The Woman From Hell -
Chapter 2626
"Marius did tell me about it, yes, but I also made it clear to him that I only see him as a brother now." I could still recall the scene back when Marius had confessed to me. I felt a bit embarrassed thinking about it now.
Theo looked at me, his eyes seemingly wavering. "But I don't think his feelings towards you are just of siblingly love. There'll never be a pure friendship between opposite sexes."
I was very aware of what he was saying and did not refute him.
"I know, but he understands what I've told him. He's given me so much help. Of course, I understand his intentions. I've already explained everything to him. I think we should give him some time. He'll figure it out. Perhaps his feelings will fade away once he meets someone right for him. "
I could not just reject Marius' friendship. I let out a breath and looked up at Theo. "You say we're an old couple, yet you're still worried that I'll run away with someone?"
"How can I not worry with how charming you are?"
"Aren't you the same, President Grant?" I hugged him, smiling lightly as I leaned my head against his chest.
He reached his arms out and hugged me back. He then covered me with the blanket. "Okay, but I still have to reduce his contact with us to prevent him from having unreasonable thoughts about you." Hearing the childishness of his voice, I said nothing.
He could do whatever he wanted as long as it did not affect our relationship.
I pursed my lips and smiled slightly. Sometime later, I fell asleep.
When I woke up the next day, I was still in Theo's arms.
His hand must be numb after I had laid on it the entire night.
I sat up. Theo also opened his eyes. "Good morning."
I looked back at him. "Good morning. It's unusual for you to sleep in."
Theo got up slowly. He seemed to have trouble lifting his right hand and frowned. "You went to sleep with your head on my arm. I didn't want to disturb your rest, so I slept in."
"Your arm's numb now, right?" I could not help but touch him.
I heard Theo hiss.
It looked like it really was numb.
"I'm sorry. Why don't you move it about and put some life back into it for now? l go wash up." I got off the bed. Turning back and seeing Theo look at his hand with a pained expression, I could not help but giggle.
con
Theo probably caught me snickering and shot his gaze over to me. "Are you laughing at me?"
"It's quite funny to see you like this, President Grant." I pursed my lips and smiled slightly.
Theo frowned. "Go wash up."
"Got it."
I closed the bathroom door, cutting my view of him.
When I came out, Theo was already dressed and standing before the mirror as he tied his tie. He was having a little trouble, however, since his arm had not completely gone back to normal.
"Let me."
I went up to him and cleaned up his messy tie before tying it into a proper knot.
The corners of Theo's lips turned up slightly. "Even though we've been married for so long, I don't think you've tied my tie for me that many times."
Thinking about it, I nodded. "You're right. I haven't done it many times."
It was probably just a handful of times.
Theo looked at me and said in a serious tone, "I'll leave my tie to you from now on, Madam."
"Why so sudden?"
"To foster our relationship. So that we don't get tired of one another," Theo replied, winking at me.
A smile slowly made its way to my face. "Alright, leave it to me, then."
After tying the knot, I patted his tie and said, "Take a look and see if it's alright."
Theo turned to face the mirror, looking satisfied. "Not bad."
Seeing him like this made me so happy...
