Chapter 899

I went to the bathroom to take a shower. I put on the clothes that I had washed and dried last night.

I was worried about Munchkin, so after going out and drying my hair, I sat on the sofa in a daze. Ioccasionally looked at Theo, rushing him. "Hurry up."

Someone came and brought Theo some clothes. He handed a shopping bag to me, saying, "Theclothes here are new. Want to put them on?"

I shook my head. "It's too much trouble."

When Theo was done changing, I gave Mason a call.

The call quickly got through. The man's weary voice entered my ears. "Wanda."

He sounded like he had not slept all night.

I took a deep breath and adjusted my mood, saying," I'll send you an address. Let's meet up."

"Okay."

After hanging up the phone, I caught Theo staring at m e with a deep and dark gaze.

I was stunned, then I asked, "What's wrong?"

"Let's go to the hospital first,” he said, lifting his hand t o brush away the loose strands in front of my

forehead to the side.

"Forget it." I subconsciously refused. "We should replace Munchkin first. This is our utmost priority rightnow."

Theo frowned. "Your health is equally important."

I took a deep breath. "I said, we should replace Munchkin first."

I got up and walked to the door after saying that.

The man grabbed my arm, and I looked back at him with a frown. "Theo Grant! I just want to replaceMunchkin right now."

Theo gently sighed, his tone filled with helplessness." I'll look for Munchkin. Just listen to me and goto the hospital. When you're done checking, we’ll replace Munchkin together, okay?"

I looked at him, unable to suppress the anger in my heart any longer. "What do you mean you’ll lookfor him? Just because he isn’t your son and he's someone you've never sacrificed for or loved, youthink it’s enough to say that you'll go and look for him?"

After a pause, I continued, "Do you think I can go to the hospital now and get my health checkedwithout a single worry? If I can’t replace Munchkin anymore, why would I even want to be in goodhealth? Theo, do you think it doesn't matter even if we lose Munchkin for good?"

Humans would say impulsive things when they were mad, and once such impulsive words came outof my mouth, it would usually leave me with regrets.

However, the words that were spoken were just like water that had been poured out. They wereimpossible to take back.

Theo's gaze turned cold, and even his tone turned extremely chilly. "Wanda Lane, am I such acoldblooded person in your heart?”

I pursed my lips and did not say anything.

I knew that my words earlier had hurt him. Perhaps I should not have said such things, but I refusedto apologize.

I took a deep breath and said, "I'm leaving.”

My avoidance angered him further. Before I could take a few steps toward the door, he grabbed myarm in a very sudden and forceful manner. He said in an icy voice, "Am I no better than everybodyelse around you?"

He was truly enraged.

Normally, I would have softened my tone at this moment, but I had no idea why I just could notcontrol my emotions and brain today. Hence, the words that came out of my mouth were saidwithout thinking.

"That’s right. Everybody around me is more important than you. They are the ones I can't part with.

Munchkin, the Schumans, and even the Louises are more important than you. You're the only one Ican give up at any time."

I acted as if I could not see the pain in Theo's eyes and continued to hurt him. "Can you please letgo of me? I'm going to replace the person I can’t part with."

Theo’s pupils dimmed. I squeezed my eyes shut and continued to turn a blind eye. I shook off hishand and left the hotel room.

It was only until I entered the elevator did I realize how hurtful the words I just said to Theo were.

I slapped myself and crouched down in exhaustion. How could I say those words without thinking?
