To Be Yours Again novel (Alec and Jenny) -
Chapter 1198 I Am Too Impatient
Finally, Eric was convinced to return after he was done with his business trip. Still worried, he wanted Pete to report to him daily about Lynette. Pete readily agreed to the request because it would be hard for Eric to spot the fake Lynette through phone calls.
At the same time, Jenny and her entourage had boarded a private jet to Bardoff with a heavily disguised Lynette. There, she met Graham again. He had been staring eagerly at the entrance. When she showed up, he headed to her without hesitation.
"Nettie."
"Graham." She bit her lips as she felt a wave of emotions washing over her.
Jenny glanced at them and interrupted at a rather bad timing, "Take your seats now. We're taking off soon. You'll have plenty of time to chat later." Lynette and Graham looked sheepish. They had forgotten about the existence of other people on the plane out of excitement.
Everyone went to their seats. Lynette took her seat beside Graham. She watched the plane ascend into the clouds, leaving behind Bayside City, which looked tinier from the air. Suddenly, she was immersed in the sweet taste of freedom. She had finally escaped from the city that had been her prison for decades.
"Nettie, are you okay?" Graham was worried about her because she looked a little upset.
She was pulled back to reality and smiled at him. "I'm fine. I've never been this fine before."
She had mentally prepared herself to be Eric's captive in this life, but she finally had the chance to leave. She might have laughed hysterically if she didn't have to worry about being perceived as a madwoman. She was on cloud nine, but she remained rational.
"Jenny, how did you convince Pete to help you? He has hated me forever." Lynette was caught off guard when Pete offered his help.
Jenny looked at her. "He's not helping me. He's helping himself."
Lynette was perplexed, so Jenny explained the plan to her. There was nothing to hide anyway. Once Jenny put Eric behind bars, Lynette would file a divorce lawsuit, and he'd have no choice but to agree. "Jenny." Lynette felt bad after hearing Jenny's plan. "I'm sorry. I owe you a lot, but you're the one helping me instead."
"You don't owe me anything. I think I've been doing quite well over these years." Jenny was unconcerned about Lynette's guilt. She also had no attachment to her mother. She only searched for Lynette because Graham stubbornly wanted to do so. Honestly speaking, she didn't care about Lynette's life in Bayside City at all.
Her indifference upset Lynette. "Jenny, I..."
Graham took Lynette's hand and shook his head. He whispered in her ear, "Don't rush it. Take your time. She acted the same way when I took her home and slowly opened up to me."
"Yeah. You're right. I'm too impatient." She was rushing it because she was eager to hear Jenny calling her "Mom." She understood that asking for an intimate relationship was too much to ask, especially when Jenny had grown up without her.
"That's true. I shouldn't be impatient." Lynette calmed down and said to Jenny, "Thank you, Jenny."
Jenny glanced at her without a word.
