The Werewolf King’s Runaway Queen -
Chapter 68
Alissa's POV
"Alissa" "Ali"
"Babes"
I grabbed a pillow beside me and covered my face only for it to be snatched away.
"Ali, get up already. We're supposed to go on a run today. Then, we're going training" Liana said.
I groaned as I turned to bury my face on the pillow.
It's still too early in the morning.
The sun hasn't even risen yet.
I don't want to get up right now.
Yesterday was extremely chaotic with the combination of Liana, the kids and Liana's mate, Eero.
Liana and Eero tired me out more than the kids did.
I feel like my lifespan just lost a good 5 years because of the stress I had to deal with yesterday because of them.
Yesterday, we found out that Eero is the Alpha's nephew.
He came in Sol to visit his uncle and didn't even know we were here until he smelled Liana and saw her.
I haven't seen him during my stay here because the Alpha was always the one to visit him in his pack.
And the first time that he's visiting again, we really had to be here.
What timing.
"Ali, please. I'm not going to go on a run without you. That Eero guy might also be out there and I don't want to deal with him. I can but I don't want to" she said with a pout.
I pushed myself up and sighed.
I sat on the and stretched.
"I didn't realize I'd be training again as part of my visit" I said.
"You like training though" she said.
"I do but not after a day of full chaos" I said.
"But you always train after a stressful event" she pointed out.
I bit my lower lip.
"Give me a moment to change" I said and got out of bed.
Lia went out my room with a giggle and I just sighed.
I changed into pair of leggings and a zipper jacket then tied my hair into a ponytail.
I got out of my room and headed to my supposed office.
Bry and Enzo slept there last night. The boys insisted on the room because they wanted to play till late.
Like a sleepover.
So we let them considering this was a temporary stay.
I wanted to let the boys get to know each other as much as they could since they will rarely see each other again.
The thought breaks my heart.
But what can I do?
They were too far away from the palace territory.
I hoped they were closer to us so Bry and Enzo would grow up together.
My little brothers being the best of friends.
That'd be amazing.
I entered the room and saw the boys still sleeping in the mattress.
I smiled and quietly went up to them giving them both a kiss on the top of their heads.
Then, I left the room and went to see Liana in the living room.
Liana was patiently waiting there alone.
Denisse won't be coming so the kids could wake up with her in the house even when we're out. "Let's go?" Lia said.
I nodded.
Lia and I walked outside the house.
"Shall we?" she said.
I nodded and we made a run for it.
We ran to the woods and through it.
For the first time in a while, I felt alive.
My wolf felt alive.
I almost forgot how it actually felt like to be free.
To be able to do what I want to do, whenever I want to do it.
No restrictions. No consequences. No judgments.
This is what life is.
This is the life I want to live.
I only hoped I was able to live it with my mate.
But I can't.
We can't.
We have a ton of responsibilities waiting for us.
I didn't sign up for it but I'm willing to give it a try and give my best.
Not everyone gets to be the future Queen.
But then again, there are some who don't even want to be royalty at all.
I think I'm one of those people.
But I do want to help others.
I want to contribute to my people.
Even with my poor leadership skills.
"Ali!"
I looked at Lia as we ran.
"I'm going for it!" she exclaimed and with that, she shifted into her wolf as we ran.
I chuckled.
This was a good jacket.
Then, I shifted into my wolf as well.
We sprinted through the woods like we haven't ran in forever.
The feeling was different here in Sol.
The palace territory was wide but Sol always made me feel some type of way.
After some time, we reached the cliff.
Lia and I stopped panting.
We laid down beside each other and Lia nudged me slightly with her snout.
I nudged her back and we both huffed.
That was amazing.
Neither one of us talked as we watch the sun rise.
Now I'm actually thankful that Lia woke me up early.
I haven't had the chance to watch the sunrise like this for quite some time.
I remember how I loved watching the sun rise here.
I wish I could watch it repeatedly.
I wouldn't get tired of it.
I'd watch it any day.
Lia leaned her head on my paw and I laid my head on top of hers.
The view was beautiful and this moment was special.
I'm so glad I had the chance to come back in Sol with Liana.
I closed my eyes and as soon as I did, I saw Luke's face.
My heart raced inside of my chest then I felt a gentle squeeze.
I bit my lower lip as I tried to make it go away.
But it didn't.
I tried to open my eyes but the reality was that I do want to see him.
Despite everything that's been happening.
I want to see him.
I want to talk to him.
Be with him even.
