Chapter 58

Chapter 58 Please Show Jay Some Respect

"Hey, Lyn! Aren't you going to introduce me to the lady beside you?" Jay asked casually as heapproached Lyndsey and Maria.

Within the core circle of a crew, the actors who played the hero and heroine wereirreplaceable.Everyone liked to spend time with them. For Jay, it was already his second time doing aproject with Lyndsey.

Because of this, they had developed a tacit understanding and a close relationship.

At the same time, Jay had noticed Maria since she appeared on the crew.

Although he guessed that this idle and beautiful script supervisor might have only gotten her positionthrough some influential backers, he didn't actually mind it.

After all, in the entertainment circle, this kind of thing would usually happen. It had almost become anorm and he had already gotten used to it.

Before Lyndsey could say anything, Maria took the initiative to introduce herself.

"My name is Maria Jenkins.I'm here as a script supervisor."

Hearing her straightforward and casual response, Jay was a little surprised. Her tone sounded a littletoo indifferent and unrestrained.

Just as he expected from the beginning, it seemed that Maria was not an ordinary person.Jay thengrinned and introduced himself seriously in the same way Maria just did, "My name is Jay Reed.I'mhere to play the part of the hero in this show."

Maria already knew that, so she just nodded without much care. However, Jay's assistant couldn'tbelieve what he had witnessed.

In the back of his mind, he couldn't fathom how this girl could be so calm. Not just in front of anycelebrity, but Jay Reed. Was Jay not up to her standards? That was impossible.Or maybe she wassimply not interested in men? In a recent survey conducted by a famous entertainment magazine, Jaywas voted as the male artist that girls wanted to marry the most.

Delivery stations across the country would always get filled with various packages addressed to himfrom senders claiming to be his beloved wife.

Maria should have at least felt a little excited when she met Jay.

This was the first time that Jay's assistant encountered someone who didn't fawn over his boss, so hefound it strange and unbelievable.

"Oh, hey.You got so many drinks. Can I have one?"

Without waiting for Lyndsey's approval, Jay casually reached for a bottle inside the bag.He had alreadyworked with her on two TV shows, and they had gotten along, so taking one drink shouldn't be aproblem.

However, he didn't expect what had happen next.

Slap! Lyndsey suddenly smacked his hand off the bag and glared at him.

"Hey! Let M— I mean, let Maria choose first."

At that moment, Lyndsey almost forgot that Maria had told her not to call her by her pseudonym andjust address her as Maria instead.

Even so, it had already become a habit.

There could even be a part of her that didn't actually want to change it at all.She wanted to call her Miaand let everyone know that this stunning young lady was the very idol she adored. But sadly, Mariaseemed to want to keep her identity a secret.

Of course, Jay had no choice but to take his hand back.He had to gently rub his hand to ease off thepain from getting slapped by Lyndsey. It seemed that she used a lot of strength when she hit him justnow.

Upon seeing this, the assistant felt so anxious that he almost cursed Lyndsey. He couldn't believe howshe had the guts to hurt his boss for a measly bottled drink.

Despite his displeasure, he tried to control himself by reminding himself that Lyndsey had just recentlywon Best Actress and was playing the lead role in this play.

She wasn't someone he could afford to offend.

However, that wasn't going to stop him from blaming her in his heart.

In his mind, Lyndsey could have just told him off nicely.

Was this script supervisor more important than the recent Best Actor awardee? The assistant glared atMaria with resentment, but she was busy inspecting the drinks that she didn't notice at all.

"Maria, look! This one's a passion fruit-flavored soda.It actually has alcohol in it, but it's not strong, andit's great to drink one before a nap. This yogurt tastes good too! It's good for digestion.I drink it everyday! Would you like to try this? Or...how about this fruit vinegar? It's good for your skin.Plus! It's got lowsugar content."

After introducing every bottled beverage she picked out for Maria in detail, Lyndsey realized in the endthat she wanted to give her all three drinks.

At this point, she turned to Jay and blurted, "The store's only a few blocks away.Just go buy a drinkyourself."

Clearly, Jay was at a loss that she would treat him that way.He was so stunned that he could only stareat Lyndsey with wide eyes.

Even his assistant was taken aback. He couldn't believe that she prioritized a mere script supervisorover her co-lead.

Apparently, Maria was also rendered speechless by what Lyndsey said and turned to her inshock. However, the assistant couldn't let it go.It was just one drink.

Lyndsey had already slapped Jay's hand earlier.

Now, she refused him again and even asked him to go to the store himself.

Couldn't she show some respect to Jay? He was her equal, a Best Actor award. The assistant clenchedhis fists.

Indeed, the store was a couple of blocks away.

Lyndsey had more than enough drinks that she could share, yet she selfishly told him to walk inmakeup and heavy costumes and buy his own drink.

Finally, Jay's assistant could not take it anymore. In his heart, he was already exploding in anger.Thisgirl was just too much.

How dare she bully such a sweet guy? If Jay wouldn't say anything, he would do it himself. He was sodetermined to make Lyndsey know her place.
