To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny)
Chapter 1149 Who Would Believe That?

He was so straightforward that Jenny didn't know what to say for a moment. "Are you sure? She was the person your savior had asked you to take care of."

"So what if he had saved my life? Do you think I'm-" Alec stopped mid-sentence. "In any case, I won't sacrifice my lifetime of happiness for her."

Jenny knew what he wanted to say. He wanted to bring up the fact that she had promised to take care of Evan. She pursed her lips and said nothing anymore. In any case, Alec better kept his word. Otherwise, she should not be blamed for showing no mercy.

Old Mr. Faust glanced at the two of them. Seeing they didn't get mad, he said satisfactorily, "That's right. You should just talk it through if there are any issues. I've never liked Faye."

He had always felt back then that Alec had taken too much care of Faye. However, no matter what he said back then, Alec wouldn't listen.

Fortunately, Alec had regained his senses at that moment. He was no longer as foolish as he was before.

"That shows that you have a sharper eye than a certain person, Grandpa," Jenny said softly with a slight intention to mock.

Alec was speechless. Refusing to admit defeat, he said, "I've never liked her. You're clearly the one who kept thinking I have a thing for her."

"That's because your actions make me misunderstand." At the bottom of it all, it was still Alec's fault.

Alec moved his lips, wanting to defend himself. However, before he said anything, Old Mr. Faust kicked him. "Is Jenny wrong? I think she's absolutely right."

Alec was speechless. He already lost his rights before Jenny married him. If she really married him, would he still have any right to speak? Well, what could he do?

One of them was the person he was determined to marry, while the other was his grandfather, who raised him. He could not offend both of them. He could only spoil them. There was no other way. Seeing Alec at a loss for words, Jenny could not help but chuckle secretly. "Alright, let's eat. Who cares if she's returning or not? We just have to live our lives well."

Old Mr. Faust hurriedly echoed, "Jenny's right. What's important is to live our lives well."

Alec was speechless again as he thought, "Anything Jenny says now would be right, wouldn't it? Don't you have your own opinion at all, Grandpa?"

After dinner, Alec was called into the study by Old Mr. Faust.

"Alec, I'm warning you. If Faye truly returns, you'd better stay away from her." Old Mr. Faust's expression darkened. The smiling expression he had at the dining table earlier was long gone. Alec was very hurt. "Grandpa, am I that unreliable?"

"Hmph! If you're reliable, I would have long had a great-grandchild." Old Mr. Faust snorted, greatly displeased.

Alec pursed his lips as he was speechless.

"You divorced Jenny because of Faye back then. If you break up with Jenny because of her again, I'll think of a way to end her even if I can't end you." He had not gotten his hands dirty for many years, but he would not mind getting rid of someone again for his grandson's happiness.

Alec quickly stepped forward to comfort him when he heard that. "Don't worry, Grandpa. I really don't have any feelings for her. Besides, who said I divorced Jenny because of Faye? I divorced her then because I had no feelings for her." He had not even met Jenny at that time. He had been considering getting a divorce since the day he got married. It had nothing to do with Faye.

Unfortunately, Old Mr. Faust did not believe what he said at all.

Who would leave such a great wife at home and not visit her at all if he did not fancy another woman?

Who would believe that?
