The Werewolf King’s Runaway Queen -
Chapter 36
Alissa's
POV
I looked around Luke's office.
It was the first time that I actually got to observe and appreciate his space.
I only ever came here to complain.
"Have you had breakfast?" Luke asked putting down a cup of coffee in front of me.
"Thank you" I said and took the coffee.
"And yes, I had my breakfast with Liana, Lucas and Bryan" I said.
"How was your did your morning meeting go?" I asked curiously.
"It was okay but I'll be busy the whole day. I won't be able to join you in your training" he said.
"It's fine. I'll manage" I said with a shrug.
Luke slightly smiled.
"What else are you planning to do today?" Luke asked curiously.
"Not sure yet but I think I'll spend more time with Bryan today instead of just training like usual" I told him.
Luke nodded.
"Where are you planning on taking him?" Luke asked me.
"I might take him to get ice cream out of the borders. It'll be Liana, Bryan and I" I said.
"I'll have someone escort the 3 of you for secure purposes. After all, you're the future Queen and Liana is the Princess. I can't afford to lose you guys" he said. I nodded in understanding.
I of course get where he's coming from.
We can't just go in and out of the palace territory without consent or security for a variety of reasons.
Also, I don't really have a problem with the guards coming along every now and then.
Why?
Because I've befriended most of them during training already and I enjoy their presence.
It's not so bad after all.
It's not like how I first started being around them because now, I'm actually comfortable with them.
"Okay, sounds good" I agreed.
Luke leaned on his table as he looked at me.
"Are you sure you don't need anything else?" he asked.
I shook my head.
"No, I'm fine with everything" I said.
Luke stared at me for a moment.
"Okay. Let me know if you need or want anything" he said.
I stood up and prepared to leave.
"Okay. I should head off now. I'm sure you need to get back to work" I said.
Luke approached me and then he slid his arm on my waist then he planted a kiss on my cheek.
"I'll see you later" he said and I immediately flushed red but nodded anyway.
Luke chuckled and let me go.
I left the room with my heart thumping inside of my chest.
Luke really is changing quite a lot.
And I think I am too.
As much as I hate to admit it, I'm starting to warm up to everyone here in the palace including the people who I once didn't get along with.
I never really thought it would happen but it's happening now.
And I'm not even going to complain because I'm actually starting to appreciate it.
I made my way out of the palace after talking to Luke.
I'm going to go to the training grounds as usual.
I got out of the palace and made my way to the training grounds.
I went straight to the training hall where some guards were training at.
Then, I spotted Liana with Lucas.
Wait...Liana?!
They turned in my direction and I was right.
"Ali!" Lia squealed in excitement when she saw me.
She was wearing training clothes as well.
She rushed to me with a wide smile on her face.
"What took you so long?" she said pouting.
"Oh I just talked to Luke and told him that we were going out later. He said he'll have someone guard us just in case" I explained.
Liana smiled and nodded enthusiastically.
"Great!" she said and clung onto my arms before grabbing me with her.
"You didn't tell me that you'd br training today" I said.
"I don't train often. Just when I feel like it. Fortunately today, I felt like it and now, you have a training buddy" she said.
I chuckled and smiled.
Liana is good as combat as well. She also studied self defense and combat at a young age. All of aunt Livi's children actually are very well trained in fighting. Liana though is more special that Luke and Lucas.
How?
Liana inherited aunt Livi's gifts.
Like aunt Livi, Liana has healing abilities and elemental powers as well.
I can still remember watching Lia train on how to use her powers with aunt Livi.
It's the most amazing thing ever and watching them was enchanting.
It doesn't seem like it but Liana is also a very skillful fighter. She uses her brain more than her muscles.
She tends to outsmart her opponents.
Typical Liana behavior.
Lia pulled me to where she and Lucas were training.
"Hey" Lucas greeted me.
I smiled at him.
"Hi. Have you guys been training for long?" I asked curiously.
"Long enough" Lucas said.
I nodded.
"Should I join you guys?" I said.
"Of course! You definitely should" Lia said cheerfully.
Both Lucas and I slightly chuckled.
Lia is so excited. So cute.
"Can I join you guys too?"
We alk turned to look and saw Kalil.
"Hi, Kalil!" Lia greeted Kalil.
"Hey" Kalil greeted Lia back with a smile.
"Did you just get here? I didn't see you earlier" Lia asked curiously.
"Oh yeah. I was running a few errands for Axel and I just got back and went straight here" Axel said.
Lia and I nodded.
"Join us" I told Kalil.
Then, I turned to Lia and Lucas.
"I'll just go and change. Then, we can train together" I said.
"Just like old times" Kalil said.
I smiled.
I glanced at Lia again and she gave me a nod so I went to the back to change.
I went to my locker and got my clothes then changed into them.
I tried replaceing a hair tie bit couldn't replace any.
Maybe Lia has an extra.
I went out again and went back to the others.
I was going to ask Lia but then Kalil went beside me and gave me something.
It was hair tie.
"Just like old times, remember?" he said with a smile.
I lightly chuckled.
Just like old times.
Kalil and I went back out together.
The 4 of us trained together and whenever we did drills by pair, Kalil paired up with me.
It was a really nice training session and Liana did have to excuse herself midway.
The 3 of us were left together but we still kept training.
We rest for a bit and Kalil was called by one of the guards so he had to step out for a while.
"We haven't trained together in so long" I said.
Lucas nodded.
"Yeah. We all used to train together" he said.
Since Lucas and Liana were younger than us, they were behind from us by like a year.
It was only a year though.
We all used to train together and it's always such a nice training session with them.
I get to really challenge myself and I learn a lot of things when we spar.
Liana and I only sparred like once though and never again.
We just couldn't bring ourselves to spar with each other because we feared we'd hurt each other.
We just couldn't so we always just went against the boys.
Kalil came back and we continued to train for a while.
After some time, Lucas had to leave and it was just Kalil and I.
We did a few rounds of shadow sparring then after that we were done.
We didn't train with just the 2 of us for too long since we already did a lot earlier with Liana and Lucas.
Kalil and I went to the back and I just grabbed a few of my stuff that I brought.
After that, Kalil was called by a guard again and he had to quickly leave.
I on the other hand walked back to the Palace.
I went inside and saw Luke by the living room and just as I was about to pass him...
"Alissa" he said.
His tone didn't sound good but I stopped and looked at him anyway.
"Yes?" I said.
He looked at me with furrowed brows.
"Where have you been?" he asked.
"I was at the training halls" I said stating the obvious.
I haven't changed and I looked like a sweaty mess.
"Who were you with?" he then asked
My brows furrowed a little.
"I was with Liana, Lucas and Kalil. Why?" I asked this time.
"Kalil? Why were you training with him?" he asked in an annoyed tone.
"Because I can? Why?" I sais.
Luke's jaw clenched.
"Who said you can?" he said.
I raised a brow at him.
"I did" I said.
Luke scoffed.
"I don't want you to train with him ever again. Or even meet him" he said or more like demanded.
"Excuse me?" I said with furrowed brows.
"You heard me. Stay away from that guy" he said.
I chuckled in disbelief.
"Why would I do that?" I said.
"Because I said so" he said.
I scoffed this time.
"No" I said.
Luke frowned.
"No? You just said no?" he said.
"Yes. I said no" I said with squinted eyes.
"You can't ban me from meeting a friend. You're my mate. You're not my boss" I said.
"I am your superior. I'm the King" he said with gritted teeth.
"Right" I said sarcastically.
"You're not going to use your royalty card on me, Luke. Kalil is my friend. He's just a friend!" I said frustrated.
"I doubt that" he said.
I looked at him offended.
"Luke, Kalil is just a friend. He's like an older brother to me. We don't have a thing of that's what you're going on about" I said.
"I don't care, Alissa. I don't trust tgemhat guy when he's around you" he said.
I closed my eyes in frustration.
"I don't know what in the world is your problem but I'm done with this conversation" I said and I walked away and rushed to my room.
"Alissa!" I heard Luke shout my name but that only made me hurry to back to ny room.
Yeah, no.
He's not getting what he wants this time.
