The Woman From Hell
Chapter 978

Chapter 978

The girl was right. It was dangerous for us to walk in the mountains at night. When we first enteredthe mountains, we could still replace traces of humans having been here before, but they were nolonger visible at this point. That meant that the probability of us encountering beasts was muchhigher.

If we saw footprints of the beasts during the day, we could still think of a way to avoid them, but itwas hard to see footprints of beasts at night. Hence, it was best to replace a cave to rest for the night.

Shannon stopped in her tracks and looked at us. "Let's replace a cave and call it a night. We’ll continueour journey at the stroke of daylight."

We were probably in God’s favor because we saw a cave less than 300 feet away. Although it wasnot very big, it was enough to accommodate several of us.

It had been a long day and coupled with the constant walking, all of us were famished. However, none of us brought anything with us when we escaped into the mountains, so we could only endurethe hunger.

Apart from Shannon, I did not know the names of the four other girls. Since none of us could sleep,we started introducing ourselves to each other.

All four girls came from different places. One of the girls was the tallest among us, and her namewas Nina Fameli. She was from South Riverton. Another girl was a classic beauty called HollyConsel from South Tinkertown. Her face brought the word 'beauty' to mind.

The two other girls were from South County-Thaddea Zameus and Dazaray Timber. These twoladies were comparatively less attractive than the previous two girls but were considered stunningamong ordinary girls.

I had no idea why those people captured these young and beautiful girls if they were not doing it forthe money.

We chatted for about half an hour and planned to take a rest. Just as I was about to fall asleep, Iheard someone praying.

I opened my eyes and saw Dazarey praying.

Although she was praying softly, the forest was eerily silent and frightening. Most importantly, thiscould easily attract beasts.

Nina and Holly looked at her with fear written all over their faces, but they did not say anything.

Shannon could not help but say, "Missy, if you want to pray, can you at least pray in your heart? Doyou know that what you're doing can easily attract beasts?"

Dazaray opened her eyes to look at Shannon and said with a face full of displeasure, "God will onlyprotect u s and not hurt us."

Shannon was extremely speechless. She rolled her eyes at her and said no more.

We all thought that Dazaray would stop praying, but she started praying again.

Shannon finally could not stand it anymore and scolded her angrily, "Go out and pray to attract thebeasts all you want. Let’s all die here together."

Dazaray glanced at her and clammed up.

The other three girls remained silent the whole time with their heads bowed. This lasted until dawn.

The sound of birds chirping in the forest was particularly crisp and clear. When I woke up, onlyShannon and I remained in the cave.

Shannon was still asleep, so I woke her up.

She opened her eyes and looked around her in a daze.

I thought she looked really beautiful. Her face was tiny and delicate. Perhaps she had laid on herside for too long, one side of her face was crimson, which made her look even prettier and fairer.

I stood up and dusted my clothes, saying, "It's dawn."

Shannon nodded and yawned, asking, "Where are they?"

I pointed to the outside of the cave and said, "They all went out."

Shannon smiled but did not say anything. She got up and prepared to go out.

Perhaps she had been lying down for too long, her legs felt a little numb. She fell to the side whenshe got up
