To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) -
Chapter 1079 Aren’t You Curious About His Answer?
"Although people may be more accepting of it now, I think children without a father still feel a little sad about it. Have you considered that?" Jenny looked at her. It was a sincere question, with no intention to mock Marigold's situation.
Marigold lowered her head, and it was clear that Jenny's words had struck a chord in her. In fact, she was also worried, and she knew what a father meant to a child. But what could she do?
If Gilbert knew she was pregnant with his child, he would force her to have an abortion since he loathed her.
"I went to see my brother yesterday." Jenny finally told her after a long pause.
Marigold's eyes widened in shock and then turned to fear. "You...you told him?"
"Yeah," Jenny didn't deny it. At this point, there was no need to deny it.
Marigold was instantly angry. "How dare you tell him without my consent? This is my child, and I'll do what I want with it. It's none of anyone else's business." Even Gilbert had no right to interfere. "Aren't you curious about his answer?" Jenny wasn't angry at her outburst. In fact, she understood Marigold. However, as his sister, Jenny hoped that Gilbert could have a happy family.
Chewing on her lip, Marigold whispered, "His answer? He'll probably just ask me to get an abortion. No, he won't even believe the child is his." Marigold laughed bitterly.
Jenny didn't know what to say because Marigold was right. Gilbert didn't believe the child was his, and even if he did, he would still ask Marigold to get an abortion. Sighing, Jenny asked, "So, have you really thought it through? Even if you have the child, my brother will still not accept it."
"Yes, I've made up my mind since the moment I decided to keep the child." Marigold was resolute.
Seeing that, Jenny didn't say more. "If you need any help, just give me a call."
If this child came to the world, she would accept it even if Gilbert didn't. They would be her nephew or niece, and she would be their aunt.
Hearing Jenny's reply, Marigold sat back down. With a softer tone, she asked, "You don't object to me having the child?"
"Of course not. As you said, the child is yours. It's in your womb, and no one can stop you from having it." Not even Gilbert.
For some reason, Marigold felt relieved as she didn't expect anyone to support her. She looked at Jenny gratefully. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me. It should be me thanking you," Jenny looked at her. No matter how unpleasant their past was, it had become a thing of the past now.
Marigold, however, didn't understand what she meant. "Thank me?"
"Yeah, thank you for bringing another family member into my life," Jenny said. Although she and Gilbert were not related by blood, he was still her brother. So, his child would be her niece or nephew. Jenny hoped Marigold's child was a girl so that she could buy her many beautiful little dresses.
Upon hearing that, Marigold's eyes reddened. She looked at Jenny, not knowing what to say. "About what happened before...I'm sorry."
She was never someone who liked to apologize. If Jenny hadn't come to her today and told her these things, she might have never said sorry in her entire life.
Jenny smiled at her. She stood up and patted her shoulder. "It's all in the past. You're about to start a new life."
