To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) -
Chapter 1190 Just Wait and See
When they wrapped up the long kiss, Jenny playfully glared at him. "You're shameless!" Alec had pretended to be upset just so he could take advantage of her.
"I don't mind acting shamelessly in front of you." He held her and refused to let go.
Suddenly, they jumped at the wry cough from the second floor. Jenny immediately broke free from Alec's arms. Graham descended from the stairs, acting as though he didn't witness the intimate act. "Jenny, you're home. Did you run into any trouble?"
"Dad, I'm fine. How about you? You're not in shock, are you?" She collected herself, putting the attack at the back of her mind.
Graham joined them in the living room and sat across from them. "This is not my first time-I'm experienced. Why would I be in shock?"
"Sure, you're amazing," she jokingly complimented him. After that, she told him about the suggestion to work with Pete Dafoe, to which he responded with worry.
"Will he agree to it? Eric is his father, after all. Any average man will not agree to work with us to take down his father."
"Well, there you have it. Pete Dafoe is no average man."
Technically, all members of the Dafoe family were not your average Joe. Since Graham had no better idea, he allowed Jenny to make the decision. "You can decide on what to do. I have no objection as long as we leave this city with your mom."
"Alright. Don't worry. I'll give it my best," she replied.
Graham retired to his room, leaving some space for the new couple who were madly in love. He knew better than to be the third wheel.
When Graham left, Jenny glanced at Alec. "Why didn't you say a word just now? Are you scared of my dad?"
"I'm not scared of him, but I'm worried I might leave a bad impression. Silence is golden." He knew that Graham held a grudge against him for divorcing Jenny. She chuckled and looked at him, amused. "I've never thought I'd see you acting this way. What a rare sight!"
"Quit poking fun at me. I did this all for you." He cared about the perception of her family and friends because he was worried he'd lost her again.
Jenny pursed her lips and didn't retort. She knew very well that Alec was doing all this for her-he'd never be timid and humble otherwise. Patting his shoulder, she encouraged him with a smile, "Well, keep going! I think you're doing well!"
"Yeah. I'll keep working on getting your dad's acceptance," he grumbled, and she laughed heartily.
Meanwhile, Pete was slightly petrified to see Eric in the living room when he got home. He felt as if he was caught red-handed, but he quickly calmed down and wandered over to his father. "Are you looking for me?"
"Did you meet with Jenny?" Eric asked.
Lynette rushed out of the bedroom after hearing that and glared viciously at Pete, who didn't seem too bothered.
"Yes, I did. I thought I told you I was interested in her."
"Pete Dafoe! Just wait and see! I'll dig up your mother's grave!" Lynette hurled empty threats at him at the top of her lungs-it was hard for her to even step foot outside of the mansion.
Eric glanced at her and said coolly, "Get back into your room."
She wanted to retort but kept her mouth shut after meeting Eric's hostile gaze. She finally gave up and returned to her bedroom. She was afraid of Eric and the inhumane abuse he'd inflict on her when he was enraged.
