The Wrong Woman -
Chapter 369
Known as the “Mad Dog” of the world, Dorzania was a small but militarily powerful nation. They wereambitious and brutal.
They never hesitated to use force to get what they wanted, whether it was economics, wealth, resources, or territory.
On the frontier of Dorzania, there was an island called Cloudreach Isle that was inhabited by thousandsof islanders. These islanders were the elite spies of various countries who had been. trained by theNightshade Clan.
Though considered a secret organization, the Nightshade Clan had the Dorzania government as itsbackbone.
The sunset on Cloudreach Isle was magnificent. After the speedboat docked, two armed men. helpedMila ashore. Shortly after, the speedboat took off again. Mila was blindfolded as she meekly followedthem ashore.
After crossing a stretch of beach and land, Mila was taken for a ten–minute ride in a sightseeing carbefore her blindfold was taken off.
She found herself standing in a spacious house. The house was decorated in a unique way thatreflected the cultural characteristics of Dorzania.
She rubbed her eyes and scanned the room. There were four armed men standing guard in the fourcorners of the room, glaring at her in a threatening manner.
Silas Vaughn, the leader of the Nightshade Clan, was sitting on a bed in front of her. He was a stockyman of about 60 years old.
Scrumptious food and wine lay on the bed tray in front of him. He raised an eyebrow at Mila, thencasually took a sip of wine and chewed on a piece of beef jerky. He asked, “Where did you get that?”
It wasn’t until Mila handed them a small portion of hydronium that they noticed her and took her to theNightshade lair. Mila responded in a chilling tone, “I want to see Nathan. I won’t say a word if I don’t getto see him.”
Silas remained indifferent as he enjoyed his food and drink at a leisurely pace. He completely ignoredMila. “I don’t know him. I’ve never seen him before.”
“Then, I’ll say nothing,” Mila answered, proud and defiant.
“Aren’t you afraid to die?” Silas smirked.
Mila adopted a fearless stance. “I never intended to leave alive since I came here. Bring Nathan if youwant to know Mila Winkler’s whereabouts. I must see him.”
“I told you. I’ve never seen him before.” Silas angrily slammed down the beef jerky he held and fixedMila with his icy, fierce gaze.
Mila’s heart raced with fear. Her legs trembled, and her back was soaked with sweat.
She had grown up in a sheltered environment, surrounded by nothing but study and research.
She had never been in a situation like this in her life. She felt sheer terror as she faced these terroristsalone.
Yet, she tried to keep her composure. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. “Don’t you want thehydronium? Don’t you want to replace out where Mila Winkler is?”
Silas‘ features twisted menacingly as he stressed each word. “Do you want to be killed immediately?”
Mila remained silent. Her stare was unwavering. This was the wildest thing that she had ever done inher life. She wouldn’t regret it even if she died here today without seeing Nathan. Silas‘ anger graduallygave way to a hint of amusement as he watched Mila’s defiant expression. He spoke vigorously, “It istrue that we have captured two Norvanian researchers. and killed several Norvanian soldiers who hadinfiltrated Nightshade, but all of this was done to save Oliver.
“As for Nathan, he is the general of the Norvanian military. Capturing him would be a declaration of waron Norvania. Do you think we have the guts to do that?”
Mila’s gaze hardened, and her tone became stern. “You may not have the guts to openly
declare what you’ve done, but you’ve certainly had a lot of dirty dealings behind the scenes.”
