The Woman From Hell
Chapter 2612

Nibel looked at me with amusement in his eyes. "I think you misunderstood me, Miss Wanda. I called you here today not to get you to help me convince President Grant but simply to explain what happened before."

"Is that so? That's fine, then. But I suppose that with your power, Mr. Nibel, reaching a partnership with Grant Corporation would be imperative," I said sincerely. Theo would work together with Nibel. Nibel's head fell back as he laughed the moment I said that. "I'll be counting on your blessing then, Miss Wanda. This tea is pretty good, no?"

I was a little stuck due to the sudden change of topic. Stunned, I then said, "Yes, it's not bad. It has a strong aroma and a sweet aftertaste. I didn't expect you to have researched tea."

"It's not really research. I just enjoy it. Hatton tea leaves are very different."

I was not interested in tea leaves and could only offer him a smile.

"I hope you'll believe me, Miss Wanda."

"I think there's some credibility."

As if I would believe him.

I smiled faintly. Theo wanted me to cooperate with him. This ought to be enough, then.

I rejected Nibel's offer for dinner that night and went back to the apartment.

I noted that the lights in the living room were on before I even went in. Was there a burglar?

I entered carefully and heard clanging from the kitchen. I picked up the broom behind the door and moved toward the kitchen.

Seeing the shadow drift out, I raised the broom and was about to defend myself when my ears registered a familiar voice. "Wanda?" "Theo?"

I almost hit his head.

I put down the broom and sighed with relief. "It's you. Why did you come over without saying anything?"

Theo placed the dish of vegetables that he had just cooked on the table. "Would I have to come here if someone had refused to come home?"

Lips pursed, I turned my gaze to the dining table. Theo had cooked a lot of dishes. "Not bad."

"I have to work hard to win my wife's heart again."

"Are you trying to win me through my stomach?"

"Sit down. It's time to eat."

Theo scooped up a bowl of soup and handed it to me.

This felt like a scene that has not happened for a long time.

I lowered my head and smiled. "Eating with you somehow feels like something I did in my previous life."

"You're right. We don't often get to sit down quietly like this and eat together now. Now that it has all come to an end, we can finally enjoy each other's company." Theo raised his brows at me before taking out two tall glasses of wine.

I lifted the glass of wine before him. "To us."

"It's been a while since we saw the children. Let's bring them back together tomorrow." I raised my glass and clinked it with his.

Theo nodded. "Alright. Let's bring them back tomorrow."

Munchkin suffered quite a bit because of what was happening between us. He could not go to school for his classes and could only spend all his time at Drover's place. He must be beyond bored.

The two children as well. Could they be almost forgetting who Theo and I were?

Noticing that my attention was drifting, Theo reached his hand out and called me back. "Stop thinking about the children. Think of me."

"You're right in front of me. There's nothing much to think about."

"We've been apart for so long. It's not easy for us to have this moment. Shouldn't you pay more attention?" The was rather displeased about me getting distracted.

I smiled. "Yes, yes, yes. I'll focus."

"Today is our time." Theo looked at me, his eyes filled with affection.

"Should we go get married again tomorrow before we fetch the children?"

"Didn't I say that it depends on your performance?"

"I'm informing you, not asking for your opinion. Listen to me."
