Alissa's POV

I sat by a bench as I watched the boys play with Denisse and Liana on the field by the mall.

About 4 guards were guarding them and chasing around the kids with the girls.

I asked to be given a little privacy and try obliged only because I'm able to handle myself well even without them.

It's already late in the afternoon and we're now done with shopping in the mall.

I sat there quietly as they played.

Until someone sat beside me and I saw a complete stranger.

He wasn't a wolf. He was human.

I awkwardly looked away when he smiled at me.

"Hi miss" he suddenly said.

I didn't answer.

"Miss" he said and he suddenly poked me.

I was a bit surprised as I looked at him.

"Hey" he said and smiled at me.

"What's your name?" he asked.

I looked around.

Help.

"Miss" he said again and scooted closer to me.

Oh ghad.

"Mi-" he was about to say.

"Sis, sorry I took so long"

Eero suddenly came.

I looked up at him as he looked down on the guy beside me.

"And who is this? A friend of yours?" he said raising a brow at the guy then looking at me.

I shook my head.

"Hm" he then looked at the guy again with an intense gaze.

"You're not harassing my sister now, are you?" he said.

The guy gulped and he suddenly got up and ran away.

I sighed in relief.

Eero then sat beside me but there was still space between us.

Just not enough space for another person.

We came in the mall with Eero because he basically came uninvited.

Now, I'm actually relieved he was here.

I turned to look at him.

"Thanks" I said and he looked at me.

"You can stand up to Alphas but you can't stand up to a human?" he said with a slight chuckle.

I scoffed a little.

Then, we looked at where everyone else was.

"You've been in Sol for a while. Shouldn't you be going back to your pack?" I suddenly asked.

"You just owe me earlier and now, you're asking me to go away?" he said.

I chuckled.

"I was just asking. I'm sure you're a pretty busy guy so I don't know why you're chasing around my Liana knowing damn well that you guys don't feel the same intensity of the pull of the mate bond" I said. Eero looked at me.

"How about you?" he said.

My brows furrowed curiously.

"What about me?" I asked.

"Didn't you just get married recently? Shouldn't you be busy spending time with your mate instead of your mate's sister?" he said.

I bit my lower lip.

That was a definite hit.

There was silence after that.

"Was it your choice to leave Sol?" Eero suddenly asked.

I just looked in front. We both did.

"No. No, it wasn't" I said.

"You were forced out of it?" he said.

I nodded.

"Pretty much" I said.

"And how did you feek about that?" he asked further

I was quiet for a moment.

"I was upset, sad, scared and confused. I almost despised my mate for forcing me to leave the pack that I loved the most" I said honestly.

"Did you get along well with your mate eventually? he kept asking.

I looked down.

"No, not really. We fought more than the times we actually got along" I said and looked at him as he looked at me.

"You think that's what will happen to my mate and I?" he said.

I stared straight into his eyes.

"No" I said.

"I think it'll be worse" I immediately added.

His brows furrowed and I looked in front again.

"I knew my mate even before we got together. We dealt with each other's antics for year. We didn't get along even then but we knew each other pretty well" I said.

"You and Liana are complete strangers and to her and her family, you're already a threat to her safety since you pulled a kidnapping stunt on her" I continued. "Liana isn't submissive. Not unless you're her mom" I told him.

"I've watched her hold her brother's neck in anger. And that wasn't even too long ago. He was already King then but that didn't stop Liana from lashing out on him" I said. "She's strong, powerful and amazing in many way" I told him.

"My point is, she's not like any other she-wolf. She won't submit to you just because you're 'supposedly' mates" I said.

"You've got to earn a place in her life before anything else" I said and looked at him.

Eero looked back at me.

"How do I do that?" he said.

"Well, I don't know but you should probably start by reflecting on why you shouldn't have resorted to kidnapping and traumatizing her" I said.

"I was caught up in the moment. It was what I thought would be the easiest way to talk to her" he said.

I chuckled.

"You could've definitely handled it better" I said.

"What would you have done if you were in my place then?" he said.

I thought about it.

"Maybe use your words instead of giving 'threat to safety' vibes" I said.

We both chuckled.

"What I'm saying is you can't and you shouldn't force a relationship with someone. Not even your own mate" I said.

"It's going to be harder for both of you if you do that. I know you don't know me so I can't say trust me but at least believe in what I'm saying because it's based from experience" I said.

"I don't want to see Lia unhappy. She has big expectations for her relationship. I'm not pressuring you but I hope that in time, you'll be able to give her just that because she dearly the world" I said looking at Liana from afar. "Let her come to you, Eero" I said and looked at him.

Eero looked at me for a moment then looked down with a sigh.

He didn't say anything anymore.

I wonder what he's thinking.
