The Woman From Hell -
Chapter 2629
Theo and Keith informed me that they were going to visit a client and left me at the office. While I was working halfway, Shannon called me.
"My dear friend, are you still busy? Do you have time to keep me company tonight?"
Thinking about it, it had been a long time since I met up with Shannon.
I agreed. "Yes. I'll see you tonight."
"I'll send you the address."
Not long after I ended the call, I received a message from Shannon.
Twilight Bar?
Shannon rarely patronized bars after giving birth to her child. Why did she want to go there today all of a sudden? Something did not feel right.
I quickly finished the work at hand so that I could meet Shannon on time. I reached the bar at roughly seven o'clock. Shannon informed me through text that she was at seat 25. I asked the server about it and arrived smoothly.
She was listening to the music, swaying.
"Shannon."
Seeing me, Shannon pulled me. "Wanda, you're here. Come dance with me."
"Does Jordan know you're here?"
"He doesn't need to know for me to come here. Let's not talk about him. I just came here to have fun."
Shannon waved her arms and danced to the rhythm.
I sighed and said nothing else.
After dancing till she was most likely tired, Shannon sat down and took a sip of wine. "This is bad. I'm old now. I'm tired even after just dancing for a while."
"Shannon, is there something bothering you?" I looked at her and gave voice to my query.
She waved her hand. "Nothing's bothering me. It's just that I haven't been here for a long time that I had a sudden impulse to come." Shannon downed the wine in her glass. Shannon had never been able to hide her emotions. If she were sad, she would most likely just show it.
Seeing the feeling of glory on her face, I did not ask her any more questions.
"Drink, Wanda. Let's regain the feeling of youth."
I picked up the wine glass, replaceing her words a little humorous. "We're not that old yet."
"We are old now. I don't feel young anymore. My stamina isn't as good as before," Shannon said and took another sip of wine.
Seeing how hard she was going
through the alcohol, I worried she might get drunk and quickly advised her, "Don't drink too fast. You get drunk easily."
"It's better to be drunk. We won't go home until we get drunk tonight."
Looking at her state now, I could no longer believe that Shannon was fine.
Could something have happened?
I frowned before sending Jordan a message informing him that Shannon and I were at Twilight Bar.
In a blink of an eye, three hours had passed but Jordan did not reply to my message. Seeing that Shannon was drunk, I went over to support her Shannon, you're drunk. Det's go home now, yeah?"

"I'm not drunk yet. I feel the best right now. I can't leave." Shannon was slurring her words a little, and she stubbornly refused to leave. Seeing her like this, I had no choice but to let her go.
Time slowly passed. Shannon was
still dancing, having all but forgotten about me. "Shannon, I'm going to the bathroom. Stay here and don't go anywhere, alright?"
"Okay. You go ahead."
I went to the bathroom and called Jordan, but no one answered.
What the heck was going on?
I called him a few more times, but he never answered. Helpless, I could only call Theo. "Theo."
"Madam, it's me."
"Keith? Where's Theo?"
"He's still in the middle of a dinner party. I'll pass the phone to him."
A dinner party? I had better not disturb him.
"It's fine. You guys go ahead. I'll call him later."
I ended the call. Even Theo was not free at the moment. I probably would not be able to move Shannon on my own.
Right.
I dialed my phone again, and the call instantly connected. "Marius, can I trouble you to come to Twilight Bar?"
