To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny)
Chapter 1072 When Did You Start Pressuring Me to Get Married?

They soon arrived at Gilbert's villa. As they had called in advance, Gilbert was already home when they arrived.

Seeing the two of them get out of the car, Gilbert's eyes lit up with joy. "Come on in."

Although spring was approaching, it was still snowing in Bardoff City, with temperatures being very low.

The three of them entered the house. Zack didn't bring Janet with him, so Gilbert had no objections and spoke to him in a much better tone than he had used during their last encounter.

"Gilbert, Zack, you haven't had dinner, right?" Jenny said first, making it clear that they were here for a meal.

"Don't worry. Do you think I will starve you?" Gilbert laughed.

Jenny grinned and watched as Gilbert walked into the kitchen. Then, she pulled Zack to sit on the sofa nearby.

"Jenny, when do you plan to ask?" Zack asked softly, his eyes never leaving the kitchen.

Jenny pursed her lips. She was not sure. "How about...you ask, Zack?"

As soon as she said that, Zack quickly moved away from her and kept his distance. "Absolutely not! Are you trying to get me killed?"

If he dared to tell Gilbert to marry Marigold, Gilbert would kill him, and Zack was not ready to die yet.

"Alright, alright. I'll ask him, okay? You should look at your face-you were so scared," Jenny said, sighing helplessly.

As Zack scooted back to sit beside her, Jenny couldn't help but complain, "Zack, you used to say that you would protect me and rush to the front for anything. It hasn't been long, but you've already forgotten your promise."

Zack laughed awkwardly. "This is different."

Jenny harrumphed at his reply as she saw no difference.

While the two discussed how to broach the topic, Gilbert was oblivious to what was about to happen. He was still cooking with a blissful smile on his face.

He guessed they had come for a meal because Zack and Janet had broken up, so he was very happy. Alas, his guess was completely wrong.

"Gilbert, let me help you," Jenny said, walking into the kitchen and helping him with the vegetables.

"No need, I can handle it myself." With only the three of them eating, he did not need to make too much food.

Jenny didn't leave but insisted on staying in the kitchen to help.

"Gilbert, you're such a good cook. Whoever marries you will definitely be happy," she said in an attempt to gauge his reaction.

To her disappointment, Gilbert didn't react much. "I haven't thought that far. I'm already very content to cook for you and Zack."

"How can you not think about it, Gilbert? You should think about yourself." Jenny felt a little sad. Gilbert had been thinking about her and Zack for years and rarely looked after himself.

His hands trembling, he smiled wryly. "Jenny, when did you start pressuring me to get married too?"

"Oh, I just wanted to see your thoughts about it, Gilbert," Jenny didn't deny that she was urging him to get married. She said so much to let Gilbert be mentally prepared, so he wouldn't be too shocked later. Gilbert fell silent for a moment, seeming to be really considering it.

After a long while, he said, "I don't have any plans for the time being. Maybe it's because I haven't met someone I like."

Jenny was frustrated. When would he ever meet someone he liked? It seemed like the time would never arrive.

"Do you like children?" Jenny suddenly asked, staring at Gilbert without blinking, seeming to be very curious about the question.
