The Woman From Hell
Chapter 2745

Might not wake up...

"Doesn't that mean she's in a vegetative state..."

Gareth nodded. "Yes, but I can't give her up. That's why I've been getting various experts to treat Millicent for more than 20 years. Unfortunately, nothing has worked. It must not be easy living like this.

My heart hurt for my mother. I could hardly imagine if she still felt anything. She must have been in so much pain for the past 20-plus years.

"I'm very grateful to Rosa. If she hadn't supported me, I'm afraid I wouldn't be where I am today."

Beside me, Theo spoke up, "Miss Rosa was the one who persuaded her family to invest in you. That's why you opened the company."

"That's right. Rosa, I'm sorry. I'm aware of your intentions, but I can't accept you. I can't give you anything." Gareth's words were completely helpless.

Rosa shook her head and smiled. "You said the same words to me 20 years ago. Still, I'm willing. You don't need to apologize to me."

"Aunt Rosa, you're incredible."

"I'm not. I'm only willing because I love him." Rosa looked at me, her eyes revealing her true feelings.

I was also touched by my father's persistence.

"Can I go see Mom? I've never seen her face in person. I really want to see her."

"Of course," Gareth agreed.

Rosa did not come with us and remained at Gareth's home. Gareth rode Theo's car with us and Theo made haste. He probably hoped that I could see my mother faster too. With Gareth's directions, we arrived at the door of the ward where my mother resided.

It was a VIP-exclusive room that no one would be able to locate unless they had permission to enter.

I felt apprehensive at this moment and looked back at Theo. Sensing my nervousness, he grabbed my hand, his gaze filled with power.

I nodded slightly and then opened the door to the ward.

The room was a sea of white, and my mother was lying on the bed. She was still receiving IV drips for nourishment.

"She's physically weak, so her face is always very pale."

It was true.

There was practically no blood on her mother's face. Even so, that did not obscure her delicate features.

Dad must have freshened up Mom a lot. She looked spotless.

I took her hand gently, and it was a

I was 20-plus years late.

"You must have missed me." I choked on my sobs.

I actually had a lot of things I wanted to say, but I could not get them out when I reached this point.

All my words melted into tears as they spilled in the ward.

I did not know how long it took me

to calm down. She lay there motionless, without the slightest reaction, which made me very uncomfortable.

"Did the doctor mention the probability of her recovering?" I asked Gareth.

He shook his head. It was obvious the numbers were not good.

"She's been in a coma for more than 20 years. The doctor told me the last time there was practically no chance of her waking up."

I knew Gareth must be suffering inside. He loved Mom that much.

My tears fell to the ground uncontrollably again. Why must Mom suffer like this?

Theo hugged me and comforted me, "Let it out. You'll feel better after."

My eyes were red and swollen when we left the ward.

"Theo, take Wanda back. I'm going to accompany Millicent."

He definitely had a lot of things he wanted to tell Mom now. "Alright."
