The Woman From Hell
Chapter 487

Chapter 487

Seeing the gentle and tender smile on his face, I felt a surge of warmth in my heart. He knew allalong what I wanted to do but he did not ask because I never told him about it. He did not stop meeither and had been silently helping me.

Up to this point, I must admit that Theo had changed a lot.

My feelings prompted me to hug him. "Thank you, Theo."

Theo laughed. "Don’t mention it, silly.”

I pursed my lips but did not say anything else.

"Miss Woods told me that Cindy gave you trouble," Theo said with a smile.

I laughed mockingly. "She thinks I'm framing her mother."

Theo said after a very long time, "I’ve already arranged for Zedd to take her to France. Sheprobably won’t come back to the country in the future, so you don't have to worry about her."

I hummed a reply.

"Are you unhappy?” Theo lowered his voice. "You can let me know if you're unhappy."

What could be changed if I told him?

How could he leave Cindy to fend for herself for the rest of her life?

I pushed away his hand that was stroking my face." I'm not unhappy. I don't have a problem withyou taking care of her out of responsibility.”

Grandmother did not raise him to be a man bent solely on profits and who considered whethersomething was cost-effective, worthwhile, or necessary. Instead, she taught him to be loyal, filial, and righteous. Therefore, I could understand why he was not able to ignore it every time Cindy wasin trouble.

Theo woke up very early the next morning to go to the company. Quinn was bent on believing that Iwas the one who exposed the incident in the past. When I went downstairs, she kept followingbehind me to make all sorts of snarky remarks. My stomach was not hurting as much anymore, so Iwent to the company after eating breakfast. I feared that I might not be able to stop myself fromberating Quinn if I continued to listen to her.

When I got to the entrance of the company, I bumped into Petra.

Grayson had hired a top-notch lawyer for her. Before she was confirmed to have committed thecrimes, the police were not allowed to detain her any longer. I was surprised that she had come tome right after she got out of the police station.

She was leaning against the car and looked to be in good spirits.

I wanted to walk straight into the company while pretending like I did not see her, but she was hereto see me, so how could she watch me walk in without doing anything? She trotted over to stop mein my tracks. "Is your vision that poor?"

I looked indifferently at her. "How can I help you, Petra?"

She raised her eyebrows. "Let's have a chat."

I did not want to have a chat with her. She was aware of that too, that was why she came straight tomy company’s entrance to wait for me. She knew that I would definitely agree to have a chat withher because I would be worried she would make a scene at the entrance of the company.

"You're pretty smart, Petra," I mockingly said.

"Don’t worry. I'm not here to argue with you." Petra crossed her arms. "Let’s go to the restaurantacross the street."

I nodded blandly.

We walked into the restaurant and took a seat. Petra went straight to the point. "Who gave you thatinformation?"

I tapped my fingers on the table. "Only you know how many sins you committed, Petra. Whichinformation

are you referring to specifically?"

Petra narrowed her eyes. "I must admit that we're alike in so many ways, Wanda. We're able toendure and be hard-headed, not stopping until we achieve our goal. You’ve ruined my hard work allthese years."

After a pause, she continued, "The unpleasant past of mine has been uncovered by you. My biggestwish in life is to marry Grayson and be with him openly, but it's no longer possible now. You haveavenged your child."
