The Wife I Never Met

“She organized another blind date for you didn’t she?” her heart sank as she asked this question, to her this felt like being cheated on. She understood that Liam wasn’t at all interested in his mom’s games, but the insecure inner voice told her otherwise. She wanted to trust him, but she’s really scared. What she also wondered was, if Liam’s mom was to replace out about her relationship with Liam, would she like Ciara and accept her as her daughter in-law. What if she doesn’t approve of her, would she respect the relationship between herself and Liam or would she continue with these so called blind dates till she replaces the one she approved of. Just the thought of this got her riled up.

“well as much as I wouldn’t rule that out, but I don’t think she would invite an outsider to the family dinner. And even if she does, you just don’t have to worry I’ll behave myself.” he then flashed her his most beautiful smile.

“I really don’t like this one bit, how could I ever relax knowing that my husband is being looked at by a bunch of women like he’s a piece of meat,

It just doesn’t sit well with me.”

Liam looked at his jealous wife with a smile, he felt that her jealousy meant something and at this point the only thing he could think of, is that she might have started developing feelings for him.

He then pulled her chin up so that she could face him and sincerely stated.

“Hey as much as you are my wife and everything in you belong to me, I too belong to you, in my heart there is no room for another person and in my eyes only you can be seen. You need not worry as I will always be by your side. You own me sweetheart, remember that , you own me. “

At his words Ciara had calmed down a little, but because she was starving as she hadn’t had anything to eat the whole day, Liam just couldn’t tell how she was feeling and thought she was still feeling uneasy.

He was now wracking his brain trying to replace a way to cheer her up, but the sound of footsteps approaching disturbed his thinking. He stood up to show respect as the couple from earlier returned and sat with them in their table.

Liam then went on to introduce the couple to his wife, turns out that this mountain valley property belonged to them and it is a private restaurant where they only take one booking per week. This restaurant didn’t have a menu and each meal served come as a surprise to the guests. Even so, many of the rich and famous would kill to secure a booking in this restaurant as it is mostly fully booked through out the year.

But of course this has never been the case for Liam as he was close to the owners.

“Ciara these are my friends Steve James and his wife Dr Noms Jonas, we actually met a while back when I was abroad for business management training, Steve here has taught me a lot about the business world.”

Ciara tried to be as welcoming as she could but she was just so hungry that it appeared to them as if she was grumpy and did not want to be there. She gave them a half hearted smile and then responded.

” nice to meet you, Steve and Noms. ” she kept looking at the door, but when Liam saw her actions, he thought she was probably angry and didn’t want him to go to his family house.

Right then the door opened and a trolley with a number of dishes was pushed in, Ciara’s eyes were glued to the trolley as it made it’s way to the table where they were. The food was then placed on the table and the staff left the room with the trolley.

As soon as the door was closed, all her table manners were gone and at that point nothing existed but the Food on the table. She didn’t even take the time to appreciate the taste and flavors, all she cared about was only to fill her stomach.

All this while a pair of eyes were also glued to her, all her actions did not go unnoticed, Noms smiled as she looked at the hungry woman who had forgotten everything about being a lady or at least behaving like one. ‘so she’s not grumpy but hungry I see, what a cutie.’

While Ciara was fully focused on filling her stomach up, she didn’t notice that none of the people at the table were eating but all of them were actually looking at her.

“Hey slow down, you are going to choke.”

That Familiar voice reminded her that she was not the only person at that table, so she raised her head and only realized then that no one had touched their food. Feeling embarrassed, she smiled awkwardly.

“I’m truly sorry for being forward.” she said that while wiping her mouth using the napkin on the table.

They wanted her to be comfortable so Noms was the first to comment.

“Girl don’t be ashamed, you can eat as much as you want.”

Feeling relieved that someone understood her, and now with a little foods in her stomach she was able to respond.

“God you have no idea how starving I was.!”

Her dramatic exclamation made everyone in the room laugh. So now it was evident that she was not grumpy or angry as they thought but was just hungry. Ciara was now back to her cheerful self.
