The Woman From Hell -
Chapter 1287
Chapter 1287
Matthew frowned, looking extremely unhappy. I did not know nor did I want to know why he was unhappy.
I had said what I needed to say. What was left now was for him to reflect on it himself.
I walked around the first-floor lobby before replaceing Liz and Laney.
Laney was holding the baby as Liz gobbled up the food as though they were merely things to fill up her tummy regardless of how it tasted like. She had probably eaten too little in the morning and was starving by now.
She saw me out of the corners of her eyes and stopped eating
Maybe she felt a little awkward, she raised
her hand and wiped her mouth haphazardly with her sleeve. She then gave me a slightly stiff smile.
Her hair was even messier than before, making her look much more haggard now. It was as though every pain that Matthew inflicted on her wassapping her vitality.
I walked over and sat on the chair, waiting for her to finish her foed in silence.
The air was a little awkward. Laneystarted, "Girls today love dressing upand eating less in order to keep fit,but how are you supposed toincrease milk’production that way?In our days; we ate raw eggs aftergiving bith'and some other horribtetasting=food, but we produced moremilk-after that. Our babies couldn'teven finish it. After a night's-sleep,our clothes and beds woutd bestained. Later, we would p PUMP someat night before we slept and save it.But that wouldn't be for the baby.We didn't have a fridge at the time,so we were afraid that the babywould get sick from drinking it.Later, we learned from the TV thatbreastmilk is a woman's blood. Iregretted throwing away the milk mybaby couldn't finish."
Liz swallowed the last bit of food and looked at the baby in her arms, saying with a bitter smile, "It's our blood and water, alright.”She got up to wash the lunch box and took the child from Laney's arms when she came back to feed him milk.Although the baby was small, he was strong. Now that he was starving, he used a lot of strength
Liz was in so much pain that her complexion turned pale, yet she endured it. Laney went upstairs to take care of Matthew. Liz and I locked gazes. Weboth knew that we each had something to say.
However, neither of us wanted to start first. It was not that we did not want to but we did not know how.
Eventually, Lizgpoke first. Shelooked at mend said somewhatbitterly, With the state that I'm ~~currentlydn, you probably look downon me-yery much, don't you? If youwant{o laugh at me, then go-ahead.I'vesgotten used to being laughed atthese days.” Content belgngs toNarugi.Org
I pursed my-lips, not wanting to replyto that. I said something else, It's”not like Matthew doesn't have anymoney: You can hire a few nanniesto take care of you and the baby tomake it a lot easier for yourself.”
Q
As the boss of a listed company, Matthew could easily let his wife and son live a lifewithout worrying about food and clothes.
People who lived at the bottom were tired from making a living that oftentimes, they did not even care about decency.
