The Woman From Hell
Chapter 455

Chapter 455

When he said that, I nodded and agreed without any hesitation. "Okay. I'll keep a distance from himfrom now on. When his parents' funerals are over, I won't even meet up with him."

Theo was pleased with my response and a smile appeared on his face. "That's my good girl."

After he said that, he kissed me on the lips.

Right after he kissed me, he pressed his lips to my ear and said with a smile, "It's time to serve menow."

When I woke up the next morning, Theo had already left the house. I washed up and wentdownstairs to see Quinn sitting on the sofa in the living room. I went over and greeted her with asmile, "Good morning, Quinn."

Quinn looked at me helplessly. "Good morning? It's almost noon and I've been sitting here waitingfor you for almost two hours."

When Quinn saw the embarrassment on my face, she said with a smile, "Okay, I won't tease youanymore. Get some breakfast. I'd like you to go to someplace with me after that."

I nodded and hurried to the dining room.

After I had my breakfast, Quinn and I changed before we headed out the door. After we drove to thecity center, she told me that we were going to look at some places.

I knew that she was not going to continue staying in the Zimmers’ house after she was done dealingwith the funeral, so she had to look for a new place as soon as possible.

It was just that even though we were on a tight schedule, she was still very picky about the placeswe visited. After looking at properties a few days in a row, none of them took her fancy and it was

starting to give me a headache.

There were only a few more days left till Marcus and Nancy's funerals. Since she was running out oftime to look at properties, she had to stop for the time being.

On the day of Marcus and Nancy's funerals, Quinn and I got up early. The funerals were carried outaccording to customary practice and the burial ceremony was completed in an orderly manner.

In the cemetery, Matthew stood upright in front of Marcus and Nancy's tombstones with afrighteningly cold look on his face.

He looked like he had no more warmth left in him anymore.

I looked at him worriedly. Quinn grabbed my arm and said faintly, "Let's go."

I nodded hesitantly and left with her.

When I got in the car, I kept replaying the scene of Matthew standing in front of the tombstones overand over again in my head. He had lost his parents, and from now on, he only had himself in thisbig world. He would have no one to share his joy with and no one to talk to about his sadness. Hewas going to be lonely.

The more I thought about it, the worse I felt. I wanted t o give him a call but I did not let myself dothat.

Even if I called, I was not sure if I knew what to say to comfort him. Besides, maybe he did not needmy comfort or anyone else's.

Theo was waiting for me in Grant Corporation. Quinn had the driver drive to the entrance of theoffice.

When the car arrived at the entrance of the office building, Quinn got out of the car with me. "I havesomething to tell Theo, so let's go up together."

The driver lowered the window and poked his head out of the car. "Ms. Grant, I'm going to take thecar to the underground parking lot."

Quinn nodded lightly.

Quinn and I turned around and headed inside the office. Suddenly, there was a loud noise behindus that sounded like a violent collision.

Quinn's eyes widened in horror as she turned around, only to see the car that we had just been inknocked over by a medium-sized van. "So it's true. He's really trying to kill me." "What are youtalking about?" I looked at her in surprise.

Quinn's body started shaking. I quickly went to hold her. "Quinn, what's wrong?"

"Matthew wants to kill me. He wants me to die." Quinn's face was full of horror.
