was already in the lobby and I was still rubbing my eyes sleepily so I had to look away embarrassed.

Calum laughed but stood in front of to cover me.

I shook myself up to wake myself.

Then, auntie came to us.

"Soleil, dear. Calum. We seem to have a bit of a problem" auntie said.

"What is it, mom?" Cal asked his mom.

I stood beside Cal after I composed myself.

Auntie glanced at the both of us.

"Although we have an even number in the team. It seems the number for ladies and gentlemen are different" she said.

I already knew what it meant.

"Would it be okay for you two to partner up for the room again?" auntie asked.

This wasn't a first either.

Cal and I have stayed in the same hotel room like thrice already in the past during outreach programs and a few more times for other trips with coworkers. "It's fine with me, auntie. How about you?" I said and turned to Cal.

"It's fine with me as long as it is for you" he said with a shrug.

"It's settled then. The two of you are partnered up. Thank you" she said and gave Cal and I a kiss on the cheek as she sighed in relief.

Everyone else were giving us the same teasing smile.

I didn't mind nor did Cal.

We were comfortable enough to stay in the same room throughout the day and at night.

We respected each other and our boundaries.

Plus, I really do trust Calum.

We made our way to our floors and our rooms so we can rest.

Auntie thanked Cal and I and hugged us again and after that, Cal and I went straight to our rooms.

I flopped down on the bed.

I'm still so tired.

"Since you're already awake, wash up or shower then sleep so you don't have to wake up early later before we go to the outreach location" Cal suggested. I lifted my head up.

"Are you going to shower as well before resting?" I asked curiously.

Cal nodded.

I pushed myself up and went to my luggage.

"Okay, I will too" I said and Cal chuckled.

I took my towel, toiletries and clothes so I can change in the bathroom after showering.

Then, I went inside the shower, organized my things, removed my clothes and got in the shower.

I showered for a while then after that, I dried myself off and slipped into a white oversized shirt and shorts.

Then, I dried my hair with a blower and finally went out.

Calum was patiently waiting outside.

"Your turn" I said.

Calum nodded and got off his bed while I immediately flopped down on mine.

I heard him chuckle before going inside the room.

Just like that, I fell asleep.

I woke up when I heard people talking from outside.

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around.

Calum wasn't in the room but I can hear his voice right outside.

I laying down properly on the bed and I was tucked in as well.

Calum must've fixed my sleeping position and tucked me in.

I sat up and stretched my arms when Calum walked in.

"Oh good. You're awake" he said.

"We leave in 20" he said.

I nodded and got off the bed.

I grabbed clothes to change into before going to the bathroom.

Then, I went to the bathroom and washed my face and brushed my teeth before changing.

I changed into a khaki lapel neck solid shirt romper paired with white sandals.

I let my hair down and put makeup on and when I was all finished, I went out of the bathroom.

Calum was still buttoning his shirt when I got out.

"Does this look okay or does it look too much?" I asked.

"It's casual with a hint of formal. It's nice for tonight's dinner" he said.

I nodded.

Calum was wearing a white button down shirt and khaki jeans paired with white sneakers.

I grabbed my go to handbag and a jacket just in case from my luggage and brought it with me.

I looked at the time and we only have 5 minutes left.

I looked at Calum and he grabbed his phone and wallet and put it in his pocket.

"Let's go" he said and we went out of the hotel room together and made our way way to the elevator.

We got in the elevator and I looked at Calum.

"Let's do our best to help these people" he said and offered me his arm.

I smiled and took it.

"Let's go" I said.

We reached the first floor where everyone was meeting at.

Auntie saw me and rushed to give me a hug.

"Did you rest okay?" she asked.

I nodded.

"Yes, auntie" I said.

Auntie smiled.

That's good to know.

"We'll head off to the outreach program location now" she said and Calum and I nodded.

We made our way out of the hotel and went inside the team bus.

Calum and I sat in the back again while everyone exchanged conversations.

"Dr. Calum, Dr. Ellis" a team member called us.

Calum and I looked at her.

"What are you guys up to these days?" she asked.

Calum and I glanced at each other.

"Just the usual work. Nothing too special" I said.

"Word has been going around in the medical industry about your pro bono surgeries. You two are quite generous" another member said. "We do what we can" Calum said.

After that, we did our best to divert the attention towards someone else. Calum and I weren't the biggest fan of being the center of attention. Neither do we like other people going through our personal business. After about an hour drive, the bus stopped and everyone started to get off. Calum and I were the last ones off.

I looked around and realized that it was quite a secluded area near the woods.

We had to walk a bit more and Calum was beside me.

After some time, we reached the location and I was pretty surprised to see so many people.

They welcomed all of us warmly and after that, auntie was called to the front for a speech. Once that was done, dinner finally started.

Calum and I went to the side first to let everyone else get their food first.

"Aren't you hungry?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"I'm fine. I ate breakfast and ate the sandwich for lunch so I'm good. You?" I asked back.

"I feel fine as well" he said.

I nodded.

Once everyone got their food, Calum and I got ours and sat down with auntie in her table.

We all talked as we ate.

After that, there was a little program to entertain both the people in the area and the team. Everyone was singing and dancing and having fun.

Calum and I were watching from the back.

Well, not until...

"Come on, you two. Dance" auntie said and pulled both Calum and I in the center.

Calum looked at each other like 'what do we do?' then I bit my lower lip trying to stop myself from laughing.

Cal was too and when I burst out laughing, he did too.

We eventually just started dancing to the music.

After a song or two, the song switched up and it became a mellow one.

Cal offered me his hand.

"Shall we?" he said and I chuckled and took his hand.

We danced to the slow song and Cal gently pulled me closer to him.

"This is nice" he said.

"It is" I said and I laid my head on his chest.

Cal laid his head on top of mine as we continued to dance.

After that song, Cal and I went back to the side.

We ended up talking about random things.

Everything was fine until we heard a howl from the woods.

To everyone else, it would just be a creepy sound that they didn't have to worry about.

But in my ears, it was different.

It wasn't just a howl from an animal.

It was a howl from a werewolf.

A werewolf that was in pain.

And it didn't sound too far from here.

"Cal, I think I need to go to the bathroom. Excuse me" I said.

"Do you need me to come with you?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"No, it's fine. You can stay here" I said.

Cal hesitantly nodded.

I then grabbed my bag and went to the direction of the bathroom but once I was out of sight, I went to the woods.

I closed my eyes as I searched for the wolf's scent and then rushed to follow it.

After some time, I was able to hear the whimpers and saw the girl's body laying on the ground.

She didn't have clothes on so I figured she had just shifted back to her human form.

I rushed to her and saw her bleeding excessively.

Oh ghad.

I went beside her, covered her with my jacket and she whimpered in pain.

"It's okay. I'm here" I said.

The girl slightly opened her eyes and I caressed her face.

"I'm going to help you" I said.

I took out my kit from my bag and laid it down.

I wore my gloves and checked the wound.

It was a big wound on her side from her to her stomach and it didn't seem like it was healing.

Or it was healing too slowly.

My brows furrowed as I leaned in closer and took a sniff.

Wolf's bane.

Of course.

I sighed and looked at the injured girl.

"You won't be able to heal on time and you'll bleed to death. I need to stitch you up and bring you back to your pack" I said.

She nodded weakly in response.

I prepared the needle to stitch the wound up.

"Soleil"

I froze.

Oh ghad no.

"Soleil, what are you-Soleil!" Cal shouted and he pulled me away as he looked at the girl on the ground.

"What are you doing?! We need to bring her to the hospital" he said and was going to the girl but I pulled him back.

"We can't" I said.

Cal looked at me with furrowed brows.

"What? What do you mean we can't? She's going to die if we don't take her now!" he said frustrated.

"She's going to die if we take her to the hospital" I said and Cal looked at me confused.

I sighed.

"Cal, she's different. The doctors in the hospital won't be able to help her. But I can" I said.

"Please. Trust me" I begged.

Calum looked at me for a moment.

Then, he gulped and looked away.

"Okay. Do what you need to do. But I need more explanation later" he said and I nodded.

I went back beside the girl and Cal kneeled beside me for assistance.

I grabbed scissors and cut through my jacket where the wound was so the rest of her body is covered.

"Is she naked?" he asked confused.

I nodded.

I knew hw wanted to ask why but didn't because of the situation.

"I need to stitch her up to stop the bleeding" I said.

"Without anesthesia?" he said.

"The anesthesia I have with me is not strong enough to numb her" I said.

Again, Cal looked at confused but didn't say anything further.

Cal assisted me as I stitched the wound up and the girl whimpered in pain from time to time.

Once I've stitched her up, I temporarily patched the wound up.

"What now?" Cal asked.

I looked around then at the girl.

"Can't you contact anyone?" I asked the girl.

She weakly shook her head.

I sighed.

Then, I looked at Cal who was waiting for me to do something.

"Calum" I said.

"There's been one thing about me that I've been meaning to tell you" I started.

"And it's something beyond your imagination" I said.

"Soleil, I-" he was about to talk bit I cut him off.

"Cal, if you're not ready to replace out my deepest darkest secret, I need you to leave" I said.

Cal stopped as he looked at me with a stunned and confused face.

"I don't want to lose you so I need you to decide whether you want to know or you don't. And I need you to think about it quickly because this girl needs to get home for further treatment and I can't do that unless you answer now" I said.

Cal looked straight into my eyes.

"Whatever it is, I'll accept it. I'll accept you" he said.

I slightly smiled, stood up and stepped back.

"Soleil, what are you-"

I started to strip my clothes off and Calum looked away.

"What are you doing?" he said.

"Cal, I need you to look" I said and I started shifting to my wolf.

Cal looked at me and his eyes widened.

I watched Calum's terrified and confused.

I shifted to my wolf and I huffed.

Cal looked at me with a terrified face and I met his eyes.

"S-Soleil" he stuttered as his eyes softened.

I carefully walked to him and he gulped.

I lowered my head close to him and I felt him slowly touch me.

Then, I looked back up to meet his eyes.

"Soleil" he said softly.

He recognizes me now.

I felt relieved.

Finally, he knows.
