Alissa's

POV

I fluttered my eyes open to the sound of the alarm clock.

I pushed myself up and looked at the other side of the bed.

Luke was no longer there.

I felt him get up really early so I guess that was why.

I got out of bed to prepare for the day and went to the bathroom to shower.

I took a long shower since we traveled for a long time and I was too tired to shower last night.

After showering, I dried myself and wrapped my body in my bathrobe and dried my hair.

Then, I grabbed a white lace up backless ruffle hem romper and paired it with white tie leg strappy sandals.

I let my wavy hair down and put powder and some tint on my lips.

Then, I went out of the room and downstairs.

"Good morning, milady"

"Good morning, lady Alissa"

"Good morning, your majesty"

The palace staff greeted me when they saw me.

Everyone seemed busy as the preparation for the coronation finally began.

I went to the kitchen to grab some breakfast and saw Lucas there.

"Good morning" I greeted him.

Lucas turned to look at me and smiled.

"Morning, sis" he said and playfully winked at me.

I chuckled and sat down across from him after I grabbed myself some food.

"Have you seen Lia yet?" I asked.

"She isn't awake yet. Give her an hour or two more. Maybe another hour for her to get prepared" he said.

I chuckled.

"And Luke?" I asked.

"He's already up?" he said.

I nodded.

"Yeah. He woke up pretty early, I think" I said.

"Haven't seen him" Lucas said.

I nodded in understanding.

"So..." Lucas said.

"How are you feeling about the coronation preparation?" he asked.

"Honestly?" I said.

Lucas chuckled.

"Yes, honestly" he said.

I took a deep breath.

"I look okay but I'm actually really anxious inside" I told him.

"I had a lot of time to prepare and to learn but I just feel like something is still missing, you know? Or something is wrong and I don't know what it is" I said. "Just relax, Ali. You'll figure out what it is eventually" Lucas told me.

I nodded and sighed.

"I guess" I said.

"What are your plans today?" I asked Lucas curiously.

"I'm helping Lia out with whatever she needs help with but first, she needs to wake up" he said.

I chuckled and nodded.

"You? What do you have planned today?" Lucas asked.

"Well, I'm going over the preparation for the coronation with Luke. Once I replace him" I said and Lucas chuckled as well.

"Goodluck to us but mostly to you" he said.

We finished up our breakfast and went separate ways.

I looked for Luke all over and eventually found him in the woods by the tree I always climbed on.

"I've been looking for you everywhere. Why are you here?" I said and he looked my way.

Luke smiled as he gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"I just had a meeting with the guards in the headquarters. I went out for a walk thinking you were still asleep and saw your tree" he explained. I nodded.

"We should head back to the Palace. Everyone seems busy and I'm pretty sure we should be too" I said.

Luke chuckled and nodded before holding my hand.

We walked back to the Palace and went straight to Luke's office.

"The coronation plans are in my desk" Luke said as he got something from his shelf.

I looked at Luke's desk and saw the plans for the coronation.

I went through the plans and Luke came and sat on his chair then he pulled me to him and sat me on his lap.

I chuckled.

"Shall we start?" I said.

Luke nodded.

Luke and I went through the plans together and added and finalized some more stuff for the coronation day.

I didn't know that the coronation would be more work than the wedding.

Invitations were already sent out even before we left for Crescent Moon and that's that.

"I need to go out for lunch to run an errand outside the Palace. I'll be sure to come home before dinner" Luke said.

I nodded in understanding.

"That's fine. We already did a lot today and I'd like to help Liana and Lucas as well. I'll join them for lunch while you're out and wait till you come back to the Palace later" I said. Luke smiled and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

After that, we hanged out for a bit before he needed to leave.

I saw Luke off as he left the palace.

"I'll be back later" he said and gave me a peck on the lips.

I waved him off and got back inside.

I searched for Lia and Lucas and found them by the garden.

"Hey" I greeted them and they looked back to look at me.

"Hi, babes!" Lia said standing up and giving me a hug.

"Mind if I join you guys? Luke and I finished our task for the day and he left to run an errand outside the territory" I said.

"Of course" Lucas said.

I sat down with the twins as I watched them do their thing.

"We can't put this Alpha next to this one. They will fight in less than 10 minutes, I will guarantee you that" Lia said.

"Then, put him on the table on the other side" Lucas said.

They were planning table arrangement.

The twins are more familiar than the Alphas in both Lunar and Halo and it's important that they settle the sitting arrangement because not every Alpha likes the other. "And we can put this Alpha here" Lia said and I looked at the name and I immediately glanced at Lucas' reaction.

"Why does he get to sit near our table?" Lucas said with furrowed brows.

"Next" Lia ignored him.

The Alpha in question was Lia's mate.

Hm. Fishy.

Lucas and I glanced at each other.

He gave me a questioning look and I shrugged.

I don't know anything about it.

I gave him a 'do you know anything?' look.

Lucas also shrugged.

Then, we both chuckled.

"What?" Lia said looking at Lucas and I.

Lucas and I glanced at each other then shrugged.

After that we burst into laughter and Lia pouted as he watched us.

"What is it?" she asked sulking.

I tried to stop laughing and looked at Lia.

"Be honest" I said.

"What is it?" Lia asked.

I pointed to the sitting arrangement.

"What's this about?" I asked and pointed to her mate's table that was close to ours.

Lia looked away and bit her lower lip.

I pursed my lips trying not to laugh as she turned red.

"Don't tell me..." I said.

Lia said.

"It's not that. It's just. I...I'm curious about him but nothing else really" she said.

I smiled as Lia became flustered.

"What are you being flustered about?" I said.

"He's your mate. You're allowed to like him. We wouldn't judge you. Well, I wouldn't judge you" I said when I glanced at Lucas and he was already slightly judging his sister.

"I know but at the same time we don't know if it's true or not yet until I actually turn 18" Lia said.

"Isn't his misery and longing enough proof that he is indeed your mate and your absence in his life is driving him on the edge" I said.

"Or he could be acting" Lucas said.

I gave him a look.

"Not helping" I said.

"I wasn't trying to back you up on this one. Sorry, Ali" he said.

I chuckled.

Oh Lucas.

Lia glared at her brother.

"He doesn't seem all that, you know?" I said.

"Right?" Lia said hopeful.

"You don't know that" Lucas said.

Lia glared at him again.

"And do you know?" Lia said.

"I've met the guy more times than you did" Lucas said.

Lia pouted.

"Quit it, Lucas. You're confusing Lia even more" I said.

"I'm not confusing her. I just don't want her to trust the guy immediately just because he claims to be her mate" he said.

"I never said I trust him already" Lia argued.

"Yeah well you trust him enough to let him be around you and your family" he said.

Lia pursed her lips and what started as a harmless joke was starting to become a heated conversation.

I cleared my throat.

"Uh, Lucas can you please come with me for a moment" I said.

Lucas sighed and got up.

I got up as well and followed Lucas inside.

Lucas was the cool headed one but I guess this topic was a bit too much for him.

Lucas is the calm type but he does very easily lose his cool when it's about his twin.

I guess that was why he was getting abit riled up.

Not good so I need to do something.

"Can you please step aside for a moment until you're feeling a bit more calm?" I said.

Lucas sighed.

"I'm sorry it's just..." he said.

"I know, Lucas. I understand" I said.

Lucas looked at me for a moment and nodded.

"I'll go to my office for a moment" he said and I nodded.

"Okay. Thank you" I said and Lucas nodded then went bacn to his room.

I sighed in relief.

I think I need a breather as well.

I stepped outside from the the back door and walked to the woods for a little breather.

I walked through the woods.

Then I thought about a few things.

Lia and her mate interacted back in Sol and we were all together for some time.

Lia doesn't feel how strong the bond is yet but she definitely feels some kind of connection or attraction with him.

It's not unlikely because I do genuinely feel that they really are mates.

Although at first they might have gotten off the wrong foot. I could relate. It's normal.

I was even worse compared to Lia.

Sometimes I really can't wait for Lia to come of age because I feel like it's going to be such a relief once she finally confirms that he's her mate and it's going to make things so much easier. But then Lucas came to my mind and I thought about him.

If Lia ends up being mates with that Alpha then chances are she'll come with him to his pack.

And Lucas... Lucas will need to stay back at the Palace without his twin.

Then, I came to a realization.

So that's why it's a sensitive topic to him.

Lucas knew what was going to happen if they were indeed mates.

He'll have to let his twin go.

I sighed.

Then suddenly, I heard rustling.

I stopped and my eyes widened when I suddenly caught a scents.

Rogues.
