Alissa's POV

"That was fun, right?" Lia commented as I got out of the bathroom

I nodded as I dried my hair.

"I really enjoyed it and so did Bryan, obviously" I said with a smile.

"Well, of course he'd enjoy it. He was able to bond with his big sister after a long time. He missed you and even if you guys didn't go to the mall and just played here, I'm sure he would've felt just as happy" Lia said. I smiled at the thought.

I know.

I really liked hanging out with my little brother.

I missed him so much and I'm glad I was able to take him out.

We went to the mall and bought some clothes and toys, ate at a really good restaurant then went to an arcade and played there for some time.

I spent only some of my money because Liana refused to let me spend my own money.

She got both Bryan and I expensive things even when I said no.

She was very persistent and most importantly, stubborn.

But I really couldn't complain because she used the 'you were gone for 3 years, I just want to spoil you' card every single time.

"It was really great" I said.

"Except when you randomly tease me about Kalil" I said and playfully squinted my eyes at her.

"Oh please. The teasing is harmless" she said playfully rolling her eyes at me.

I chuckled.

"It's harmless until your brother gets pissed off and chokes me out of anger again for it" I said with a chuckle.

"What do you mean again?" she said with furrowed brows.

I froze.

I shouldn't have said that.

"Excuse me but he did what again?" Liana said.

I gulped.

"Nothing" I said nervously.

Liana's eyes glowed green.

"Luke!" she growled as she rushed out of the bed.

I ran after her.

"Help! Lucas!" I screamed.

As soon as we got out, Lucas came rushing out of his own room and then so did Luke from his on the end of the hallway. My eyes widened.

Oh my freaking goddess.

"You fcking jerk!" Lia growled as she ran towards Luke with her eyes glowing dangerously.

"Luke, run!" I shouted but that man just doesn't know when to follow directions from anyone.

Lucas and I ran after Lia but she was too fast and enraged as she lunged at Luke.

"What the fck, Liana?!" Luke cussed.

"You jerk! You haven't changed a bit since Ali left and you still have the audacity to do what you did!" she screamed at him. Lucas and I pulled Lia off of Luke.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Luke said as he wiped off blood from his lips.

I stood in between them as Lucas restrained Liana.

"What is she talking about?" Luke asked confused.

I bit my lower lip guilty.

"It slipped" I said.

Oh I really messed up.

Luke must have realized what was up as he massaged the bridge of his nose probably out of frustration.

"Oh so it is true! You fcking a-hole!" Lia growled.

I felt like digging a hole in the ground and staying there until everyone has calmed down but I couldn't do that. This was my fault.

I accidentally brought it up and got both Luke and I into trouble with Liana.

"What kind of mate, are you?! You still manage to hurt Alissa despite the bond that you guys have?! What is wrong with you?!" she screamed. "Lia..." I said and stepped closer to her.

Luke lightly pulled me to the side.

"Liana, calm down first" Luke said as he approached his sister.

"No! I'm going to kill you for hurting Alissa again!" Liana growled even louder as she got out of Lucas' hold.

I instinctively stepped between them as Liana extended her arms to Luke's direction.

The next thing I know, I felt a stinging pain on my face and droplets of blood fell to the floor.

"Oh my ghad! Ali!" Lia said in panic.

I looked down at the floor then touched my face.

Blood...

"Fck!" Luke cussed as he went to me.

"What the hell, Lia?!" Luke growled at his sister.

Liana didn't look at him but she looked at me with teary eyes.

"Oh ghad. Oh ghad, I'm sorry, Ali. I...I'm sorry. I didn't-I didn't mean to" she said as tears fell from her eyes in guilt.

Lia stepped back as she covered her mouth in shock after she accidentally wounded me.

I could feel the wound healing as I approached Liana.

Luke held my arm to stop me but I pulled it away.

"It's not her fault" I said and went to Lia.

Lia stepped back again as I approached her.

I sighed.

"I-I'm sorry. Oh my ghad. I hurt you. I'm sorry" she broke down to the ground and I rushed to her.

I hugged Lia and caressed her back.

"It's okay. I'm okay. It was just a scratch" I cooed.

A very bloody scratch.

"I lost it. I lost control and I hurt you. Oh my ghad. I did what what my brother did to you" she sobbed.

I held Liana tighter.

What could I say?

Then, guards came rushing at our floor and so did aunt Livi and his majesty.

They rushed towards us.

"What happened?" they asked.

Aunt Livi went to us while his majesty, former King Luan, went to his sons.

Liana kept crying nonstop as I hugged her.

She kept apologizing as well as she blamed herself.

I looked at aunt Livi apologetically and she immediately saw my face but didn't talk about it.

"Someone please bring Alissa to the clinic" aunt Livi said and turned to the guards.

Aunt Livi gave me a nod.

"I'll take her instead" Luke said.

"No. You're staying" aunt Livi said.

"Then I will" Lucas voiced out.

Aunt Livi nodded.

Lucas lightly pulled me and we left with a pair of guards behind us.

"I don't know what exactly happened but if it made Liana so angry that she lost control, it must be something I won't be able to handle very well myself" Lucas said as we were on our way to the clinic. I sighed.

"I didn't mean to tell her. It was personal and it just slipped. I really should watch what I say" I said.

Lucas slightly frowned.

"And keep it to yourself? Are you crazy? Liana would be even more livid if you do that" he said.

I bit my lower lip.

We arrived at the clinic and a doctor checked up on me.

The wound was almost completely healed but she still cleaned it up for me just in case.

Lucas and I left the clinic quietly.

"Do you want to get some air?" Lucas said.

I nodded.

Lucas turned the guards and probably mind linked them something because they ended up leaving.

Then, Lucas motioned for me to come with him.

We ended up going to the garden and we sat down side by side.

For a few minutes, we were just quiet.

"When you left and Liana found out, she was miserable" Lucas suddenly said.

"She refused to eat for a whole week and only asked for you as she cried endlessly" he continued.

I looked down.

"At some point, she ended up blaming Luke because she knew that he was always giving you a hard time" he said.

I felt guilty.

"She was also upset with your mom and Axel. I'm sure you know why" he said and turned to me.

I nodded.

Liana knew what kind of relationship I had with my mom and Axel at home.

"She didn't talk to Luke for a month but at some point, she just accepted your absence while hoping for you to come back" he continued on.

I got teary eyed.

"For the past 3 years, Liana worked harder in her training despite nit being interested in combat at all. Do you know why?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"Because she wanted to be the one to protect you from Luke and any other wolf who'd potentially bully you" he explained.

I bit my lower lip as a tear fell from my eye.

Liana...

"To Liana, you weren't just her best friend. You were like a sister to her. She treasures you and looks up to you" he told me.

Of course I knew that.

"When she finally saw you during the rescue in your former pack, she bawled when she saw you hurt. Or so I've heard from mom" he said.

"I believe you were unconscious so I doubt you knew but she was so worried and scared for you that she cried so much and passed out because of it" he said.

I was in shock.

I didn't know that.

"Then, she was so happy when news came that you finally recovered. She was so ecstatic that she cried in tears of joy" he said with a chuckle.

My own tears streamed down my face nonstop.

"I think she's scared now" Lucas said and looked at me.

"What? Why?" I asked confused.

"She's overprotective of you because she knows what you've been through with Luke before and she doesn't want it to happen again because..." Lucas paused. "Because she doesn't want you to leave again" he explained.

I was stunned to hear that.

"She's been anticipating for you to come back, Ali. I think even more than Luke" he said.

I pursed my lips and Lucas gave me a small smile.

I didn't know how Liana actually felt.

I knew she was happy and all but this...this crushed my heart.

I always treasured Liana like my own sister and it hurts to know that she went all through that because of me.

Oh Liana...

We stayed in the garden a little longer and then we went back to the palace.

"I've been informed that you need to stay at the guest room for tonight" Lucas said.

I sighed and nodded in understanding.

Lucas walked me to the guest room.

"Try to get some sleep" he said.

I nodded.

"I'll try" I said.

Lucas gave me a small smile and ruffled my hair before leaving.

I went inside the guest room and flopped down the bed.

Ghad, I've really messed up big time.

I sighed and looked at the ceiling.

I'm starting to question if I should've come back in the first place after all tge chaos I'm causing everyone.

I closed my eyes.

"Alissa?" I heard Luke's voice.

"Did you get scolded?" I asked in the link.

"It doesn't matter. How's your wound?" he asked.

"Nothing serious. Is Liana okay?" I asked worried.

Luke didn't respond immediately.

"I don't think so. She truly regrets what she did" he said.

I sighed.

"It was an accident. Lia would never hurt me. If you think about it, it was my fault for stepping in" I said.

"You were in fact very stupid for that" he replied.

I sighed again.

"Do not fcking do that ever again, Alissa Ford" he said in a firm tone.

I bit my lower lip.

"It's my fault you guys are in bad terms, right?" I said.

"No, you're not. I brought this upon myself. Don't blame yourself for the mistakes I did in the past and recently" he said.

That was true too.

"Why does all of this have to be so complicated for us?" I said.

"I don't know. I have the same exact question" he replied.

I massaged tge bridge of my nose.

"I'm tired. I should get some rest and talk to Liana tomorrow" I told Luke.

"Okay" he replied.

"Goodnight, Alissa" he said.

I smiled a little.

"Goodnight, your highness" I replied and cut the link.

I pulled a blanket over me and prepared to sleep.

I'll need the energy tomorrow to convince Liana that it wasn't her fault.

That alone can take days so I will definitely need a whole lot of energy and even more amount of patience.

This is going to be tough.
