The Woman From Hell -
Chapter 2739
After having reached an agreement with Sylvester, Theo would pull Sylvester in whenever there were good projects. Gradually, Sylvester also lowered his guard.
My relationship with Rooney was also improving.
She called me that day.
"Wanda, Sylvester will be working overtime at the company tonight, and I'll be home alone. Would you like to accompany me?" I could imagine Rooney's pitiful gaze at the moment based on her voice. This was a good opportunity. Sylvester would not be home.
I agreed, "Okay, I'll get ready and head over in a bit."
"Okay."
After hanging up the phone, I turned to look at Theo. "Sylvester is working overtime tonight, and Rooney asked me to accompany her."
"The opportunity has come. Take hold of it. I'll wait for good news. Of course, you also need to be careful..." Theo could not help himself from telling me everything I should pay attention to.
I kissed the corner of his mouth. "I'm just going over for one night. Wait for me."
"I'll take you there. I'll fetch you tomorrow morning too."
After dropping me off at the entrance of Yard Mansion, Theo turned around and went back. The housekeeper led me into the mansion.
The villa was shrouded by night, making the place feel even eerier.
I could not help but look upstairs. It was pitch dark.
I could not help the chill that surged in my heart. I shrugged my shoulder and followed the housekeeper into the living room.
Rooney had already been waiting for me and hurriedly rushed over to greet me when she saw me. "You're finally here, Wanda. I've waited for you for so long. Look, I cut up some fruits for us."
The shape of the fruits she was holding was delicate. Rooney had turned them into beautiful carvings like they were some handicrafts.
"They're so beautiful. I didn't expect you to have this craftsmanship."
"I was bored, so I went and learn it for a bit. Let's look for a movie to watch."
Rooney used the remote control and carefully selected a film. My mind was not on the movie at all. I kept looking upstairs from time to time.
Time passed quietly, and the night grew darker.
"I'm so sleepy. Let's go back to our rooms and rest." Rooney yawned.
"Alright."
I followed Rooney. When we passed the study while making our way upstairs, I noticed it was empty. "It's cleaned up so fast."
"Yes. Everything's been moved into a small warehouse."
I did not ask anymore and followed Rooney into a room.
After showering, Rooney and I went to bed. Rooney must have been exhausted as I heard her snoring away not long after.
"Rooney, are you asleep?" I whispered to see if she was still awake.
Hearing no answer, I tapped her. "Rooney?"
"Hm," she answered lightly before going silent again.
She was asleep.
After ascertaining that, I put on my coat and tip-toed out of the room.
I reached Sylvester's room and looked inside. The door was open, and there was no one inside.
He had not returned.
This was indeed a good opportunity.
I made my way easily to my
mother's room, turned the knob, and entered. Ldid not dare turn on the lights. I picked up the flashlight I had prepared in advance and searched the small room carefully, replaceing a few discs I had not seen before.
The video back then had not been the end of it.
I put the disc into the player and lowered the sound to a minimum.
Silas appeared on the screen. He was pointing his finger at my mother and accusing her. He was roughly saying that she did not understand the overall situation, that her falling in love with a poor boy, even toping and having a child with him, was an insult to the Yards.
I thought there was nothing else, but
