Alissa's

POV

I looked at him from the other side of the room.

What's wrong with him?

Why is he acting so cold again?

I think even worse this time?

Luke recently just came back from his trip.

He just went on a 2 day trip and he comes back like a completely different person. Actually, no.

This is the Luke that I know and it seems like he has come back to his usual shelf.

He's only steps away from me but he feel so out of reach.

What happened to him?

Flashback...

I stretched my body forward and to the side as I took deep breaths and closed my eyes.

"You're awfully early"

I opened my eyes and saw Kalil.

I chuckled.

"You're late" I pointed out.

"No I'm not. You're just really early" he said.

I shook my head as I chuckled.

"What are we doing today?" I asked.

"Hand to hand combat" he said.

"Cool" I said.

"Come on. Let's go to the ring instead of the center" he said and motioned for me to follow him and I did.

Kalil and I went to the ring and he offered his hand to help me and I took it.

We got on the ring together.

"Let's do this" he said.

I nodded in agreement.

Kalil and I started our hand to hand combat.

I practiced a few skills and techniques that I already know and Kalil taught me a few more.

I wasn't as good as I was before I left and I'm a bit rusty but I can still fight and defend myself really well.

"You still have it, Ali. Give it a few more weeks and I'm sure it'll seem like you never even stopped training. You're great" Kalil said as we took a break.

"You flatter me" I said and drank water.

Kalil chuckled.

"You know, I'm a bit surprised that his highness let's you train as you please" he said.

"Yeah well, it's not like I have anything better to do and it's definitely not like he can stop me from doing what I want to do" I said.

Kalil smiled and chuckled.

"No one can ever stop you if you want it enough" he said.

"Yeah well" I said and we both chuckled.

Then, Kalil and I prepared to continue with the training.

Kalil got a hold of me from the back and he positioned his arm on my neck for s choke hold but I slipped my hand through fast enough so I can prevent him from completely choking me. "Not today, Kalil" I said as I used my weight to push both of us back and as we both stepped back, I used my foot and put it behind Kalil's.

He fell back with me and as soon as he landed with a groan, he also let go of me.

I quickly rolled off him and got on top of him just as fast.

Then, I held him by the neck with a smile.

"Got you" I teased.

Kalil chuckled.

"Should've seen that one coming" he said.

"Uh-huh" I said and we both laughed.

Then, someone cleared their throat and I turned my head to look at who it was only to see the last person I expected it to be. Luke.

"I guess you guys are pretty busy this early in the morning huh" he said with an unreadable expression.

I immediately got up and Luke turned to leave.

I went after him.

"We were training hand to hand combat" I said as I ran after Luke.

Luke stopped and turned to look at me.

"I didn't ask" he said and walked away again.

I caught up to him.

"Then, why do you seem upset?" I said.

"I'm not. Why do you think I'd be?" he said raising a brow at me.

"I don't care about you, Alissa" he said coldly.

My heart squeezed inside of my chest.

End of the Flashback...

What happened to we were going to talk properly when he came back?

He seemed fine when he left and now, he's not.

And here I thought I'd actually start enjoying seeing him around more.

I guess it was too good to be true.

I sighed and stood up to leave Luke's office.

"Where are you going?" Luke asked when he noticed me.

"I'm leaving" I said coldly.

"I thought you were going to say something to me?" he said raising a brow at me.

I looked at him for a moment.

"Maybe some other time" I said and walked out.

I can't take this today.

He can act however he wants, I don't care.

I felt so pissed off and just went outside

I went to the one place that I knew I'd be able to vent my feelings at.

The training grounds.

I walked there as so many thoughts went through my head.

How does one come from caring so much to suddenly not caring at all?

Is it just me?

Was I just over thinking this again?

Did I do something wrong?

Was it because I was with Kalil?

Bit we were only training and it's not like we were doing anything wrong.

I was going crazy with all the questions in my head.

And to think that I was looking forward to seeing Luke when he came back.

And now look at me.

I seriously don't know anymore.

I sighed.

I reached the training grounds and went to the back of the training hall to get changed into more comfortable training clothing.

Kalil had already set up a locker for me for my things since I train in a daily basis and it was more convenient to keep my stuff in a locker.

I changed into a pair of black leggings and a black racer back sports bra then a white low hem sports tank top paired with black rubber shoes.

I closed my locker and came out from the back door.

I needed a more private place to train for today because I'm definitely on my destructive mode.

I went to an empty space that was no longer part of the training grounds but not too deep in the woods either.

I stood in the center, closed my eyes and took a deep breath and as I opened my eyes, they glowed.

I connected with Quinn and then started my training in my wolf form.

I didn't bring equipment or tools so I used what was around me.

That went on for a good hour or two without a single minute of rest.

Once I was done, I stepped back snd looked at the poor tree trunk that I used as a punching bag.

Then I looked at my fists with visible blood and wounds from it.

Fortunately, it was healing well so I didn't really have to worry about it too much.

I just sighed and plopped down the ground.

Even after the training, I still don't feel very well.

It was nothing but a momentary relief for me.

I curled my knees and hugged them before leaning my forehead on my knees.

I wish I could go back to Sol so I wouldn't have to constantly feel this way.

I wish I didn't leave in the first place.

Atleast there I never have to feel neglected.

I stood up and took off my tank top and used it to wipe my sweat then I tossed it by the bushes.

After that, I wandered around the area until my feet took me to a familiar place.

I stood in front of a familiar tree and looked up.

I smiled a little as I realized which tree it was.

Jefery.

Yes, I named a tree. My comfort tree to be exact.

Jefery means freedom from dispute.

I looked around to replace anything that I can climb it with.

I found some vines and decided to use them to go up.

I braided vines together for it to be stronger and I wrapped it by the tree and used it as a tool to go up.

I haven't done it in so long so it was a bit challenging but I made it anyway.

I sat on the tree branch and then leaned my back on the trunk as a familiar feeling of peace and security came over me

I felt like up here, no one would be able to hurt me.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

When I felt sleepy, I used the vines to secure myself on the tree just in case.

I don't really want my death to be by falling off a tree so.

True enough, a few minutes later, I felt sleep came over me.

I don't know how long I was out but it was definitely the most comfortable I've ever been since I came back here in the palace.

Suddenly...

"Alissa Ford!"

Who's calling me?

I slowly fluttered my eyes open and sleepily rubbed it.

Thank the goddess that I didn't forget where I was currently in or more like on.

"Alissa Ford!"

My brows furrowed and I peeked down then I saw Luke.

My eyes widened in panic.

Uh-oh.

How did he even know that I was here in the first place?

Must be Quinn.

She always snitches on me these days.

How ungrateful of her.

She's so down bad for Luke's wolf that she doesn't even think about who the actual person is which is Luke.

"Alissa, get your a-s down, right now!" Luke growled from below.

I gulped nervously.

I'm in so much trouble.

"No. Leave me alone, Luke. You didn't want to talk properly before so I don't want to talk to you now" I shouted at him.

"Is this what all of this is about? Because you want to talk? Then, let's talk! Get down from there and let's talk" he said.

I rolled my eyes.

"You didn't hear me the first time? I said I no longer want to talk to you so don't even try to change my mind because I most likely won't" I replied.

"I want to be alone right now so that means, you should get lost" I added.

I can see Luke's frustration from above.

"Alissa, just get down. If you fall from up there, we'll have nothing to talk about in the future" he argued.

I scoffed.

"I think I would like that a lot" I muttered.

"I still heard that!" he shouted.

I frowned.

Then, I covered my ears.

"Alissa!" I still heard Luke.

"You don't want to come down from there? Fine! I'll get you myself" he said and my brows furrowed.

Wait, what?

I looked down again and saw Luke Leaving.

Wait, is he really leaving?

But then, I saw Luke again now holding a rope and a cloth then he went closer to the tree and he...wrapped the rope and cloth around the tree.

Will he?

Oh ghad.

"Luke, don't you freaking dare come up Jefery!" I said untying myself from the tree.

"You won't go down, right? Then, I'll come up to you" he said.

I finished untying myself.

"Stop or I will freaking jump off from here. Don't freaking test me because I am not in my best mood" I warned.

Luke stopped what he was doing.

"Are you crazy? What has gotten into you?!" he shouted.

My jaw clenched in anger.

"No! I should be asking you that! What has fcking gotten into you, Luke?! One day you were caring and all and suddenly, you come back like the same person you were years ago" I shouted.

"You don't do that to someone you actually care about, Luke! You don't show them you care and then suddenly decide to not care at all! That's fcked up because I'm here left confused as to what I'm supposed to do because all I want was to settle whatever it is that we have and you just can't cooperate!" I vented.

Luke stared at me from below.

"I'm sorry, Ali. I really am. Can you please get down when you've calmed down and let's talk properly?" he said.

I took deep calming breaths and sighed.

Ghad, this is going to drive me insane.

After some time, I went down on my own and Luke waited for me below.

I got to the ground and I stepped back then turned to face Luke.

"Alissa-" he tried to talk but I cut him off.

"Maybe I'm over acting. I don't think we need to talk right now. I feel like right now isn't the time and I'm convinced that even this conversation will eventually become an argument" I said cutting him off. Luke just stared at me.

"I'm not saying we shouldn't talk about what we were going to talk about like what you said before we left but maybe we should do it when we both have cool off entirely, right?" I suggested.

Luke didn't answer for a moment.

"Okay" he said.

I almost wanted to hit him right then and there.

Great.

I said.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, your highness" I said and slightly bowed my head to him before turning my back on him.

I'm an idiot.
